Chapter 1

Lyn Storm

-Flashback-

"Let's break up." The last word that came from his mouth made me freeze to the ground. "...w-what!? Why?.." I asked him as tears came rolling down my cheeks.

"Don't be silly, I don't want you anymore. I'm fed up of you, you and everything related to you. Let's just move on, it'll be good for both of us." He yelled at me, his brown eyes turning red. The person with whom I felt the most comfortable with, is now like a stranger.

"I'm sorry if I've done anything wrong...We could work it out together...I-I'm sorry." I pleaded as I feel down on my knees, couldn't take the reality. "Its over now. I don't wanna see you ever again. Its over." He yelled even louder banging on the walls of the living room. I stood up from the cold floor with the help of the couch, I looked up at him with teary eyes and asked him again for the last time...

"What have I done to deserve this? Tell me what is my fault." I yelled my lung out at him as tears rolled down my eyes nonstop.
"What fault? Huh... Don't be naive Lyn I never loved you from the beginning well I admit that I loved you when I first met you but...what happened to the real you? This isn't the Lyn I knew, I loved... Its over. Goodbye." He turned around towards the door before glancing at me one last time and threw the couple ring on the floor and with a loud bang he left.

"....please..please d-don't leave me Dave...please..." I cried at the closed door where Dave was standing a moment ago. It was raining outside as I sat there crying in the cold dark living room. I looked at the ring that was laying on the carpet floor.
After hours, which felt like centuries, I realized that it was really over. Everything was over between us, our happy times and warm memories of the past three years of our relationship, just got shattered into pieces within a minute.

I walked up towards the bookshelf where the pictures of us together on our first date, first vacation and all the other wonderful moments were kept with care. I threw all of them on the floor as I screamed my lungs out. I kicked them again and again in an effort to express my anger, disbelief or perhaps helplessness. I plopped on the floor when my eyes met the blazing fire in the living room.

I walked towards the fireplace and threw all the pictures of us, all the memories of him in this house....and watched it all burn down into ashes. The winter rain was still falling, as if imitating my countless teardrops.

-Six months later-

"Hey Lyn! What are you doing later on today?" A girl around 5'8" with her long curly golden hair and angelic eyes asked me. "Huh..nothing as special same old routine. "What about you, Suha?" I replied while packing my bag as my part time job was over.

"Then why don't you come with us to the karaoke. It'll be fun and yo-" I cut her sentence in the middle "can meet someone new." I completed it and she winked at me playfully.
She says that every single day.

"Say yes~" she deeded with her puppy face and I couldn't reject. "Argh OK fine...but this one's." And my reply was yes and every time she win, so I had to follow her everywhere. What a life!

I was determined to start my live with the opening of a whole new chapter. A fresh restart with a decent part time job, a decent university and two crazy best friends. I threw all the memories related to Dave at the back of my brain. Undoubtedly, I'm regretting my 20s.

-After an hour-

"I'm going out mom!" I yelled out to her but no sound came. So I walked out closing the door shut behind me and got into my car. As I got inside I started looking at the mirror to see if my looks were great or not. I was as always wearing a loose shirt with ripped jeans, a matching side bag with my jet black hair tied into a messy bun. I started the engine and drove to my destination.

Reaching  my destination I walked out of my car and spotted Nash, who was wearing a white sleeveless crop top with black tight jeans and heals as usual with her red wine straight hair. She was standing there blankly while looking at her phone again and again. I walked closer to her.

"Hey Nash!" I called out to her. She was startled then waved back at me with a mild smile.
"How are you? You got so busy that you can't even have time for me anymore." She pouted at me and poked my cheeks. I just returned a sorry face. We waited for Suha and some other classmates while chatting about this and that.

We waited for nearly half an hour. Then we heard Suha calling us from a distant. We waved back at her.
She was wearing a blue shirt and shorts with her curly golden hair bouncing on her shoulders running towards us with her boyfriend Jake Collins who was a handsome tall man around 6"1 with messy brownish hair wearing a shirt matching with SooA's and jeans. Jake was our school's playboy, he proposed to Suha last year in front of the whole school and I still can't believe they are still together.

We hugged each other while Jake shook hands with us.
"Woah~ You finally came. I thought you forgot us solos." I mockingly added.

"Lol...Jake planned this, not me." She replied looking at Jake. And Jake winked at her. "Argh!! You lovebirds stop doing that in front of us..." I told them and Nash also joined me "We both here are still single.." Nash added.

"Sorry I forgot that my friends here are still lonely souls." Jake teased us with his sarcastic smile.

We all went inside the karaoke and went inside the room where some of our high school friends where waiting for us. There were Jung Hana and her boyfriend Jasper Wang, Mark Melvin and Kabblo, he is from Thailand and his real name is really big that I don't remember. So we call him Kabblo in short.

There were sodas and beverages and some snacks on the table. We all sat down while Mark and Lee sang a duet song with their sweet voice. The rest of us cheered for them and ate the snacks and laughed.

It was my turn after Jasper and Hana's duet love song, SooA's solo, Nash's ballad song. Only Jake sat there fixed his eyes only on Suha. I nervously went up and chose a song; my all time favourite song Hopefully Sky. (The song is at the beginning)

I soon found myself singing with all my heart and when opening my eyes, I found all of them looking at me with awe.

After I was finished they all clapped in unison. "Why were you all giving me a surprised look when I was singing?" I asked them curiously.

"You sang after many years but your voice was still as good as in high school." Mark replied. I blushed at his compliment. We then started packing all our things and was ready to go home.

I walked out of the Karaoke and bid goodbye to all of them and made my way back to my car. Starting the engine I drove back to home.

"I had so much fun after a long time." I said to myself as I kept remembering the things we did today.

Author's note
So many of your comments said that why was her address changing so much? So when I was writing this I didn't get to check much.
So when the flashback was happening she was living in a apartment with her boyfriend. Later after the breakup she moved to her parents house. I hope this cleared you all.

If you liked it share, like, and comment.
