Heavy droplets of rain were hammering the window and it helped the least for Kael to get over the loneliness and the fear he felt. He kept staring at the rain smudged city which was illuminated by the lights of tall city scrapers through the window. It's been forty-eight hours since the surgery and Andressa was still not coming over from her unconscious state. Kael was getting impatient second by second and he felt dreadful even though the doctors assured that she was stable and it was just a matter of time until she regains consciousness.

He took slow steps toward Andressa and sat beside the seat he had placed next to her. He placed his warm large hand over her small fragile one and pressed lightly and started talking to her once more as he did several times during the day.

"Please Meu Anjo, Please wake up from the deep sleep you are in. Please stop punishing me. I have never felt so helpless ever in my life. I have everyone I loved in my life." Kael looked down at the floor averting his gaze. Looking at Andressa in a state of coma was breaking him apart gradually.

"Is this a curse? Do I bring so much bad luck that everyone I love leave me to be so miserable and unhappy? Please baby! Don't even think of leaving me because you know why? I will never let you go. If this is your plan to escape from me I will follow you. There is no death do us part for us Meu Anjo." The tears that had pooled in his eyes fell on to the floor one by one making his vision blurry.

All of a sudden he felt a light movement of her hand the one he was holding. Kael snapped out of his emotionally disorientated state and quickly glanced at Andressa. His heart sank seeing her eyes still shut as if they had been glued on to her face. Was I hallucinating? Please baby, Andressa wake up. You are torturing me.

It happened again, Andressa was moving her fingers. Kael felt ecstatic and he was at a loss of words. He stared in to her face in great hope his heart filling up with overwhelming rush of emotions that he forgot to breath at the site of his life fluttered her lashes furrowing her browse taking use of the very little energy she had in her. Kael went up to his feet unknown to himself. He bent over to Andressa and touched her head ever so gently and he finally spoke to her ear.

"Meu Anjo! Please open your eyes. I need you." He said to her ear in a loving whisper.

Kael straightened and he felt blood rushing in his body as it heated up. His heart started beating so fast as he stared in to a pair of grey-green eyes. Her eyes that once shined with bright gleaming silvery green now looked tired and hurt. Andressa had fought a battle between life and death for a long two days and she won. To Kael time passed so slowly that the world around him was suddenly became slow-motion. Deep in his heart he could almost feel the pain Andressa was feeling. He stared in to her grey-green eyes immersed deep in them.

"Hey you, Welcome back" Kael whispered to her huskily.

Andressa felt disturbed as she was feeling drowsy. It was difficult for her brain to register what was going on immediately. The white light of the florescent above her was painful to her eyes. She averted her eyes from the blinding light and looked at the direction she heard a familiar voice. She blinked several times and stared in to the deep dark orbs that were looking in to her with so much passion and need. She turned her gaze to either sides to get a better look of the environment around her. Her breathing intensified as she tried to comprehend what she was doing in a hospital room.

She pressed both hands on to mattress in an effort to sit up but she couldn't. Her body felt as it had been bruised so bad. She felt a stinging pain from a side of her abdomen and it made her groan but her voice was merely a whisper.

"Andressa! Baby it's okay. Everything is alright. Stay still, you need to rest" Kael immediately jumped in consoling her so she can settle down.

Andressa exhaled and let her chest filled with air relax. Her stiff and tensed body eased a little as Kael ran his warm hand up and down her arm. She closed her eyes and tried to gather the memories scattered all over her mind and recall what had happened. Memories came rushing back to her like a storm. Her father, the FBI agents, Adrian and all of a sudden the way she became his hostage and the gun shot, the excruciating pain she felt as the bullet entered her piercing her flesh and the next she remembers was odd memories of blurry images before the world went blank to her. She placed her hand over her abdomen and she felt thick layers of bandage on her. A sob escaped her mouth so softly yet it carried so much pain with it. Tears started to run down from the corners of her eyes damping her already messy hair. Kael tightened his grip on her hand and wiped her tears with his free hand.

"Meu Anjo, please don't cry. I am here with you and everything is going to be alright." He uttered softly to Andressa in an effort to stop her tears and planted a soft kiss on her forehead.

Andressa felt bitter with a feeling of abandonment. Her father raised her to love, he taught her to give and forgive. She was the precious jewel of his life but now all of it had fade away in to a dark bitter past. She felt betrayed by her own family. Seeing his father handling a gun had her own share of doubts arise. What if Kael was right about him? What if he has a secret that is so dark and toxic to her whole family? What if? She wondered. Questioned that need to be answered with a thousand doubts that haunt her mind, Andressa intend to dig it up. Truth is the only medication for the pain she felt inside her and there is only one person who can help her reach the destination. Andressa looked at Kael with pleading eyes. Her heart skipped a beat when she came to realise that Kael's feelings for her was true to the heart. Knowing that the man hovering over her was her destroyer and her lover and now he was her only hope shook her to the core.

"Kael" She whispered.
