Chapter 7: Mirrors

Leo S: Why did you name the last chapter Mirrors and this one Mirrors...

Ally: I meant to name the last chapter Forgiveness

Leo S: Oh :P

Ally: I'm just gonna hope it's Forgiveness and not Mirrors

Martin's POV

Hades never had children. Especially mortal children. The only mortal children he ever had were Bianca, Hazel and Nico. And Hazel was a child of Pluto, and Bianca was dead, unless she was in Hades's army. Now that I saw Hades's symbol on top of a person, I was shocked out of my mind.

"What's happening? Why is everyone looking at me and why is there a symbol above me?" Crystine asked. I saw Nico approach her and his mouth moved. He was probably telling her that she was claimed. Just then, Rafe ran to me, wearing a surgical gown and jeans.

"Martin, you have to come with me, now." He told me urgently. I asked,

"What's wrong?" He replied,

"It's Ally. She's hurt." Concern and fear engulfed instantly. My mind thought of horrific scenarios, one more terrifying then the next. No matter what Ally did, no matter what people say about her, I still love her. No one can change that. I let go of my life when she lost hers. Now that she was hurt and could be dying, I was determines not to lose her again.

"Where is she?" He pointed at the infirmary and I ran there as fast as my tires legs could carry me. I burst into the infirmary and saw Igor waiting for me by the door.

"You might wanna see this." He told me and I followed him to one of the private rooms in the infirmary. A private room is only used for a patient that emergencies. I was paranoid beyond anything. She was everything to me, and if she's gone, I can't bear to live this life anymore. He opened the door to Private Room Two and I went inside. Eve, Kelian and a few more Apollo children were looking after Ally, measuring her temperature, doing blood tests, studying an huge, infected wound in her stomach. She was unconscious and wearing a mask, she was probably under anestatic. She was deathly pale and had big eyebags, like she haven't slept in months. Seeing her like this brought me to tears.

"Ally..." I muttered. A tear escaped my eye and I quickly brushes it away. Rafe put a hand on my shoulder.

"She'll be fine, she's a strong girl." I took off my armour and placed it at a corner of the room, put on a surgical mask and gown, then washed my hands and put on a surgical cap and put on surgical gloves. I examined the wound, fighting hard to keep the tears in my eyes. The blood flowing from the wound was steaming and tainted. Kelian told me,

"Get some samples of it, we'll get the children of Athena to examine the blood, just clean the wound out and we'll stitch it." I nodded and started to put some of Ally's tainted blood in a beaker, tears welled up in my hazel brown eyes.

Ally: Eww the wound is gross

Martin: Every child of Apollo deals with gross wounds

Ally: Ewwww XP

Crystine's POV

JBV: I'm scared for her, Ally is evil

Ally: (:<

Nico and I walked to the Unclaimed Cabin, explaining everything and answering my qyestions along the way. I was a daughter of Hades and we were the only living children of Hades. There was one more named Hazel, but she was a child of Pluto, not Hades. We arrived in the unclaimed cabin and he told me,

"Get your things, I'll be waiting out here." I nodded and went inside. The unclaimed children were already back inside the cabin, joyful as always. Kayla ran to me and I smiled as she gave me a hug. She's a redheaded 6 year old with silver grey eyes and freckles. Her mother lived in Bullseye Cavern, but she wanted Kayla to come to Camp Slugterra early because she wanted Kayla to be safe. I returned her hug and after a short while, we let go and I started to pack. Kayla frowned and asked,

"Crystine? Why are you packing? What was the thing glowing above your head just now?" I responded,

"You know the Death God? Hades?" She nodded. I told her,

"That was his symbol. He's my dad, and I can't stay here anymore." Kayla pouted.

"Why..." She pouted. I answered,

"Because it's against the rules. I want to stay here, Kayla, but I can't. I'll come visit, ok?" Kayla sniffed and startes to sob. She hugged me again. I could feel her shaky breaths and I patted her back.

"It's ok Kayla....I promise that I'll visit, ok?" She let go and dried her eyes. Then she held out her pinkie and requested,

"Pinkie promise?" I smiled and hooked my pinkie around hers.

"Pinkie promise." She smiled at me through her tears and told me,

"I'll miss you." We hugged for one last time before I took my bag of things and went out of the Unclaimed Cabin, knowing I'll never spend another night here ever again.

3 hours later....

Igor's POV

We did it. We saved Ally. The wound was clean and stitched, clear of any infection. Our part was over. We had a small celebration with some Butterbeer, then we went to look after the other patients. Martin was literally crying tears of joy as he chugged down some Butterbeer. After we all calmed down and finished the Butterbeer, I saw Martin looking at Ally, a look of sadness and love in his eyes. I asked,

"Martin, you stay with her? You can tell us if anything's wrong and someone else can take your place if you want." His eyes lit up with determination and he responded,

"Sure." We cleaned up and put Ally on a proper bed. Eve put a clean set of clothes and some towels in the closet and supplied the bathroom with shampoo and things a girl needs while the guys put away the surgery tools and swept the floor. Martin cleaned out the cabinets and put a lemon cut in half in a corner of the cabinet, saying that the cabinet would smell better and keeps out spiders.

Leo S: I bet the whole Athena Cabin smells like lemon XD

Ally: XD

He stockpiled them with nectar, ambrosia, some cullinary, and a few photographs of herself and everyone during their best times. I thought I saw tears in Martin's eyes as he looked at a picture of himself with Ally in a waterpark. The rest of the Apollo kids went out to treat the other demigods, and soon, it was only Martin, Ally and I. Silence filled the room. Finally, I spoke up,

"Martin, she may love you back, you know." Martin frowned and told me,

"Igor, she hates me. She swore on the River Styx never to forgive me, and you saw the way she yelled at me when I tried to apologize. I'm the reason she died in the first place. And even if she doesn't hate me for that, the Furies told her enough things for her to hate me for the rest of her life." He closed the cabinet and washed his hands. I told him,

"The prophecy said that an unbreakable promise has to he broken to win this war. Ally would do anything to win this war now, especially if it means Aquito gets punished. She will forgive you. And deep down...I think she loves you too. She just hasn't realized it yet." Martin shrugged and tried to look normal, but his eyes were filled with hopelessness and sadness. He thought wants I was saying was just something to comfort him.

"Dude, you should go, you have to treat the others." He reminded me. I snapped back into reality and said,

"Tell us if anything is wrong." Then I left.

The next day....

Martin's POV

Ally was doing ok so far. Steady heartbeat, steady breathing. Despite all that, her energy level was quite low and she had a mild fever. She was also showing no signs of waking up. I heard a knock on the door and opened it. To my surprise, Alana was by the door.

"Is Ally awake? I came on behalf of Leo, he can't get out of bed yet. He's awake though." I responded,

"Nope, she's still unconscious. I hope she wakes up though." Alana put a ganf on my shoulder.

"Martin, of course she's gonna wake. She has to. Because Hades won't let her die now, she has an army to lead." Then she grimaced.

"Although I don't like the way she leads it..." She added. I shrugged and she frowned. The she smiled again and asked,

"Come on, Marty, where's your smile?" I told her,

"Don't call me that." Just then, Alana got a call, and she put the phone to her ear.

"Hey babe. I'm fine, ye. He's here, and Ally's still out cold. Ok, I'll come over. I don't want you to be alone, I know you miss me......ok, love you too, bye." She hung up and told me,

"It's Leo, he wants me back, see you!" She walked towards the direction of Leo's private room. Victims of Dark Ice needrd to be in the private rooms, because we didn't know what was gonna happen. I closed the door and turned back to Ally. Nothing happened to her while he was talking to Alana. I took a chair and sat next to the bed Ally was lying on. Looking at her unconscious form made me have one crazy thought, one small strand of hope that she really loves me back. Hope that we could get a peaceful and happy life after this stupid war. Then it was replaced by pangs of sadness and guilt. How could she ever love me? The Furies scarred her emotionally and physically, poisoned every good memory she ever had. And even before she died, her whole family was tortured in front of her eyes when she was only 3, so that she'll have emotional trauma for life. Her home cavern was burnt down and destoryed. From the age of 3 she was already training to be a warrior. She had one heck of a childhood, and yet she's still strong, up and fighting. If there was anyone who deserved a happy ending, it was Ally.

"Ally.....I'm so sorry." I whispered, knowing she couldn't hear me. Despite that, I continued.

"I'm sorry for not being there when I could have helped you, I'm sorry for all those little things I done to offend you, I'm sorry for everything....." I just kept on talking, knowing that no one, not even Ally, could hear me.

"I didn't appreciate you enough when you were alive, I didn't realize what I had...what we had until it was gone.....and when you were gone, I just couldn't handle it...." Before I knew it, tears were streaming down my face. But nevertheless, I continued.

"I let go of my purpose to live. I cut myself, I cried myself to sleep most nights, I rarely ate and drank. I know I shouldn't have done those things but...it seemed selfish for me to move on and forget you. I could never forget you. Not even the Lethe can make me forget you." I paused for a while and just stared at her, then I continued.

"You're my light in the dark, the reason I'm still living my life in this hellhole. You're everything to me, my heart, my soul, my only reason to live. Please....survive this war, make it out alive, because if you die....all I see for the future is darkness. Without you, my life has no purpose. Ally....I love you....." At that point, my voice failed me. Words couldn't express my love for Ally. They just couldn't.

JBV: We know

Leo S: You'll get her soon

Martin: Hopefully

Artemis: >.> Boys, thinking they can rule over women.

Leo S: *bows and runs away*

I felt my eyelids drooping, my vision getting fuzzier and fuzzier. Before I knew it, I was fast asleep.

A few hours later....

Crystine's POV

"Here we are! Hades's cabin." Nico exclaimed. It radiated gloom and misery, and certainly looked the part. The wood was painted black and skulls were majorly used to decoration. I shuddered. If I was gonna sleep in here with only him, I would rather go back to the Unclaimed Cabin.

"Why is it so gloomy?" I blurted out, due to my ADHD. He shurgged and replied,

"It's the Hades cabin. Does it need anymore explanation?" I went inside. Inside was just as gloomy as the outside. There was 3 rooms, because Hades didn't really have children. Nico led me to an empty room. It had a queen sized bed with black sheets, a wooden closet, windows with red curtain which reminded me strangely of Dark Water, which made me shudder. I nearly got hit by a blade of Dark Ice, which could have killed me if Commander Ally didn't jump in the way. But the most creepy thing was that she didn't flinch. She didn't scream in pain and crumble to the ground. Instead, she kept on fighting until she took Leo to the infirmary, and even then she wanted to just drop Leo off and go fight, but instead, they treated her wound.

"What's wrong? Crystine, are you alright?" Nico asked with concern. I snapped out of my thoughts.

"Sorry, Nico, where were we?" I asked. He replied,

"I was about to tell you that I was going ti see Ally in the infirmary and give you some time to explore the place. Are you seriously ok?" I responded,

"Yeah, but I have a question to ask you. Aquito was about to stab me with a Dark Ice dagger and Ally got hit instead, because she jumped in front of me. How could she still fight after that?" He replied,

"She's a strong girl. No matter what state she's in, she's always fighting, always strong until the end, no matter what are the conquences. She doesn't care if she's hurt, just as long as the innocent are ok. It's......it's the way she died." He looked like he didn't want to continue, so I let him be. He frowned for a while, then smiled.

"I'll be going now, Crystine, see you at dinner!" He jogged out of my room. I looked around my room and made a mental list of things I would need to fabulize this gloomy room.

JBV: XD

Crystine: Wat? It's really gloomy, a girl can't live in a gloomy place :3

Ally: True

Leo S: Every guy who has a girlfriend would know that

Alana: :3

Ally: Is the story getting boring? It broke the 2000 word barrier

Chi Yi: Nah, CONTINUE

Martin's POV

I raised my head from my arms and opened my eyes. I tried to keep track of what happened, and how I fell asleep. I looked at Ally's peaceful face and remembered

I cried myself to sleep while making a fool in front of Ally. Thank the gods she's unconscious. I didn't want her to see me cry. I looked around, and I saw a mirror. It said something in English backwards, and with dylesxia, it was murder for my eyes, so I didn't bother to read it. And besides, it wasn't the thing that captured my attention. It was the reflection that did.

Ally was sitting up awake, an arm around me, beaming, moything wouths that didn't reach my ears. I rubbed my eyes and looked again, but it was still there. I looked at Ally, but she was still unconscious as ever. I walked closer to the mirror. Ally was on my left, no scars, no eyebags, just the perfect girl I see in my eyes. My reflection was beaming and his arm was wrapped around Ally's waist. She kissed his cheek snd mouthed words I've always wanted her to say to me. My mother was on my left, her hand on my shoulder, her sweet smile back on her face. Her brown, wavy hair fell in curls around her beautiful face. My heart ached with desire and pain. I looked to my left, but nothing was there. I walked closer and put my hand on the glass. In the mirror, Ally brought me into a kiss, and my mother mouthed more words that I woukd have been glad to hear. Tears welled up in my eyes as I lookes at the reflection. I wanted it to he real so badly, I didn't care what I had to do.

"Ah, you've seen the Mirror if Erised, Martin."

Ally: LE END OF DA CHAPTA

Leo S: YOU NEARLY BROKE THE 3000 WORD BARRIER GURL

Chi Yi: Y U END IT

Ashley: It's so sweet though, his desire :3

Ally: :) Bai
