Chapter 29

CW: This chapter contains some spice towards the end, enjoy!

Tim sat awake in bed with a lit cigarette between his fingers. He stared ahead at the wall, his mind busy with frantic thoughts. He looked over to you, sleeping peacefully on your side. At least one of you could sleep, this was so anxiety inducing it wasn't even funny. Tim thought of all the things that could possibly go wrong. Having you here wasn't just dangerous for him but also for you. The fact you had even walked in here could mean the end for you, a fact Tim couldn't accept. He was dwelling on something you said earlier, that you had killed again. He sighed and took a long drag from his cigarette. The longer you stayed here the more and more you were becoming like him, a fate he wouldn't wish upon his worst enemy.
He needed to get you out of here before you were so absorbed in the lifestyle of this place that you couldn't turn back. Now that you didn't stay here anymore meant he couldn't protect you as easily as he could before. He was going to get you out of here, whatever it takes. He put out his cigarette, leaving the butt in the clear ashtray on his nightstand.

He pulled the blankets over himself and laid on his side behind you, wrapping his arms around you. He pulled you in close, breathing in your scent. Your presence was intoxicating, more than any substance could ever be. He missed the way you fit perfectly in his arms, like a puzzle piece made specifically for him. He closed his eyes, all the anxious thoughts melting away the longer he held you. For the first time since you left he felt alive, like he was human again. There wasn't a lot that brought Tim pure tranquility in his troubled life, but this however was the exception. Whatever problems came from this he would deal with them tomorrow. You were more important.

A pounding headache began to set in, and the smell of cigarettes tickled your nose. You groaned and pulled the covers over your head, trying to block out all the unpleasantness. Your eyes shot open.

"Wait a minute... I don't have a bed..."

You quickly realized you weren't lying on the uncomfortable carpet floor of Nat's bedroom. You immediately sat up, pulling the covers off of you. Fuzzy memories from last night slowly made their way back to you. You looked to the side and saw Tim sleeping beside you on his stomach. You sat there in shock, you knew you had gotten wasted last night, but not "wake up in bed next to your ex" level wasted. You tried to go over everything you remembered from last night, your hair was still damp from your shower. Just how far did things go last night? Your face heated up. You didn't remember anything happening. Your thoughts were interrupted by Tim beginning to toss and turn. You jumped and shrunk back down. You laid back on your side, pulling the covers over you, hopefully he'd think you were still asleep. He yawned and slowly sat up. Even with your eyes closed you could tell he was staring at you. He leaned over and placed a kiss on your cheek.

"I know you're awake." You sighed and sat up, looking over at him with a faint smile on your face.

"I thought maybe you wouldn't notice." He smiled at you and rolled his eyes. He grabbed your chin and held it gently.

"When are you gonna learn you can't hide anything from me." You scoffed and playfully smacked his hand away. The two of you sat there in silence, not knowing what to say.

"It's nice to wake up next to you again." He looked you up and down and smirked.

"And to see you wake up in my clothes." You crossed your arms and scowled at him.

"Alright man, let's not forget who broke up with who here." Tim gritted his teeth and looked away, immediately reaching for a cigarette. He lit a cigarette and quickly started smoking.
"Struck a nerve there huh?" Tim blew out a cloud of smoke and looked back at you.

"You know I wouldn't have done that if I didn't have to, I love you with every fiber of my being, that hasn't changed." You rolled your eyes.

"Yeah and what exactly is your good reason?" Tim wasn't sure how to answer you. He took a drag of his cigarette and blew the smoke in your face. You coughed and waved the smoke away.

"You know I didn't have to let you in here, and let you take a shower in my bathroom, and cuddle you until you fell asleep." You quickly looked away, feeling your face slowly heat up. He dropped his cigarette in his ashtray and leaned in closer to you, staring you directly in the eyes.

"Why are you even here in the first place (y/n)? Admit it, you miss me." You stared right back at him with a smirk on your face.

"You know if I smoked I'd blow a cloud of smoke in your face right now too." Tim smiled and pulled away, crossing his arms.

"I knew it, you're still madly in love with me! I really did a number on you." You scoffed and rolled your eyes, turning your back to him and getting out of bed.

"I don't need this." You grumbled to yourself. Tim grabbed your wrist and yanked you back down onto his bed. He grabbed your other wrist, positioning himself on top of you. You tried to wiggle out of his grip, but he only held onto you tighter.

"I'm not letting you leave until you admit that you still love me too, I know you do." You were quickly getting tired of this game, it wasn't witty banter anymore, it was just frustrating. You squirmed and fought, trying to get out of his grip.

"Let me go!"

"Not until you admit you still have feelings for me!" He said in a sing-song voice.

"What's your problem anyway?! I Can't keep doing this with you Tim!" You shrieked. He froze, his smile quickly fading away. You tried to fight the tears welling up in your eyes.

"I've been here for you every time you've decided you don't want me anymore! Now you're gonna hold me hostage here until I tell you I love you?! When do I get some reassurance you're not going to break up with me again! I can't keep doing it!" He looked shocked, realizing you were right. Tears began to stream down your face.

"Just let me get over you! I'm tired of you playing with my feelings like they don't matter!" You sobbed, the tears flowing down your face and staining Tim's bed.

"I have these big ugly scars on my back because you told me to leave! You told me you didn't want me anymore... my whole life is different because of you and you can't even give me a real commitment." That last one stabbed him straight through the heart. You were right, you were right about everything. Tim felt like he was backed into a corner, he didn't know what to say. He decided not to say anything. He leaned down and placed a kiss on your lips. Your eyes shot open, and Tim quickly pulled away.

"You're right... and I'm sorry." He got off of you and let you sit up, gently holding your face in his hands, wiping your tears away.

"You deserve the reassurance here, not me." He kissed your forehead, and placed his forehead on yours.

"I love you, and I've got a lot of issues." The two of you chuckled.

"I was afraid the longer you stuck around me or Masky would end up hurting you, and then he told me if they saw us together they'd kill you." Tim wrapped his arms around you, burying his face in your neck

"What are you talking about?" Tim sighed..

"Like I said before, The Operator is going to kill you if he thinks we're seeing each other."

You froze. You remember Tim telling you this before, but you didn't really take him seriously the first time. You thought he was just saying anything to get the blame off of himself. You looked down at your discolored wrist. You didn't know much about The Operator, you thought he was trying to give you a chance at a new life. You didn't know what to believe anymore. Was he really the reason you couldn't be with Tim anymore? You didn't want to believe it, The Operator had only been kind to you this whole time.

"But he's only been nice to me since I've been here... it doesn't make any sense." Tim chuckled.

"You're new, he hasn't broken you yet." Tim pulled away and held onto your shoulders, looking deep into your eyes.

"The Operator is cruel, unforgiving, and ruthless, He doesn't care about you or me or any of us." You looked away.

"He's evil, he's using you... he's using you to torture me, he's been torturing me like this for as long as I can remember and it's only a matter of time before he finds a way to torture you too." Tim grabbed your chin and moved your face back so you'd look into his eyes again.

"He's the reason we can't be together." You tried your best to process what you just heard. If that was true, and The Operator was truly the reason the two of you couldn't be together you had to make a decision the thought didn't even cross your mind. You'd choose Tim.

"What can we do about it?" Tim sighed and looked away.

"I don't know... I'm working on it."

"What do we do in the meantime?" Tim smirked, he shrugged and looked off to the side.

"I don't know, I guess we just have to find a way to be a little rebellious." You raised your eyebrows and smirked.

"And what do you mean by that?" You and Tim stared into each other's eyes.

"I may have a few ideas, if you're up for it." He kissed your cheek, planting small kisses trailing down your neck, and then your shoulders, grazing your skin with his teeth.

"Ohhh, that kind of rebellious~" You giggled. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and he slid his hands up under your shirt, tightly gripping your waist. He slid you underneath him moving his lips back up onto yours. He gently bit your bottom lip, teasing you. He slid your shirt up over your head, and you smiled as he moved his lips back down to your neck. It felt so good to be a rebel.

Toby pounded on the door to Tim's cabin, Tim was supposed to meet him for a morning patrol hours ago.

"W-What an idiot... He t-totally overslept." Toby knocked loudly on the door again, but got no answer. He grabbed the doorknob and jiggled it, the door not budging.

"Stupid t-thing..." Toby held the doorknob and kicked the door open. He looked around at the messy living room, not seeing Tim anywhere downstairs. He rolled his eyes and looked around, checking the kitchen next. The cabin was eerily quiet, until he heard what sounded like Tim's bed shift upstairs. Toby audibly groaned.

"That loser is still in bed! I knew it!" He thought to himself. He walked up the stairs of the cabin, hearing strange noises the closer he got to Tim's bedroom. He began to slow down, trying to listen to what it could be. He walked past the bathroom, failing to see the pile of women's clothes on the floor. He slowly grabbed onto the doorknob of the bedroom, listening for anything suspicious. He heard the faint sound of Tim's bed frame squeaking, and a muffled moan. Toby stood there in shock. No way... He must just be hearing things. He flung the door open.

"R-Rise and shine T-Timothy-" Toby's face went pale white, and he froze. You and Tim both locked eyes with him, equally as mortified. Tim was on top of you, pinning you down, your bottom halves covered by the sheet of his bed. Both of you were covered in sweat and breathing heavily, your neck and chest covered in fresh bruises. You and Tim looked at each other and then back at Toby, who was still standing there completely frozen in shock.

"N-No fucking way."
