After we've both had enough, Etan and I decide to call it a night and to meet each other again tomorrow morning after my meeting with Amber which I'm dreading.

I walk back to my apartment and open the door. It's small but it's really beautiful.

Everything is up to date, and by that I mean the last techy stuff you will see out there. There's a cozy couch in the middle of the living room with a small coffee table and a TV in front of it. Then there's a kitchen which is small but has everything I might ever need, including some food already packed and ready, and finally the bedroom. It's small but has a perfect view of the city with a queen-sized bed sitting in the middle, a small walk-in closet, a desk with a chair and another door that leads to a bathroom with a bath tub.

I immediately draw a bath, strip out of my clothes and slowly let the water relax my stiff limbs. After drying myself and wearing my pajamas I step out of the bathroom. I don't even bother to unpack as I walk towards the bed – I'm too tired to do that right now.

Before I can get under the covers and sleep, though, I notice that the window is open. I immediately walk to it and look out. There's nothing there and besides I'm on the 4th floor, it's not like anyone can get in or out without having the ability to fly.

I close the window and draw the curtains, going back to bed. I get under the covers but as I move around I hear something. It's like I'm lying down on a piece of paper. I sit up and look under me and see a small note. I pick it up, frowning, and read it.

Watch what you say. I have eyes and ears everywhere.

At first I think It's just one of the guys from the organization, playing a prank on the new girl but when I don't see anyone jumping out and saying something like "you just got pranked!" like we did in high school, I get worried.

I tell myself over and over again that I have nothing to be afraid of but it's like my brain doesn't want to listen.

I end up lying on my bed, completely awake, thinking of the note that was left on my bed while I was taking a bath. I mean it should've been then right? I didn't see anything before that and the note was on my pillow...

That's when I remember the window. My window was left open. Did someone come through there, leave the note and jump back out? Only if they can fly but the only Supernaturals that can fly are Angels and Fallens. The only problem with this is that Angels never get out of The Sun Walls, which is the only country up North in Kosmos and nothing really gets in or out of it and also only Angels live there, and Fallens, well, there aren't many Fallens in the world. Most of them are sent away to Dark when they are cast out of The Sun Walls, and the rest don't even survive for more than a year before they either die or are dragged away to Dark, completely alive. Dark is the place where Angels, Demons and Vampires go when the die. Fallens, or Fallen Angels, are taken there also if they're found.

So there is no way in Sekuum's name that anyone could've left thins note coming throught the window. So I'm guessing whoever did it came through the door, meaning they could either pick a well-built lock like the one on my main door or that they had a key.

I feel a shiver go down my spine. They definitely had a key.

Now I'm scared.

That's why I don't sleep at all that night. I just lie in bed staring at the ceiling.

If I hadn't noticed the note I would've never found out that someone was actually in my house. Damnit!

That morning when my alarm clock goes off I'm already awake. I drag my body out of bed and wash my face to give myself a little energy to start the day. It's hard considering I had no sleep last night.

I quickly dress and get out, not feeling safe anymore. I take my time going through the very small town and to the Office Building. On my way I notice a road through a park and take it, trying to be as calm as possible. After last night and the note I feel like there are eyes watching my every move. It's safe to say I'm petrified.

So I walk through the park, breathing in the cold morning air and trying to relax. I still have half an hour before my meeting with Amber so I take my time.

After exiting the park I buy coffee from a small café and start making my way towards the Office Building. I'm surprised how early the shops open in Consurrexi but hey, I'm not complaining,

I finish my coffee on the way and am in front of Amber's office exactly on time.

I knock and after getting permission, I open the door and enter. Amber is sitting there, behind her desk, looking exactly the way she did yesterday, only with different clothes on.

I make my way over to here and sit down on a chair in front of her desk.

"So? What did you find out?" She doesn't even bother to look up.

"Etan is my older brother and I am a Phoenix just like him." I'm not really sure about the last part but if my brother's a Phoenix then so am I, unless he's not fully my brother, which is not the case.

"Right. While you were busy doing nothing yesterday, I ran your file through the Commander and, as much as I hate to say this, he approved of you being in Consurrexi." She pauses letting me take that in before she sighs, taking off her glasses and rubbing the bridge of her nose. "He actually asked me to put you through tests to get onto the Rostra, which I don't approve of but have to do nonetheless." She looks at me as if she would throw me out right now if she could.

I'm happy. Scratch that, I'm really happy. I'm making front lines in the battle if I make it onto the Rostra and that excites me. I will have the chance to fight the enemy directly.

"Thank you!" I tell Amber, smiling from ear to ear.

"First don't thank me, thank the Commander who is stupid enough to want you on the team." My mood doesn't change even though her words sting. "Second, you're not on the Rostra yet. You need to prove worthy enough to get on and if you ask me, I don't think you'll pass." My mood dims at that. Seriously, what is her problem with me?

I push the thought away and focus solely on the fact that I'm in and that I have a chance to actually make front lines. That's enough for me.

After grumbling at me to get away, I leave Amber and go to the library where I am to meet Etan to go on with our researches.

I have a lot to ask him still. Like why did his eye color change? His eyes were dark brown like mine and Elon's before he disappeared. How did he get his powers? I want to get mine too.

Instead of Etan I find myself face to face with Doc, who is sitting in a chair, waiting patiently. I don't think what he does is normal but I don't think he knows it or that he can do anything about it.

When he sees me, he jumps out of his chair and I think he might run away from me again but instead he walks up to me, standing only a few feet away.

He doesn't say anything as he takes something out of his pocket and gestures for me to get closer. I do as he says, cautiously and he takes my hand in his. He opens my palm and puts a necklace in it, then closes it and pushes it to my chest.

I look at him wide eyed. What is he planning this time?

He finally finds the courage to speak when he sees the confused look on my face. "It is a necklace with a magic spell on it. As long as you wear it you will be able to use your powers even if your Phoenix genes are dormant. You will not be able to use them to the fullest but; still, you will not be a useless Human." I look at him in wonder. He's not crazy. He's just different.

"Thank you," I say slowly, not knowing what to expect.

He smiles at me and holds his hand out to me. "I do not think we have properly met. I am Doctor Fredrick Hunt and I am a Wizard."

"I'm Evin Tales and, as you know already, I'm a Phoenix." I shake his hand.

He nods his head and turns to leave but I suddenly remember the events of yesterday and I think I might as well ask him while he's here.

"Doc?" He turns back and looks at me expectantly. "Did you see the mark on Elon, my younger brother,'s arm last night?" He nods slowly, as if unsure he's supposed to tell me or not. "Can you tell me what it was?" He shakes his head slowly and I nod in understanding. There are somethings you just can't say.

He leaves after that and I drop down on a chair and start searching while I wait for Etan.
