Chapter Six

"Mom, why did we have to move?" I groaned as we kept unpacking. "You heard what the officers said. People keep disappearing."
"You'll be fine." Mom reassured me. "We'll just stay together. Besides, they'll die down after a while."
"I think you're nuts Mom." I said, taking a break from the probably one-hundred more boxes that we still had to unpack. "I get that you live life on the edge and all but moving to a town that keeps having people disappear is way too far."
"You worry too much darling." Mom said, taking a break from unpacking as well. "Just don't go outside and stay here. Which shouldn't be hard for you because you engross yourself in reading and writing."
"You can't just keep me in here." I said. "I may not go outside that often but I need that every once in a while."
"You need to make up your mind." She said. "It's either that you're scared of this town or you're going to face it head on like I am."
"I'm not arguing with you anymore." I said, picking up the boxes that contained all my books and the ones that contained all my journals with all the stories that I've written over the years in them. "This is really stupid."

*****

A knock on my door came while I was in the middle of an intense writing session after I had just gotten done with an intense reading session. I needed friends. But for once I actually had an excuse for not having friends, which was this town was all new to me and I didn't know anyone.
"Come in!" I called, finishing up a sentence (I hate ending my writing sessions mid-sentence because I forget where I was going with it almost every single time) and closing my journal.
"Hey." Mom said, opening the door. "Can I come in?"
"Of course." I said.
She stepped inside and closed the door behind her.
"Would you be okay with me going over to an old friend's house tonight?" She asked. "I ran into her earlier while I was out buying some groceries."
"You're going to not only leave me alone here when there's a killer running around in the town but you're going out and you already went out?"
"You worry too much." She said. "I'll be gone all night. Take care of yourself. And don't read too many books. Take a break every once in a while."
"Okay Mom." I said. "I'll be sure to lock all the rooms in the house though."

*****

While I was yet again engrossed in a book, I heard a knock on the door that caused me to almost leap five feet in the air. Making sure to grab one of my mom's guns that she had put downstairs, I crept to the door and slowly opened it. I found a little girl with orange hair and green eyes holding hands with a boy with blond hair with golden eyes. I had never seen anyone with golden eyes before. But this little boy's were beautiful.
"You don't have to point a gun at us!" The girl said, clearly scared out of her mind.
I realized that I still had the gun and lowered it. I wouldn't let my guard down, no matter what.
"It's a little late for you kids to be out so late." I said. "It's eleven thirty."
"We're lost." The girl said. "And we asked the police to help us but they're so focused on trying to find the killer that they brushed us off. And we haven't seen our parents in so long. I think they forgot about us."
I wanted to help these kids. I really did, but I wasn't sure that I could trust them. What if this was a trap?
I slowly started closing the door and said, "Well, I really hope that you find your parents. I've got some things that I've got to get done."
Suddenly, the door swung open and the girl appeared angry. The boy just appeared scared.
Out of instinct, I fired. I made a direct hit, the girl's eye. She fell to the ground, howling in pain.
"Aiden!" She snapped between cries of pain. "Do something to her! Make her pay!"
He looked at me with a look or remorse in his face before he suddenly transformed into a wolf and tackled me. I couldn't shoot because it all happened so fast. And the next thing I knew, the golden-eyed boy had returned. He grabbed my arm in desperation.
"Please, just go with us." He whispered. He sounded like he was on the verge of tears. "Something inside of me clicked inside of me and everything that I've done so far is starting to consume me. But she's still killing and I can't make her stop. Just come with us, and I'm going to try and save her."

*****

I was still scared as Aiden walked me through the woods. He told me that he and Bree, the name of the girl that I shot, were wanted by the police because they were the ones behind all the disappearances and my heart sank.
"We've got someone else at the house too." Aiden whispered. He sounded anything but excited. "His sister died last night in the game."
"D-died?" I stuttered. "I don't know about this."
"Just play along." Aiden said. "You already took out her eye. She'll do much worse to you if you don't."

*****

"Well, at least this fake eye that I have laying around from a pack that I had when I was three will finally come in handy." Bree said as she put the eye, which was the same color of her other real eye, into the socket where her left eye used to be. "I won't let this get in the way of my killing. And no one will ever even know it's fake."
"So, you aren't mad?" I asked carefully.
"No way." She said. "Having a fake eye shows that I went through something to lose it. I mean, I was mad at first but now I love it."
"Oh, lovely." I muttered.
"Aiden, we still have time to spare before midnight." Bree said. "Go take her and introduce her to the guy downstairs."
"Okay." He said. He took my hand and looked deep into my eyes and nodded.

"No!" I heard a shriek of terror when Aiden opened the closet. "Oh, it's you. And you took another one."
I have to say, the guy in the closet was actually pretty cute.
"Relax." Aiden said.
"You're asking me to relax?" He snapped. "You fucking killed my damn sister and you're asking me to relax? And you fucking killed the girl I actually legitimately liked."
"I'm not going to do anything to you." Aiden said. "Bree told me to introduce the two of you."
"Um, okay." He said, still suspicious. "Hi, I guess. I'm Josh. I don't think I've seen you around here. Are you new?"
"Yeah." I said. "I just moved here today. My name is Emily."
"Shit." Josh said. "You just move here today and you're dragged into this bullshit? Wait, why did you move here in the first place? Haven't your heard about all the shit that's been going on around here?"
"Oh yeah." I said. "But my mom's a crazy loon so she moved here anyway."
"Damn." He said. "I'm so sorry."
"Don't feel bad." I said. "But guess what I did?"
"What?"
"You know that girl Bree?"
He nodded.
"She came to my house pretending to be lost and she tried to pretend that she was lost." I explained. "I couldn't trust her so I just told her that I hoped that she could find her parents and she suddenly swung the door open and she looked so pissed. I of course was scared and I shot her."
"Shit!" He said with a smile on his face. "You probably pissed her off."
"Oh yeah." Aiden said. "She was very pissed. Emily actually shot her in the eye."
"No fucking way!" Josh said. "High-five!"
I awkwardly high-five him.
"She has a fake eye now." I said. "It's the left one."
"Too bad you didn't aim for the heart though." Josh said. "Would've put an end to this hellhole."
"It's midnight!" Bree yelled at the top of her lungs.
"Good luck." Josh said, grabbing my arm and looking deep into my eyes. My heart leapt because I hadn't expected him to do that and plus, he was probably the most attractive guy I've ever seen. "Hopefully I'll actually get to see you again."
"Hopefully." I said as Aiden lead me back upstairs. I wanted to slap myself because I knew that I was blushing.

*****

"The game's simple." Bree said as she handed me my weapon, a flashlight. As she was talking to me in a room that had two hallways leading into it, I couldn't help but stare at her fake eye the entire time. "All you have to do is avoid the monsters. They'll come in from the two doors and they'll even be on the bed and in the closet so don't forget about that or you'll be very sorry. Also, if you managed to make it to four AM, the game will change up. All of the monsters will go away and only one will replace them. He'll be pretty tough to beat so don't let your game down at any moment."
"What if I survive this whole thing?" I asked. "Do I get a prize?" I wanted to tell her that when I won (I had faith in myself that I would win this stupid little game that lasted until six AM. Boy, did I have a lot of explaining to do for not only for my mother, but for the police as well. I didn't even know how many people had failed before me and all I knew who died were Josh's sister and the girl he had a crush on.), I would turn her in.
"That is to be determined." Bree said as she slowly crept out of the door. It freaked as she closed it as she possible could.
"The game begins now!" She shouted.

What the hell do I even do? And what the hell am I even fighting?
I tried to listen for any sign of anything coming towards me. When I didn't really hear anything, I went over to the left door and it freaked as I slowly opened it. I turned the flashlight on and something moved from the far end of the hallway when I shined the light out into the darkened hallway.
"Don't you dare run away!" I called. "Come and fight me!"
I stepped away from the door and remembered what Bree said about the closet and bed. I started off by looking behind me. What I can only describe as demon teddy bears with the teeth of a monster from a child's nightmare screamed demonically as all three of them disappeared. I had to catch my breath after they were gone because it all happened so fast.

After that, I headed over to the closet and slowly opened it. I shined the light inside and briefly saw the head of Foxy the pirate, one of the animatronics from the Fredbear line, peek his head out of the closet door and scream the same way that the demonic teddy bears did.
"Why is Foxy here?" I asked, keeping the door shut. "Where did Bree even get a hold of these?"
I willed myself to open the door and I all it took for me to slam the doors shut again was seeing a little bit of his hook on the wall.
"So if that's Foxy," I muttered. "then those demonic teddy bears must be Freddy."
This is too fucking creepy to be real.

After waiting a fair amount of time, I opened the doors and again and shined the light inside. Sitting in the middle of the closet was a cute little Foxy plush.
"What the actual hell?" I asked. "I swear that you were just trying to kill me and you did not look like that."

Nonetheless, I knew the others were coming after me so I made my way over to the right door and I heard a sound that sounded like breathing and quickly slammed the door.
"What kind of game is this?" I asked myself as I held the door close. "And why was I the unlucky one to be dragged into this?"
I opened the door and shined the light out into the hallway. Nothing there.
"Are you kidding me?" I asked. "Am I just imagining all of this?"
I checked to see if the three Freddy Fazbears were on the bed and sure enough, they were. They screamed and disappeared quickly.

*****

This repeated until I looked at the clock and saw it was four AM. I still had two hours to go before this hell, which is an understatement, was over. I prepared for the sudden change, but I really didn't know what to expect.

Suddenly, I got thrown to the ground by a mysterious force. I looked up and saw Fredbear, my favorite animatronic when I was a child. He looked at me, blood staining his sharp teeth.
"Are you the one that Bree said would come out at four AM?" I asked breathlessly. What the hell was I doing? I have no idea. This proves that I've been in this place for way too Goddamn long.

Fredbear got down to my level and slowly stroked the side of my face with a single sharp claw. I resisted the urge to scream and cry as a long scratch formed on the right side of my face. After he reached the very end, he removed the claw and just stared at me.
"Just get it over with." I said. "Don't keep me waiting."
And he obeyed my command. He grabbed ahold of my left arm and began trying to tear it off. I didn't resist holding back a scream of pain this time because it was too unbearable, especially when it came out of the socket. He waved it in front of me, as if showing it off as a twisted trophy. Blood splashed on my face from him waving it around. He placed it down next to me and grabbed ahold of my other arm. He repeated the process with my legs and he piled them on top of my arms and turned my head so I would see my torn limbs.
"Okay, you win." I croaked, my face soaked with tears and my voice hurting from the bloodcurdling screams that I unleashed. "Please, just stab me in the heart and end it now."
He forcefully moved my head back to where I was looking directly into his eyes and my neck began hurting from the sudden and forceful movement.
I felt his claws on my ears and then felt blood as they pierced through the skin. The next thing I knew, I couldn't hear a thing. That son of a bitch had claimed my hearing now.
He waved his bloody claws with my blood on it in front of my eyes before stabbing them. I now laid there, armless, legless, deaf, and now blind. This is a fate that no human should ever have to experience. It felt like days before I felt the last but of blood in my body trickle out of me.
