Previously
Their conversation was finished with a loud crash coming from the hallway, and both of their heads snapped in that direction. The door was busted open, and the duo were met with a surprise.
"You're not blackmailing anyone, bitches."
At that moment, the female archer was very intimidating.
---
Now
"Baby girl? What the hell are you doing?" Sportsmaster growled, trying to keep his cool.
Artemis would not hear her father's lies. "I'm not your baby girl! And your not my fucking father!"
Both of the male blondes glanced at each other with utter surprise. What was going on?
"A real father would love me... Take care of me!" The archer shouted, tears streaming down her face. Her breathing was hitched, and her face was turning red with fury.
"I'm the reason your even alive, bitch! Get your act together!" Her father shouted back angrily, now standing up.
"You will tell me where Dick Grayson is, or I swear to God..." Artemis started, but couldn't make out the right words. Sportsmaster chuckled. "You'll what? Torture your daddy? And since when do you believe in God?"
"What else do I have to believe in? Someone like you?" She countered, leaving Lawrence speechless.
Bauer coughed nonchalantly, trying to get the duo's attention. "Maybe we should work this out like normal human beings. Considering you've most likely crippled half my soldiers..."
"Shut it old man!" The young archer yelled. The man groaned, "ugh. Teenagers. Can't they ever behave?"
Suddenly, there was a large blast of poisonous gas. Sportsmaster and Bauer brought gas masks up to their faces just in time, however Artemis wasn't so lucky.
She inhaled the fumes unwillingly, coughing violently as she did so. The last thing she saw was her father walking towards her limp form, until unconsciousness engulfed her into oblivion.

Mount Justice
35 Minutes earlier
"Aqualad, Artemis sent us coordinates to Sportmaster's current location." Miss Martian reported from the debriefing room into her com.
"Good. I will be at Mount Justice shortly. Please call the rest of the team, we must departure soon." The team leader reported back.
Megan knocked quietly on the clone's door, unsure of what he had been up to. He opened only a couple of seconds later, a blank expression on his face as usual. When he saw his girlfriend there to greet him, he smiled, and the two walked down the hallway and conversed as doing so.
"I wonder if we will find the boy. I hope he's alright... Artemis seemed very determined to find him." Megan explained as they walked, holding hands.
"Really?" Superboy questioned.
"Yes. She said she felt guilty for his disappearance... If I were at the school shooting, I would feel the same way." She confessed, glancing at the floor with worry. She hoped her archer friend hadn't gotten into too much trouble.
The zeta tubes announced Kid Flash and Aqualad's arrival. Wally sped in as quickly as possible, and Aqualad walked in normally with a confused expression on his face. "We are here. Rocket will not make it, she has business with her mentor."
The clone and Martian nodded.
"Yeah, yeah. Can we please go already?!" The speedster asked impatiently.
"Yes, Wally. Let's go." The team leader ordered, and the four quickly headed to the bioship.
---
The blonde archer's eyes slowly fluttered open, revealing a dimly lit room. Her muscles were heavy, and her skin felt cold. An odd sensation in her gut suddenly made her want to empty the contents of her stomach all over the floor. Unfortunately, it was not possible. She was restrained heavily and had nothing on her but her clothing.
'Clothing, check. Phew. Not about to get raped. I could use my weapons though... God I feel so sick.' Artemis thought, wiggling against the tight restraints.
She was tied to a chair, in the middle of the room. The door was sadly locked, and thick iron bars covered her only escape; a window. A small, but precious window.
'I'm screwed.'
After hours of waiting for someone to come in and interrogate her or torture her, she was not met with either. Artemis had lost track of time, and stopped counting after 5 hours.
Unwillingly and reluctantly, she closed her eyes. If she was going to find Dick she would need to rest.

The next morning
When Jade entered the room, she was instantly greeted with a disgusting scene. The room reeked of blood and vomit, which was very uncomforting. Not only had his symptoms gotten worse, but his chest wound hadn't been doing well either.
Dick's previously white shirt was now covered in a brown colour, symbolizing the dried blood that had been left in his clothing. Jade would've done something about it, but she had no clothes and didn't feel like changing the poor kid anyways.
"I have water." Jade said, leaning against the doorframe.
"Don' wan' any..."
"Whatever, kid. I'm gonna get you some help, like I promised. Be back soon."
"M'kay." Came the short reply.
"Don't die, bird brain."
"M'kay."
Groaning, Jade walked out. She grabbed her gray and red mask, placing it on her face. She flung up the window, the window making a creaking noise as she did so.
Jade jumped out gracefully, flipping and landing on a nearby rooftop that was below the window. She scouted the area, her eyes scanning the horizon for any armed people. Luckily, it was quiet, and no one was to be seen- for now at least.
Dick's condition had become worse than she expected. She thought after a few days of helping him with the chest wound and him getting rest would help, but it didn't. Now he had an unknown toxin in his body, causing serious side effects. In her defense, it was difficult to stay under the radar and find a way to get medical attention at the same time.
Right now she had no defense, really. She just needed to worry about the present.
Jade jumped off of that building, now landing firmly onto the cracked road. She frowned at the sight of a homeless man half dead next to an abandoned drug mart, but told herself she needed to continue.
'Don't start getting feelings now. You are a villain. A warrior.' She told herself, trying to reassure- but to no avail.
Cheshire quickened her pace.
Just walk.
A bit faster.
And now, she was full on sprinting down the road. She had to ignore it.
Ignore the pain of others. Like she was taught.
---
The view of the telephone booth was like the gates of heaven opening. Jade's grin was so wide, that her mask itself would be jealous.
She couldn't risk using her personal communicator, considering her father could track it with the snap of his fingers. So, Jade decided to do it the old fashioned way.
'I hate ancient things.'
The almost blinding red colour of the telephone booth didn't seem to belong in the dull environment. It was a bit unsettling, and eerie.
The booth doors opened easily, with a light push. Jade walked into the worn down telephone booth, her hands tracing the edges of the dust covered door.
She dialed a number.
Waited as she heard the repetitive sound of the "beep" coming from the phone.
Waiting for the owner of the number to pick up.
"Jade?"
"Roy. I need your help."
---
The bioship landed nearby the coordinates that the team had received. What was left of the team, at least.
"What's our next move, Aqualad?" Miss Martian asked the team leader, glancing at him. Wally was practically vibrating in his seat of the bioship, anxiously. Superboy was giving him odd looks, and Aqualad was trying to hide his annoyance.
"We do not show ourselves. The enemy is inside there most likely, and the boy could be there as well. No unnecessary risks will be made." Kaldur replied firmly.
"Alright. What's our game plan?" Connor questioned, ready for action.
"Yeah- when are we gonna go? Cmon lets go!" Wally begged impatiently.
"Right." The team leader groaned, and the teens filed out of the red bioship.

To be continued...
Cheshire called ROY! Now what? Will the teens save Artemis? Find out in the next chapter.
This is NOT the last chapter, there will be a few more.
