Chapter Three: [Edited]
Chapter Three
Jeff was still trying to get a hold of air traffic control and there was still no answer. Jeff thinks he can find a larger surface and make an emergency water landing. Jeff was whispering to his father about the emergency landing so Sawn wouldn't overhear their conversation. "You still cannot get a hold of air traffic control?" Gus asked. "No," answered Jeffrey. "Try again," answered Gus. Jeffrey sighed and he tried to get ahold of the ATC, but static electricity was making noises through the radio. Jeffrey said, "Still no answer," answered Jeff.
"Did you try to squawk the 7500," says Gus.
"Yes. Multiple times," answered Jeffrey, sighing, continuing to fly the plane.
Footsteps approached the cockpit once again and Jeffrey closed his eyes and opened them. Gus sighed and he also continued to fly the airplane and Sawn closed the door of the cockpit after entering it. The bomb was gonna go off in a few more hours. The timer of the bomb was counting down rapidly. Sawn took his firearm and he pointed it at Jeffrey. Jeffrey got even more freaked out and was breathing heavily.
"You're still not trying to get a hold of ATC, are you, Jeffrey," says Sawn.
"No," answered Jeffrey. Jeffrey sighed and said, "No." Jeffrey swallows nervously and hears himself gulp.
Jeffrey continued to breathe heavily and he could feel his heart beating really hard. "Good," answered Sawn. Sawn then pointed his gun at Gus. "You keep flying this plane. If I find out your son is getting a hold of ATC, you both die." Sawn said. Jeffrey gave his dad the side eye and turned his head a little bit. Gus nodded his head and sighed.
"Okay," Gus said. Jeffrey closed his eyes hoping for the nightmare to be over. He took a deep breath before letting out a sigh. Jeffrey opened his eyes. "So Gus, what was your relationship with my wife? You killed my wife, and I need an answer," says Sawn, pressing the firearm against Gus's head.
"No relationship, Sawn. I don't know what she looks like or what she does in this world. I never even once met her," says Gus.
"You're lying," says Sawn.
"No, I am not," answered Gus.
"Yes, you're... you... are. That look on your face. You're lying," says Sawn, stammering his words.
"Sawn, Anna may have heard of me, but I don't know what she looks like. I don't know what food she likes, or when her birthday is. As I said I don't know her," says Gus, trying to be calm about the situation with Sawn. Sawn is a criminal. He hates Gus! Sawn is very angry at him!
"Well, maybe I can refresh your memory. Do you remember the week before your trip to Spain, you were spotted with her, my Anna? Yeah, I saw you and her attending a bar together," says Sawn, in a shaky voice.
"Then you pulled out your gun and you killed her," says Sawn, his voice continuing to shake. "Maybe there was another guy who looks like me," says Gus. Jeffrey was so nervous and scared for his life that he began to feel sick to his stomach. Jeffrey was trying to take deeper breaths hoping for the nausea to go away.
"I didn't kill her," says Gus, continuing the conversation with Sawn.
"I still think you're lying," says Sawn. "I know I saw you," says Sawn, sighing.
Jeffrey's nausea began to worsen and Sawn pointed his gun at Jeffrey, and Jeffrey gasped, as soon as he felt the gun being pressed into the back of his head. "Do you know anything about your dad killing my wife," says Sawn. Jeffrey took a deep breath and said, "No." Sawn pointed his gun at Gus again, before he had left the cockpit once again, and pointed his gun at one of the flight attendants and they screamed, including the passengers.
Gus sighed and he turned to look at his son Jeffrey, and he noticed Jeffrey pressing his fist against his mouth, and he had his eyes closed. "Are you alright," says Gus. Jeffrey nodded his head no and said, "I'm gonna throw up," after removing his fist from his mouth, looking for a vomit bag and Jeffrey eventually grabbed a vomit bag from the map cases, and he opened the bag immediately and started throwing up.
Jeffrey gagged and made retching sounds, he also coughed. Jeffrey breathed heavily after throwing up so much and he gagged and threw up again. Gus sighed and he decided to contact the ATC this time. Jeffrey's eyes were teary and he sighed and he grabbed a napkin from the flight suit before he spat in the vomit bag and wiped his mouth with a napkin.
Gus sighed and said, "Dang it!"
Jeffrey looked at his father before facing the vomit bag. "Still can't get ahold of ATC?" asked Jeffrey, sighing. He spat in the vomit bag a couple of times more. Jeffrey squeezed his eyes shut as he could taste the bile in the back of his throat. "Do you need a minute," says Gus.
Jeffrey nods his head no, "No Dad. I'm okay," says Jeffrey. Jeffrey cleared his throat and he threw his used vomit bag away into the sealed trash receptacle on the ground. Jeffrey takes a deep breath and slowly exhales his breath. "You're gonna be alright, Jeff," says Gus. Jeffrey nodded his head and he looked at his father before looking back at the plane's windshield continuously driving the airplane.
Gus nodded his head and he sighed and he also looked back facing the windshield of the airplane as well. As Jeffrey is the First Officer, his dad's partner, he heard gunshots. Jeffrey gasped and he looked back at the cockpit and everyone screamed. "Dad," says Jeffrey, breathing heavily. "Jeffrey, get a hold of them again!" Gus shouted. "I tried! ATC is not responding," says Jeffrey, getting more freaked out. "Jeffrey, do it again," says Gus.
If a gunshot is heard on an aircraft, First Officer Jeffrey must prioritize the safety of the flight deck, immediately secure the cockpit, and initiate distress and security protocols. In this extremely-rare and high-threat scenario, strict adherence to specialized training and established emergency procedures is critical. Immediate actions include flying the aircraft: The first and most critical responsibility for the flightcrew is to maintain control of the aircraft.
First Officer Jeffrey must continue performing their duties to support the Captain, his father Gus, in flying the plane, ensuring a stable and controlled flight path. Jeffrey had locked and barricaded the cockpit door: The cockpit door should already be locked. At the first indication of a hostile act, First Officer Jeffrey must ensure the cockpit remains secure and that no unauthorized personnel can enter. The flight crew is trained to remain on the flight deck and deny entry in such situations. Initiate distress protocol: First Officer Jeffrey, working with the Captain who is also his father, must transmit a "special emergency" signal to air traffic control(ATC).
"Mayday, Mayday, Mayday, this is Flight 5525 once again. Miami Center, Speedbird one two three. Special emergency, special emergency, special emergency. Gunshot on board, squawking seven five zero zero," says Jeffrey, speaking into the radio.
Static was being heard on the radio. "What is going on with Air Traffic Control? Why are they not answering," says Jeffrey, handing up the radio. Gus sighed and he heard banging on the cockpit door and Sawn was shouting. Jeffrey and Gus looked at each other's faces and they continued hearing Sawn shouting and banging the door.
