Chapter 20
The initial shot from Chris's M27 signaled the beginning of the battle. The crack of gunfire echoed through the air as the Demi-Human defenders unleashed their own volleys of arrows, spells, and various melee weapons. The Holy Knights, clad in their armor and brandishing swords and shields, charged forward with fervor.
Chris's next move was quick and decisive. Seeing a group of Holy Knights forming a tight formation, he swiftly attached a HE 40×53 mm high-velocity grenade to his M203 Grenade Launcher. He calculated the trajectory, adjusted his aim, and then pulled the trigger. With a whoosh, the grenade launched from the M203, sailing through the air and landing directly in the midst of the Holy Knights.
The explosion that followed was powerful and devastating. The concussive force sent Knights flying, armor and bodies torn apart by the blast. The battlefield was momentarily obscured by smoke and debris. Chris's calculated shot had decimated a significant portion of the approaching enemy force.
As the smoke began to clear, Chris wasted no time. He switched his attention to his M27's main barrel, firing off controlled bursts at the remaining Holy Knights. His accuracy and skill proved invaluable as his shots found their marks, dropping Knights one by one.
Kwela and her fellow Demi-Humans fought fiercely as well. Arrows whizzed through the air, finding gaps in armor and striking Knights with precision. Elemental spells cast by wizards created fiery explosions, adding chaos to the battlefield. The Russian Dragon Knight, Alexei, transformed back into his draconic form, unleashing bursts of flame upon the enemy ranks.
Above them, the Ukrainian Mil Mi-28 Havoc attack helicopter circled menacingly, its autocannons and guided missiles raining destruction upon the Holy Knights. The Dragon that had answered Chris's signal also took to the skies, diving down to engage with powerful breath attacks that engulfed the enemy in flames.
The Holy Knights, once a formidable force, were now reeling from the combined efforts of Chris, the Demi-Humans, and their powerful allies. Their formation shattered, their ranks dwindling, they struggled to regain their footing amidst the onslaught.
In the heat of battle, Chris's radio crackled to life once more. "Lance-Corporal Towson, this is Captain Towson. We've got you on our radar. Hold tight, reinforcements are en route," Anthony's voice came through, carrying a note of relief.
Chris couldn't help but feel a surge of pride and determination. With his allies and the combined strength of the Demi-Humans, they were holding their ground against the Holy Knights. The battle was far from over, but their determination to protect their home and each other burned brightly.
Soon, reinforcements came. It was Chris' infantry battalion, followed by a few V-22 Ospreys, UH-1Y Venoms, Mi-24 Hinds, JGSDF AH-64D Apaches and a couple of Bees and Wasps Demi-Humans.
The marines, soldiers and airborne Demi-Humans begin taking out Holy Knights left, right and center.
Coming out of one of the V-22 Ospreys, is Chris' older brother Anthony Towson and his platoon Sergeant. Chris rushes up to Anthony and salutes him, "Lance-Corporal Towson, reporting in, sir!"
Anthony salutes back to his brother, "At ease, Lance-Corporal."
Chris relaxes and looks around for a bit then ask, "Where's my platoon Second Lieutenant?"
Both his platoon Sergeant and his brother look at each other before answering in unison, "Special court-martial."
"Let's just say your sergeant sent me vivid details of your mission and how highly risky it was and it ordered to by high command to not send troops by themselves no matter what. That Second Lieutenant of yours disobeyed a order from command and tried to put the blame on you. Luckily, your platoon, your platoon sergeant and myself caught wind of this before the Lieutenant could report it." Anthony explained to Chris.
"So in other words, the Second Lieutenant was a fucking asshole." Chris deadpanned as his platoon Sergeant and his older brother nodded. Kwela and her fellow Demi-Humans came up to the three wanted to know who the two Chris was talking to.
As the Demi-Humans approached, Kwela, still a bit cautious, studied Chris and his companions. It wasn't every day that their settlement witnessed such advanced weaponry and strange alliances. However, she also noticed the camaraderie and respect between Chris and the two newcomers.
Chris turned to Kwela and gestured towards his brother and platoon Sergeant. "Kwela, these are my brother, Captain Anthony Towson," he said, pointing at Anthony, "and my platoon Sergeant." He pointed at the older marine next to Anthony.
Anthony and the platoon Sergeant both nodded respectfully to Kwela and the other Demi-Humans. "We're here to help. Your settlement is under our protection now," Anthony stated firmly, his gaze encompassing the settlement as a whole.
Kwela exchanged a glance with her fellow Demi-Humans, sensing the sincerity in Anthony's words. "We appreciate your aid. We've faced many challenges from the Holy Knights, but your arrival has turned the tide in our favor," she said, her voice holding a mixture of gratitude and determination.
Chris's platoon Sergeant stepped forward, offering a hand to Kwela. "Sergeant Ryan Marshall. It's an honor to stand with you all," he introduced himself, his expression firm but friendly.
Kwela hesitated for a moment before reaching out and shaking the platoon Sergeant's hand. "Kwela Sheesha. I am the princess of the Dark Elf realm," she replied with a nod.
Anthony looked around at the diverse group of Demi-Humans, understanding that this was a pivotal moment. "We're stronger together," he said, addressing both the Demi-Humans and his fellow marines.
As the battle raged on and the combined forces fought back the Holy Knights, the unity between humans and Demi-Humans became more evident. A bond formed on the battlefield, forged in the crucible of combat, and it was one that would undoubtedly shape the future for both sides.
The Holy Knights found themselves increasingly outnumbered and outmaneuvered, their lines began to crumble. The combined might of the human military forces and the Demi-Humans proved to be overwhelming, and the Holy Knights' zeal began to waver.
Finally, realizing the futility of their situation, the Holy Knights began to lay down their weapons and raise their hands in surrender. Anthony Towson and the other leaders of the allied forces stepped forward to accept their surrender, signaling to their troops to hold their fire.
However, what happened next shocked many on both sides. Kwela, the dark elf princess, and her fellow Demi-Humans from the settlement turned their weapons on the surrendering Holy Knights. With cold determination, they began executing the Knights one by one, ignoring their pleas for mercy.
The allied forces stood in a mixture of shock and disbelief, uncertain of how to react to this unexpected turn of events. Anthony exchanged a glance with Chris and his platoon Sergeant, all three sharing a perplexed expression.
Kwela's eyes blazed with a fierce intensity as she moved among the surrendered Holy Knights, her sword dripping with blood. "For the atrocities you have committed against our kind, there will be no mercy," she declared, her voice unwavering.
Anthony approached Kwela cautiously, his tone firm but measured. "Princess Kwela, I understand the anger and pain your people have endured, but this is not the path to justice. We are allies here, and we must uphold the values of honor and compassion," he said, trying to appeal to her sense of reason.
Kwela's grip on her sword tightened, and she looked at Anthony with a mix of defiance and sorrow. "These men have brought only suffering and death to our homes. They have shown no remorse or mercy. They do not deserve our compassion," she replied, her voice carrying a weight of bitterness.
Anthony took a step closer, his gaze unwavering. "Retaliation will only perpetuate the cycle of violence. We can bring them to justice through lawful means, show the world that our unity is stronger than their hatred," he argued.
Kwela's eyes locked with Anthony's, and for a moment, there was a silent exchange of understanding. Slowly, she lowered her sword, her anger still palpable but tempered by his words. "Very well, Captain Towson. We will yield to your counsel," she said, her tone carrying a mixture of resignation and determination.
With Kwela's decision, the executions ceased, and the remaining Holy Knights were disarmed and taken into custody by the allied forces. As they were led away, the settlement's Demi-Humans watched with a mixture of relief and lingering anger, their hearts torn between seeking vengeance and embracing the path of unity that Anthony had advocated.
The events of that day marked a turning point for both the Demi-Human settlement and the allied forces. The alliance between humans and Demi-Humans had been tested in the crucible of battle, and it was clear that their path forward would require understanding, compromise, and the difficult choice between seeking retribution and pursuing a lasting peace.
A few days later, we see a Rockwell B-1 Lancer conducting a bombing run over the Holy Empire Capital. After that, rockets and missiles from M270 MLRS, M142 HIMARS, M777 howitzers, BM-21 Grads, RM-70s, TOS-1s, BM-30 Smerchs and PHL-03s.
The skies above the Holy Empire Capital were filled with the roar of engines as the B-1 Lancer streaked across the sky, leaving behind a trail of destruction in its wake. The ground trembled beneath the onslaught of rockets, missiles, and artillery fire unleashed by the allied forces. Explosions erupted in rapid succession, engulfing the city in flames and billowing smoke.
Buildings crumbled, streets were torn apart, and the once-proud capital was reduced to ruins under the relentless bombardment. The sheer magnitude of the firepower unleashed upon the Holy Empire's heartland was a devastating testament to the united strength of the allied forces.
As the smoke and dust began to settle, the city lay in a state of smoldering devastation. The sounds of destruction were replaced by an eerie silence, broken only by the crackling of flames and the distant cries of survivors. The Holy Empire's infrastructure was shattered, its military might crippled, and its symbols of power reduced to rubble.
The aftermath of the assault left the allied forces grappling with the moral implications of their actions. While their mission was to dismantle the oppressive regime of the Holy Empire, the cost in lives and destruction was a heavy burden to bear. The decision to launch such a devastating attack had been driven by a desire to end the tyranny that had inflicted suffering on so many, but the reality of the consequences was a sobering reminder of the complexities of warfare.
A week later, marines and soldiers from the US, New Russia, New China, Australia, Ukraine, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, URK Jamaica, El Salvador and Panama entered the bombed out Holy Empire Capital. Kwela and her fellow Demi-Humans from the settlement also came seeing the destroyed Capital.
The remnants of the once-mighty Holy Empire Capital stood in stark contrast to the vibrant city it had once been. The streets were littered with debris, the air filled with the acrid smell of smoke and destruction. As the allied forces and Demi-Humans moved cautiously through the devastated city, the magnitude of the devastation weighed heavily on their minds.
As they moved, some buildings in the distance continue to crumble down to the ground. Helicopters and dragons flew above checking the areas.
"Hot-damn...We fucked this place up..." Chris said quietly as steps over a Holy Knights' corpse, "Good thing we didn't target the buildings with civilians or buildings with captured Demi-Humans." Chris continues as a few of US Marines and JGSDF are conducting building sweeps checking for either survivors, Holy Knights or captured Demi-Humans.
The building sweeps were tense affairs, as every corner turned, every door opened held the potential for danger or discovery. In the midst of the destruction, they found both grim scenes of fallen Holy Knights and the hopeful sight of survivors, hidden away in the nooks and crannies of the ruins. Each encounter underscored the complexities of the conflict, as the forces of good and evil had clashed with devastating consequences.
Chris and Kwela spot a dark elf children hiding in a basement, but duck their heads from the basement window. Chris whistles to a few Russian and US Marine Private-First-Classes and nodded his head to the building of the basement. They nod and they slowly approach the door of the building.
Before one of them was about to kick open the door, a female cyclops from Kwela's group uses magic to quietly open the door. The Marines look at them, then at each other and nods as they slowly and quietly enter the building.
Inside the basement, they find a group of scared and exhausted dark elf children huddled together. The children's eyes widen in fear when they see armed marines entering, but the marines make sure to lower their weapons and offer gentle smiles to ease their anxiety.
Kwela, Chris, and the Demi-Human group stay outside to ensure that no harm befalls the children. It takes a few moments for the children to realize that these soldiers aren't their enemies, but rather potential saviors.
One of the US Marines crouches down, holding out a ration bar and a bottle of water. He speaks in a soft and reassuring tone, "Hey there, it's okay. We're here to help. You must be hungry. Would you like something to eat?"
The dark elf children exchange wary glances before one of the older ones steps forward, her voice trembling as she replies, "We... We are hungry. But who are you?"
The US Marine smiles kindly, "We're marines here to make sure you're safe. You can call us the good guys."
Another US Marine adds, "We're here to help you find your families and get you to a safe place."
Slowly, the children begin to approach the Marines, their hesitancy giving way to a glimmer of hope. As they munch on the ration bars and sip from the water bottles, the tension in the room starts to ease.
Meanwhile, Chris and Kwela share a nod of approval as they watch the scene unfold. It's a small victory in the midst of devastation, a reminder that even in the darkest times, acts of kindness and compassion can make a significant impact.
It wasn't just that, many of the captured Demi-Humans that were found by the marines and soldiers were seen either getting first-aid, munching on MREs and drinking from water bottles.
While the Capital survivors and Holy Knights were zip tied and put on the back of transport trucks to be sent and trialed for their crimes.
As the survivors were tended to and the captives were secured for their impending trials, the marines and soldiers worked tirelessly to ensure that order was restored and that those responsible for the atrocities would be held accountable.
Chris and Kwela continued to observe, their shared nod carrying a silent understanding of the significance of these moments. Each small victory, every act of kindness, and the promise of justice served as a glimmer of hope for the future. It was a reminder that even in the face of darkness, the indomitable spirit of humanity and the resilience of the oppressed could prevail.
Soon, Anthony Towson and about 30 Marines from the US, New Russia, New China, Australia, Ukraine and South Korea entered the completely bombed out castle of the Holy Empire. Their objective was to kill/Capture royal family.
As they moved, they spotted a large hole leading to what looks like a underground prison.
"Gunnery Sergeant Fernandes. Take half and investigate what's down there." Anthony ordered Gunnery Sergeant David Fernandes.
"Oorah." David replied as he led 15 of the 30 Marines inside the hole. The first thing they noticed is that the prison is holding Demi-Humans like Vampires, Elves, Dark Elves, Cyclops, Orcs, Goblins, Dwarfs, Lamias, Beastmen, Lizardmen, Spider Women, Ant Demi-Humans, Harpies, Bee Demi-Humans, Wasp Demi-Humans, Mermaids, Wolf Demi-Humans, Dragon Wolf Demi-Humans and a few humans.
"If I find any of those royal family bastards. I'll fuckin' gut them like cow in a butcher shop." David said in anger seeing the conditions of the Demi-Humans as him and the Marines began open the cages and freeing them.
Meanwhile, Anthony and the rest of the Marines continue searching for any of the royal family. They come across a injured Rabbit Demi-Human maid that's under some debris, "Get her out safely." Anthony said as the Marines proceed to do so.

If she was a maid here. Then she'll know where the royal family is in this bombed out castle.
With a swift and compassionate response, the Marines carefully extricated her from the debris, ensuring her safety. As she regained her composure, the maid's eyes held a mixture of fear and gratitude.
Anthony's stern gaze softened as he spoke to her, "You're safe now. Can you tell us where the royal family might be?"
The maid hesitated for a moment, her gaze flickering as if torn between trust and uncertainty. Finally, she nodded, her voice quivering as she provided the information they sought. Anthony listened attentively, his expression firm as he absorbed the details. The fate of the royal family held crucial significance not only for justice but for the stability and healing of the land.
With the information in hand, Anthony turned to his Marines, his voice commanding, "We have a target. Let's move quickly and decisively. Remember, we're here for justice, not vengeance. But a little bit of vengeance."
The scene was one of resilience, unity, and purpose. Amid the shattered remnants of a once-oppressive regime, the actions of these soldiers stood as a testament to the better future they were fighting to create. Each step forward was a declaration that even in the face of darkness, the light of compassion, courage, and justice would guide their path.
Soon, Anthony and the rest of the Marines find the room where the royal family located. All 14 of the Marines positioned between the doors of the room, "Toss a flashbang in there, then a frag." Anthony whispered as one marine had the flashbang ready and one had the frag grenade ready.
"Get to throw on my countdown." Anthony whispered, "Five.....Four.....Three.....Two.....One. NOW!!"
As the countdown reached its final moments, the two designated Marines expertly carried out their orders. The flashbang grenade was thrown into the room, its blinding light and deafening sound disorienting those within. Almost immediately after, the frag grenade followed suit, its explosive force aimed to incapacitate any potential threats.
With the room in a state of chaos, Anthony and his team burst through the doors, their weapons trained on any hostile figures. The flashbang's effects were still reverberating, causing disorientation and confusion among those within. The royal family's panicked cries and shouts filled the air as they struggled to comprehend the sudden intrusion.
"Down on the ground! Hands where we can see them!" Anthony's command rang out amidst the chaos. The Marines swiftly moved to secure the room, ensuring that any threats were neutralized while also preventing further harm to the innocent.
Amid the turmoil, the determination and training of the Marines shone through. Their actions were calculated, their intentions clear: justice would be served, and the reign of tyranny would come to an end. The room, once a symbol of power and oppression, was now the site of a pivotal moment that marked the beginning of a new era for the land and its people.
15min later,
We see royal family being escorted out the castle by gunpoint to a Boeing CH-47 Chinook. A couple more Chinooks, Bell V-280 Valors, Sikorsky UH-60 BlackHawks and Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallions dropping off medics and corpsmen for the rescued Demi-Humans to get medical attention.
As the Chinook with the royal family takes off, Chris and Kwela look at each other.
"You fought well and quick, Towson." Kwela said as she smiled at him.
Chris takes off his, "It's one of the reasons I enlisted. And please, call me Christopher. Chris for short." Chris said returning the smile.
Kwela's smile widened, and she nodded appreciatively. "Christopher, then. You and your comrades have shown incredible courage and dedication in bringing an end to this tyranny. Your actions have made a significant impact on our world and the lives of so many."
Chris nodded back, a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie settling in. "Thank you, Kwela. But this was a joint effort, and it's not just us. Your people, the Demi-Humans, showed strength and resilience that truly inspired me. We all fought together for a better future."
As the helicopters and aircraft continued their operations in the background, the two shared a moment of mutual respect, knowing that their paths had crossed in a pivotal time and that their collaboration had brought about positive change. It was a testament to the power of unity, even in the face of adversity, and a reminder that the bonds forged in the crucible of battle could extend beyond the battlefield.
