Nandini wakes up with a jerk and sees Manik sleeping with a frown on his face. She released her hand from his grip carefully without disturbing his sleep. She caressed his forehead and removed the frown.

And got up from the bed.

Then with great difficulty she went to the wash room and washed her face and looked at her own image on the mirror in front of her. A pale and tired face. This is not the life she wanted. She wanted a peaceful normal life with a loving family.

Last few days she was living with a hope that the child living inside her can give a happy life for her. She didn't care that the father of the child was not a person whom she loved. For her he was just a sperm donor. At first she was not even ready for a child. She was even ready to abort her child. Then when Manik got to know about this he made her understand that she can't take a life just like that.

She started to love her child. She could not bear  the feeling of loneliness. She, with the support of walls, went out of her room. Her tears did not stop flowing from her eyes when she climbed the stairs. She reached the end of the balcony. She looked down and everything seemed blurry and small. She closed her eyes and jumped from the hospital building._

Manik woke up from his sleep screaming Nandini's name. Nandini too woke up listening to his voice. She  looked at his sweating face. He hugged her so tightly that she felt suffocated still she didn't want to push him. She can clearly see how afraid he was and she was sure he was behaving like this because of some bad dream.

Manik composed himself and got assured that Nandini is safe. All that he saw was just a dream and he was trying his best to deal with the situation. He sat straight and drank the water Nandini offered. He told Nandini to freshen up. She went to the bathroom. She brushed her teeth and washed her face.

When she entered the room, Manik was lost in some thoughts. She touched his shoulder. He turned towards her in a jerk and looked at her. She asked him what happened and he told her to take rest and informed her that the nurse just came to tell that the doctor will be here for rounds and maybe she will be discharged today itself if she is fine.

She sat on the bed and watched every single move of Manik. He looked stressed. Soon the doctor entered and checked her vitals and she told Manik to take care of her. Manik asked about the discharge and the doctor told that she needed to be in hospital for 2 more days so that her wounds would heal properly. Then the doctor changed dosages of some medicines.

Manik went to Sam's house and knocked on the door and saw that it was open. He went in and saw that Sam was unconscious and he was holding an alcohol bottle. Manik went inside and took all the things that belonged to Nandini and went  to his flat and kept everything there and took some dress for her. Then he went to the hospital.

Nandu was sleeping from the time Manik left and when she woke up Manik was back. He was sitting beside her on the chair. She sat on the bed and  asked  him that where he was and all. After talking for some time Manik got food for both of them from the hospital canteen and fed her. After having medicines they discussed what they were going to do after leaving the hospital.

Nandini wanted to talk to her parents. She tried to contact them but they were not ready to talk with her or see her. She asked Manik to meet them once and explain to them about the happenings. Manik tried to make her understand that if they are not ready to face her now, she should give them some time. But she was being stubborn. Finally he agreed.

Two days passed in a jiffy. After getting discharged Nandini wanted to go and stay with her parents and not to be a burden for Manik. But Manik knew that her parents were not going to accept her. He went there last day to talk with them but Sam already went there and filled their ears against Nandini. That bastard made them hate her. Manik tried to clear things up but they didn't even want to hear him.

He didn't tell this to Nandini since he didn't want to make her sad. But since morning she was adamant that she wanted to go there. She had some confidence that her parents wouldn't abandon her. But things happened the other way around. They insulted her and told her that they don't want a daughter like her. Nandini was completely broken.

Manik somehow got her to his flat and told the last day's incident and told her to be strong and prove to them that you were not like what Sam has portrayed in front of your parents. Nandini could not bear this at all. She lost everything. Her parents, her child, everything. Still she was finding some reason to live. She didn't want to suicide or take her life for something which was not her fault.

Nandini told Manik that she wanted to file a complaint against Sam for domestic violence and wanted divorce from him. Manik told her that he had talked with a lawyer and tomorrow they can meet him. Finally Manik was a little bit relieved that Nandini is trying to move on.

He wanted to protect her from all the things which could harm her. He  could not understand whether it is love or possessiveness. His heart and mind was fighting some kind of battle. Nandini's case was a little bit different. She was finding a reason to live and somewhere she wanted him to be the reason. She knows that she has started falling in love with him. But didn't want to bound him with her responsibility.
