. confrontation .

"Taehyung!" Dream yelped out as her gaze met his worried ones, red and bulgy with lack of sleep and a good deal of crying.
The boy let out a little laugh of relief before tightly embracing her, letting his nose nuzzle affectionately into her neck.
Hoseok felt his heart break a little.
"Okay guys! You can get a room later! This plan need some more moving!" Yoongi yelled from across the room as they snapped out of their trance, feet moving with amazing agility.
As the wind swept across her face, Dream turned towards Taehyung, "So, what actually happened?" she asked, eyebrows furrowing.
Taehyung let out a sigh as he ran across the hall, "Well, after they kidnapped you, they tried to burn the house down with us inside but D.O. might've felt some guilt so he left early with the men. We managed to escape but with burns here and there. Yoongi hatched a plan to save you and here we are!" he chuckled bitterly, "Did they do anything to you?" he asked, lips pursing as he pushed past a door, "and who is that guy over there?"
Dream froze at the rapid asking of questions but gave him a relieving smile, "They just tied me up and left me there and this is Hoseok," she replied through grunts of exhaustion, "he's a friend."
"Enough chit-chat! The exit's this way!" Jeongguk yelled out as his familiar ebony hair came into view, eyes burning with bloodlust. From the looks of the blood splattered on his shirt, he must've ran into trouble with either of the men. His fists were clenched by their sides as he continued leading the group past the security. For a short moment, his eyes flickered to Hoseok, seeming to find him familiar but he chose to trust his sister. After all, she was the leader not him.
As the group approached the exit, no one in sight, everyone began to tread cautiously. The air was too still. Where was everyone?
"Halt!" a voice yelled, clear and bright and filled with authority. It was extremely familiar, though, and Dream couldn't help but mouth his name.
Jin.
"Jin! This is none of your business!" she yelled out, gesturing for the rest to go out, Jimin running towards them from another door and Namjoon climbing out of his escape vehicle to shield their leader. Everyone wore worried expressions, exhausted and weary. Dream gasped a little when she realised that all of them had indeed suffered burns, some trailing to their back, others dancing up their legs. She felt a pang of guilt shoot through her.
The policeman finally revealed himself, a look of surprise painting his features when he noticed his co-worker, "Hoseok?" he whispered out, not believing his eyes.
"Your friend over here tried to take me in after he saw me being kidnapped by coincidence," Dream shouted out to everyone's shock. Taehyung's eyebrows furrowed, lips parting in protest as Hoseok paled, hands trembling. With one large shove, Dream grabbed the boy by his collar and threw him towards Jin, making Hoseok tumble onto the floor rather harshly, a nasty bruise forming around his chin.
Even Jin found the whole situation hard to believe but he quickly picked up his friend, aiming his gun back to the group. But, the whole incident with Hoseok had turned out to be too distracting for the policeman because as he straightened his back to re-aim his gun, Jeongguk had already managed to subdue him, a large blow going straight to his chest as Jimin joined the action, holding down the struggling officer, sending a knee to his jaw in an effort to calm him down. Yoongi had already moved to pull Hoseok away as the younger male duo finally hooked onto Jin's hands, pulling them back and revealing his now bruised and bloody face. Dream sent the two a disapproving stare, a sign that said they were not supposed to do that and Jin was on their side. Apparently, the duo had treated Jin as an outright enemy, going full force without any permission whatsoever.
Sometimes he wondered if he made the wrong choice to take on this job with such a high level of confidence. Jin let out a faint chuckle, letting his arms drop weakly beside his waist, head hanging low to the floor as drops of blood trickled from his lip to the ground, creating a satisfying little crimson puddle.
"I don't care what happened to you," he whispered, voice barely audible yet echoing on the cement walls of the cold lonely building. He looked up, eyes meeting with the other's, gaze softening as he took in the despair they held in their bodies, the wall of confidence they had built themselves, the mask they chose to put on without return. It was crumbling, the whole facade, "It doesn't give you the right to be judge and jury. It doesn't give you the right to kill people!" he yelled out the last sentence as his legs finally gave in and he crumpled on the floor, eyes fluttering as his vision became hazy.
Her voice was like an angel's, coated with honey and sprayed with a layer of dark chocolate mousse, sweet and tender and everything a child wanted and craved. She was the embodiment of a goddess, hair flowing down her waist and eyes tender and loving. And yet, the hatred and rage she cradled within her, the horrors that trapped and murdered her innocence, were still very much present, "We kill the people," she muttered out, kneeling to meet his own eyes, now glazed with a layer of tears, "that made us like this."
He could make the outline of her lips, all plush and sweet and beautiful, and the memories suddenly struck him, of how soft and kind she could be, how she could harbour such care in that world of darkness. He hated how beautiful such a horrid being could seem and yet, his heart still yearned for her, convinced him that she could change.
And that was the last thing he heard before a bang sounded through the building and a pool of blood splashed on his face as his eyes widened in horror.
