Chapter 7

"Gidget, not too long ago, I said that if the stupid old bird doesn't want to celebrate his stupid birthday, then there's no need to celebrate it," Chloe muttered, her eyes half open and her left ear twitching. Her striped tail was wrapped neatly around her paws, though the end occasionally flicked left and right. Sitting to the obese gray tabby's right, Buddy and Mel kept their mouths shut but the looks on their faces said they agreed with their friend. The same expression could be seen on Pops, Leonard, Ozone, Snowball and Duke. Sweetpea chirped quietly. Glancing over at his girlfriend, Max instantly recognized the face Gidget used when she was going to rat someone out. He slowly backed away.

Stepping forward casually towards Chloe while the other pets quickly moved away, Gidget looked the tabby cat in the eye. Taking in a deep breath, the Pomeranian pointed out, "Chloe, do I have to remind you how many times Tiberius had to cover for you when Pops was looking for you?" The tabby shook her head while the elderly basset hound looked confused about what he had just heard. Turning towards Mel and Buddy, Gidget continued, "How bout how many times he saved you from a 'killer' squirrel?" The two dogs bowed their heads shamefully. The Pomeranian turned towards Leonard and Ozone now. However, nothing came to mind so she mumbled, "I'm pretty sure you guys needed something from him."

"I usually have him run errands for me," Pops admitted while Duke piped up, "He also grabs things off the top shelves for everyone." Snowball nodded his head in agreement to the mutt's words before pointing at Sweetpea and added on, "The most important thing he has ever done for any of us is be a translater for Sweetpea here." The little parakeet whistled softly, looking guilty. Looking around the room, Gidget stated, "Can we at least do one nice thing for Tiberius in return?!"

"I agree with what you're saying Gidget but there's a slight problem with... all of this," Max spoke softly. Padding over to the fluffy white Pomeranian who was his girlfriend, the Jack Russell terrier went on quietly, "We don't even know when his birthday is. How are we going to celebrate it when we haven't a clue of when to celebrate it?"

"As far as we know, we might've missed it," Duke murmured thoughtfully.

"I know when it is!" Norman squeaked, waving his tiny little paw in the air. Jaws dropping, all eyes turned towards the young guinea pig. "Is there anything ELSE you know about the old bird?!" Snowball exclaimed. Nodding his head, Norman began to list off, "I know his favorite color, favorite movie, favorite songs, where he was born, how old he is, how he's able to make Ozone so mad to the point where he bangs his head off the wall, favorite food..."

"Wait, what was that about me?" Ozone asked.

"Back to the subject at paw..." Gidget piped up, "When is his birthday Norman?" Looking up at the fluffy white Pomeranian, the young guinea pig replied with confidence ringing in his squeaky voice, "Oh right! He said that it was the 22nd of July." Everyone whipped out their phones in unison to figure out what the date was. Looking up from his screen, Pops mumbled, "I can't read this thing. Does anyone else got it?"

"It's two days away!" Chloe cried. Scratching behind his ear, Duke murmured, "This should be interesting. Only two days to plan a birthday party."

"Technically only one cuz we have to get home here before our owners do," Snowball murmured, pointing at the clock on the wall. Everyone who did not belong in Max and Duke's apartment dashed out in a matter of seconds. Running out behind Mel and Buddy, Gidget was already trying to figure out what to do.
