Chapter 22

A few months later, we open up to a continent up north where it's controlled by women.

As they are the ones who fight both for the nation and their people and get the victor spoils.

Including men.

There is only one man for every nine women and as a result, men play more of a private role and take no part in public life.

Women with power, take and plunder, as many men as possible. While those without will share the few men left with their sisters and neighbors. This was because the value of a man is much appreciated in this actual sense.

They are jealousy coveted and sold for large sums.

Even leaving or escaping was dangerous for men. As they would be either captured or taken as "playthings".

We see a young female knight, Seraphina, led her party of eight other skilled female knights as they walked through the bustling town. The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the cobblestone streets and the quaint buildings that lined them.

The people of the town, mostly women, went about their daily business, trading goods, and sharing stories. A few children played in the streets, their laughter echoing through the town square. It was a harmonious sight, one that Seraphina cherished.

As they passed through the town, the women hailed Seraphina and her knights with nods of respect and admiration. They were well-known throughout this land, their valor in battle and their commitment to protecting their people earning them the utmost respect.

One of the knights, a seasoned warrior named Elara, approached Seraphina with a report. "Commander, the patrols at the northern border have reported increased activity from the neighboring kingdom. It seems they are eyeing our resources again."

Seraphina furrowed her brow in concern. The neighboring kingdom had often sought to expand its territory, and Seraphina's duty was to ensure the safety of her land. "Thank you, Elara. Gather the others, and we will discuss our strategy tonight."

The party continued through the town, their presence a reminder to the townsfolk that they were safe under the protection of these valiant knights. Seraphina couldn't help but think about the men in their society, living a life of privacy, their worth measured differently. It was a world with its own unique challenges and complexities, one that she had grown to understand and respect.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Seraphina and her knights made their way to their headquarters, ready to face the challenges of their world, one where women held the power and responsibility of safeguarding their land and their way of life.

The next morning, high above the skies of the continent. We see two dragons soared gracefully through the clear morning skies, their massive wings catching the sunlight as they glided in formation. Their presence was a majestic sight against the backdrop of the vast continent below.

Flying alongside them were the modern marvels of human aviation, a JSDF F-35 fighter jet and a USAF F-22 Raptor. These cutting-edge aircraft showcased the blending of traditional and advanced technologies.

As the four flew, they had conversation about last night's basketball game against the US Army Rangers and JSDF Rangers.

The dragons were also wearing specialized headsets so they could join in on the conversation, too.

The pilot of the JSDF F-35, Captain Aoki, grinned as he spoke into his headset, "That game last night was something else, huh? The US Army Rangers put up quite a fight."

Captain Rodriguez, flying the USAF F-22 Raptor, chuckled in agreement, "Absolutely. Our JSDF Rangers gave them a run for their money, but it was all in good fun. These inter-military games are a great way to foster camaraderie."

One of the dragons, its deep voice resonating through the headset, rumbled, "I must say, watching you humans play basketball is quite entertaining. The agility and coordination required are impressive."

The other dragon, in a more playful tone, added, "But if you ever decide to organize a basketball match for dragons, we're ready to take on the challenge."

Captain Aoki laughed, "I'd love to see that! We'll need to find a court big enough to accommodate you two, though."

Captain Rodriguez nodded, "And I'm not sure if we have jerseys in your sizes."

The dragons let out a harmonious, rumbling chuckle, the sound reverberating through the headsets.

All of a sudden, a magical lightning bolt hits both the dragon with a playful tone's wing and Captain Aoki's left wing on his F-35. This causes both to spin out of control.

"CRAP!" Captain Rodriguez yelled, "Aoki! Eject! Eject!"

The sudden, unexpected lightning strike sent shockwaves through the cockpit. Captain Aoki fought to regain control of his F-35 as it spiraled downward, his fingers swiftly moving to execute emergency protocols. With a tense breath, he pulled the ejection lever, and the canopy was blasted away. He was catapulted from the plummeting aircraft, his parachute deploying just in time to slow his descent.

Simultaneously, the dragon, its wing scorched from the lightning bolt, roared in pain and surprise. Struggling to stabilize its flight, it fought to stay aloft as it descended toward the ground.

Captain Rodriguez, meanwhile, skillfully maneuvered her F-22 Raptor, trying to maintain control amidst the chaos. She reached for the radio, her voice tense as she called out, "Aoki, do you read me?"

Back on the ground, the other dragon watched in alarm, its eyes fixed on the sky as its companion and the downed pilot faced a perilous situation.

The on the ground transforms itself to it's demi-human form. He was wearing olive green combat clothing with jungle boots.

He winced in pain as he looked at his damaged wing, "Dammit all."

Landing close by was Captain Aoki as he was parachuting from his aircraft seat, "Jaden! You okay?!"

"Not really. Whoever hit my wing is a excellent marksmen." Jaden said as Captain Aoki inspected his damaged wing. "Are you armed?"

"Just a pistol with two extra mags." Captain Aoki said.

As Aoki examined Jaden's wounded wing, he couldn't help but feel the weight of their situation. They were in enemy territory, and without their aerial firepower, they were at a disadvantage.

Jaden winced again as Aoki inspected his wing. "It's not looking good," Aoki said, his voice grim. "We need to find shelter and figure out our next move."

"Agreed," Jaden replied, his eyes scanning the terrain. "We can't stay out in the open like this."

Captain Aoki quickly scanned the surroundings, taking note of their situation. "Any idea where that lightning bolt came from?"

Jaden, still wincing from the pain in his wing, shook his head. "No clue. It was like it came out of nowhere."

Captain Aoki quickly assessed Jaden's condition and the damaged wing. "We'll need to get that wing looked at, and fast. But we can't stay here exposed like this. There could be more attacks."

Just then, they heard the sound of approaching footsteps. Both of them tensed, ready to defend themselves if necessary.

It was then Seraphina and her knights came up to them. Both Aoki and Jaden were somewhat relieved seeing them, but still kept frosty.

It was a good thing they kept frosty as Seraphina and her knights pointed their swords at the two demanding them to surrender.

However, unlike the men the knights are used to that have the courage to fight back. Was a shock as Aoki fired a warning shot with his pistol.

"Back off! BACK THE FUCK OFF!!" Aoki yelled having his pistol trained on any one of the knights that get too close.

Seraphina and her knights, surprised by the sudden resistance, hesitated for a moment. It wasn't often that they encountered such defiance from men in this land. They had grown accustomed to complete submission.

Seraphina, her expression hardened, spoke in a commanding tone, "Lower your weapon, or we will use force."

Captain Aoki maintained his stance, his pistol unwavering. "We're not here to fight, but we won't be taken as prisoners either."

Jaden, though in pain, spoke up as well. "We're soldiers. We'll defend ourselves if we have to."

The standoff continued, neither side willing to back down. It was a precarious situation, and the outcome remained uncertain.

Two knights did get a little close, but Aoki quickly fires two shots at their midsection, penetrating their armor like a hot knife through butter.

This greatly shocks Seraphina and her knights as the two downed knights yell in pain getting shot.

They quickly retreated, taking cover behind trees and rocks, their expressions a mix of fear and disbelief. They hadn't expected such a fierce response.

Seraphina, maintaining her composure, shouted orders to her remaining knights. "Hold your positions! Do not engage. We need to assess the situation."

Meanwhile, Captain Aoki and Jaden kept their guard up, pistol ready, as they watched the knights' reactions. Jaden's wounded wing throbbed with pain, but he tried to push through it, focusing on the immediate threat.

It was a tense standoff, neither side willing to take the first fatal step. The situation hung in the balance, and the next move would determine their fate.

Aoki quickly hands a medkit to Jaden so he could patch his wounded wing, "Thanks."

It was then that Aoki noticed that Seraphina and her knights were somewhat close to the downed F-35 jet.

Not only it was leaking fuel. But also it's missiles and ammo was still untouched.

Aoki saw the fire getting close to the fuel tank, "HIT THE DECK!!!" Aoki yelled at Jaden as he saw the jet, too and dove for cover.

Seraphina and her knights looked back at the jet...but it was too late.

The moment seemed to slow as the fire reached the F-35's fuel tank. An explosion of immense force erupted, sending a shockwave through the area. The sound was deafening, and the blast knocked trees down like matchsticks.

Aoki and Jaden, having taken cover, were shielded from the worst of it, but the heat and pressure from the explosion were still intense. They braced themselves against the ground until the initial fury of the blast subsided.

As the dust and smoke cleared, the charred wreckage of the F-35 lay scattered across the area. Seraphina and her knights, who had been closer to the jet, were caught in the blast. Their armor was scorched, and some of them were injured by flying debris.

Jaden, despite his wounded wing, moved to assist the injured knights from a distance, while Aoki kept his pistol ready, unsure if the blast had incapacitated all of them.

Seraphina, though shaken, emerged from the wreckage relatively unscathed. She looked around at the aftermath, a mix of relief and anger in her eyes. This encounter had taken an unexpected and devastating turn.

Seraphina looked to her right to see Elara missing a arm and a few other knights also missing limbs and body parts due to the explosion. One knight was pinned to a tree with a broken piece of the jet.

But the second two knights removed the piece....

The knight died immediately as the piece held the knight in place as both the top part of her body and the bottom part split in two.

The scene was a horrifying testament to the destructive power of the explosion. The injured knights struggled to cope with their injuries, and the loss of their comrade only added to the grim atmosphere.

Seraphina, her anger momentarily overshadowed by the immediate crisis, quickly assessed the situation. She knew they needed medical attention urgently. Without hesitation, she gave the order to her remaining knights.

"Those who can move, help the injured. We need to stabilize them as best we can and get them to safety," she commanded.

The knights, despite their own pain and shock, followed Seraphina's orders. They worked as a team to provide what aid they could, using whatever materials were available to create makeshift tourniquets and splints.

Aoki and Jaden, still wary but seeing the knights' desperate need for help, offered their assistance. Aoki approached Seraphina cautiously. "We have some medical supplies. We can help with the injured. Just let us know what you need."

Seraphina, though initially hostile, recognized the sincerity in Aoki's offer. "Fine. Help if you can. We need to save lives here."

With the situation growing more dire by the minute, a fragile truce formed as they worked together to tend to the wounded knights.

With the urgent need to stabilize the wounded knights, Aoki and Jaden quickly set to work, improvising bandages and dressings from the knights' torn clothing. The knights themselves, despite their injuries, cooperated as best as they could, gritting their teeth through the pain.

Aoki leaned over one of the wounded knights, his hands steady as he worked to staunch the bleeding from a deep gash. "Hold still," he instructed, his tone firm but reassuring.

Jaden, meanwhile, was assessing another knight's broken arm. "This is going to hurt, but it's necessary," he warned before setting the bone as gently as he could manage. The knight winced and clenched her teeth but nodded in understanding.

Seraphina watched their efforts, her initial hostility gradually giving way to a reluctant acknowledgment of their skills. She couldn't deny that Aoki and Jaden were making a difference in this critical situation.

As the makeshift bandages and splints were applied, the injured knights' conditions stabilized somewhat, although they were far from out of danger. Seraphina turned to Aoki and Jaden, her expression still tense but less hostile.

"We need to get them to safety and proper medical attention," she said, her voice reflecting the urgency of the situation. "Can your people help with that?"

Aoki nodded. "Yes, we have means to transport the injured. We can coordinate a medical evacuation."

Seraphina hesitated for a moment before accepting the offer. "Fine. Do what you can to save them. But know this: our truce is temporary. Once they are safe, we are still enemies."

Aoki and Jaden exchanged a glance, understanding the fragile nature of their alliance.

Jaden stands up and launches a fireball like a flare.

Next, they hear the sounds of vehicles and a convoy of US Army 75th Rangers, JGSDF, Russian Army and Wolf demi-humans. Originally, they came for Aoki and Jaden. Because when they saw the knights they drew their weapons at them demanding them to dropped their swords.

Seraphina hesitated for a moment before her a some of the knights dropped their swords in surrender. Aoki went to talk to the commanding officer of the convoy, while Jaden was assisted by a US Army human medic and a JGSDF Elf medic.

The commanding officer looked at Seraphina and her knights before sighing. He approached her as Seraphina prepared herself to hear what the man has to say to her.

"Is there a nearby town/village that we could send and treat your knights at?" The commanding officer said.

Seraphina wasn't prepared for that, but responded. "There is. But remember, you're our captives. Any wrong move, and we won't hesitate to defend ourselv-"

She was cut off as many of the soldiers pointed their weapons at her.

"I think I'm the one who is suppose to say that you're OUR captives. Any wrong move, and we won't hesitate to defend ourselves." The commanding officer said in a calm but stern manner.

Seraphina gritted her teeth, clearly frustrated by the sudden shift in their situation. She glanced back at her surrendered knights, who now found themselves at the mercy of these new arrivals.

Despite her reluctance, she had little choice but to cooperate. The situation had quickly escalated beyond her control. "Very well," she conceded, her voice tight with anger. "We'll lead you to the village where our knights can receive treatment."

The commanding officer nodded and signaled for his troops to lower their weapons. "Good. Lead the way."

With a sense of tension hanging in the air, Seraphina and her remaining knights began to lead the convoy towards the nearby village. As they moved, she couldn't help but wonder how this unexpected turn of events might impact the ongoing conflict between her world and these interlopers from another realm.
