Kabir's POV

We ordered pizza of our choices and in the meanwhile I called Raj.

"Hello, Bhai," he greeted me.

"Hello, Raj. Are you enjoying there?" I asked.

"Yes, Bhai. We played a lot," he told me and a smile formed on my lips.

I am glad that he is enjoying.

"When will you come?" he asked after some time.

"I will come in few hours. Okay then, bye. Enjoy. I just called to ask about you," I said.

"Bye Bhai. I love you," he said and as always whenever I hear those words I don't know how to react.

"Bye," I bid him goodbye and cut the call.

"Is he enjoying?" Kavya asked as soon I cut the call.

"Yes. He is happy whenever Shalini Aunty's grandson visits." I loosened my tie and sat comfortably.

"I never went to played with somebody or went to somebody's house when I was young so I send him there and try to give him freedom which I never got," I told her as I rested my head against the sofa.

After so many years, maybe this is the first time I am not thinking about my hotel, or what if I do a mistake and dad's name will get tarnished.

"Why? We used to go and play with our friends or our friends used to come and play with us."

"Dad wanted me to excel in studies and my vocabulary and he wanted me to improve my personality too, so after school there were many classes and on weekend Golf classes and Piano classes," I told her and she was just staring at ne without saying a word.

"Wow!" she exclaimed after few seconds.

'Our lifestyles are totally different. What are you doing here in my house?" she laughed and I also joined her.

"Waiting for Pizza." I replied.

"I used to go to school, then after coming home, I used to play with my friends, and then go to tuition and after that I used to come back home and watch some cartoon till dinner and after dinner, mom used to take me for walk and then she used to read me a story until I fall asleep," she told me.

"You are so lucky. I want to give Raj a normal childhood like you so I never force him to do anything. I could not live my life freely but he can, right?" I asked and she nodded in a 'yes.'

"Because his brother is standing as a shield and protecting him from everything." she said making me surprise.

Nobody has ever said such a thing.

Whenever I didn't bring him to parties I heard people saying that I don't want to be give up my position as the owner of the hotel so I am not teaching him anything or including him in anything but that was not the truth. It didn't even cross my mind. He is our blood and he will get the company if he wants.

And after hearing all this accusations, I decided to take him last year, and he hated it and wanted to run away from there.

"Where are you lost?" she asked.

"You know, for the first time, I am in someone's house. As I said earlier, I never went to any of my friend's house. In high school also, everybody used to do group study in a particular student's house but I never joined them even though I wanted to and in college I was too busy taking care of R---

A knock on the door broke our conversation.

Kavya went to open the door and there were two woman standing at the door.

One, who we met at the elevator and the other one I didn't knew.

"Hello," he greeted them but they were looking at me.

"What happened?" Is everything okay?" Kavya asked.

"We were discussing about increasing the maintenance fee and we thought of taking your opinion too but I guess you are busy so we will come later," the other aunty said while looking at me.

"Okay," she said and closed the door and came and sat beside me.

"They came to check on us, right?" I asked and she nodded in a yes.

"But this is wrong Kavya. You showed me when I was wrong, then why don't you show them?" I asked.

"Because of my dad. He asked me to never fight with the people in society as they are the only ones who will come in my need," she replied and I didn't know what to say.

"Tomorrow they will question me indirectly," she sighed.

"Anyways, we were talking about our childhood." She changed the topic.

But, I was not in the mood.

"Should I tell them on your behalf? This is so wrong."

"This is common, Kabir. I have been in flat system from childhood. I have seen my mom dealing with it, maybe you have not seen it as you live in a mansion," she told me.

"But this is wrong? Who are they to meddle in your life? You can do whatever you want." I said, almost shouted.

"Kabir, calm down. Today when you were pretending to laugh and have a conversation in the party, why were you doing it? Because even if they are wrong you can't say something as you need them for the hotel, right?" she asked.

"But, they don't meddle in my personal life," I resonated.

"I know, Kabir. We have to ignore few things to survive in this world," she said, softly but I was not getting calmed down.

This is not right? How does her husband keep her here with all these weird people? Why doesn't he buy an independent house, instead of a flat, then she can live peacefully without anybody meddling in her life.

Slowly, I noticed a touch and realized that she kept her hand on top of mine which made me realize another thing, my hands were shaking in anger.

"It's okay, Kabir. Calm down," she said again and I closed my eyes and took a deep breathe and opened my eyes and looked at her.

"Are you okay?" I asked and I nodded my head and she gestured at our hand which made me realize that I was holding her hand tightly.

"Sorry," I said and removed my grip from her hand.

"Actually, sometimes my anger takes the best out of me," I told her and she just smiled.

"It happens, sometimes," she said and had a smile on her lips.

"You got so worked up because of me," she stated.

"Yes, of course I will, I don't like seeing you sad," I said and she just smiled.

"Thank you so much but please don't ask the reason of me saying it," she told me before I could ask her.
