A Bet is Settled, and so Much More
~(Y/N)'s POV~
"FINALLY!"
Almost falling off my shelf in Knockout and my berthroom, I slid down the metal pole he installed, much to my inner five-year-old self's delight, which could be hidden inside the wall. I landed on his berth, and jumped from that to a zip line I made myself. Since I ended up going to fast to stop myself (which I always do on the zip-line) I landed with a WHUMP on the pile of blankets, pillows and other soft items in a hidden corner. I felt like a little kid in a pillow fort as I crawled out of the dubbed "Mt. Plush". I unhooked the zip line so that it wouldn't be tripped on by Knockout, or found by anyone who decided to barge in. The metal cord just hung at the edge of his berth where it was seen, nothing special.
Once this was done I started running for the medical wing of the Nemesis, soon finding out that I need to work on my cardio... Suddenly I was starting to feel old, and only at 30! I finally made it, and krept in just as a vehicon was leaving. I saw Knockout welding a large scratch on another vehicon's chassis.
"Knockout!" I tried to holler over his welding, but I wasn't heard, so I tried again, and again, and again. Still I wasn't heard, and I could only guess the vehicon was in a forced stassis since it hadn't noticed me either. I only got his attention after he finished his job.
"Hello darling," He greeted with a crooked smile, "What are you so excited about?"
"Pack your bags Knockout! We're going to Vegas!"
//~\\
Start the Casino music now cause we were there in no time at all! We had several hours until the race started, about 3 to be exact, 3 and a quarter if we wanted to be dangerous. It was being held at night so either the track was going to be lit, or the "No Rules" match was being held in the dark. I hoped it was the dark. I wanted a challenge.
Knockout drove around at first, trying to find where the race was being held, and I oo'd and aw'd at the lights. In all my life I never thought I'd come to Las Vegas. Even if I lived in Nevada.
"Where is the race again?" I heard Knockout ask, pulling me from the pretty lights that drew in tourists like moths.
"Um... oh just take a right and we'll find it! Turn off your lights though... I don't want anyone to know we're coming just yet."
Knockout did this and we went around the darkened arena a couple times before leaving, finding other things to do while we wait.
"So... where to first?" Knockout asked.
"I honestly don't know! There's just so much here... I'm honestly on a bit of a sensory overload..."
"Well, let's start there."
He pulled up to a car show, two black Ferrari's at the front door.
"How come I didn't notice that before...?"
"You did say you were on a sensory overload." Knockout chuckled, parking at the front door.
I got out of his passenger seat, watching as his holoform fizzled into existence and got out of his driver's seat. I found that he looked rather dashing in his red and black Tux. A parking valet offered to take the keys, of which Knockout gave... wait since when did he have keys?
"Since just before we left." He read my mind. How does he do that?!
He offered his arm, of which I took as we entered the brightly lit building. As we walked in, I couldn't help but feel Knockout's eyes on me... did I have something in my hair?
"Where did you..." he cleared his throat, "Where did you acquire that?"
I assumed he meant my dress, of which I was proud to own. I had it made to match him after all. Yes it was revealing, but for once I wanted to match the part of Knockout's girlfriend as a human. It's obvious to those who know on the Nemesis when I'm Wildstryke, but as a human, I look like your average tomboy with jeans and a T-shirt... Not very fitting for the sexy red Cybertronian I called mine. Did he not like it?
"I... I had it made..." Twirling the Decepticon pendant in my free hand, I avoided looking at his face, afraid of what I might see, "I wanted to look the part of your sparkmate as a human... for once."
I heard a sigh, and then a chuckle. I looked up at his face, out of curiosity. This was not the reaction I was anticipating.
"You look like my sparkmate no matter how you dress." He kissed the top pf my head, "Would you like to go back to the Nemesis and change? I can see you're a little uncomfortable. The dress reminds you of the girls who act as 'muses' for other racers."
I shook my head. For once I actually felt pretty in something like this... I just wasn't used to it.
"Aren't I your muse?" I purred, making him chuckle as I leaned into him.
"You are much more than that, my darling."
Together we walked, connected, and never separating as we looked at the many cars of all kinds of vintages. Some of the owners were around, and we talked about what it took to keep them in such shape, swapping secrets with what was best to clean them, much to Knockout's delight. I promised to give him a proper cleaning once everything was over, and we were back in Jasper.
The only down side to the night for both of us was the amount of attention that made either of us jealous. Quite a few girls tried to separate us, and take off with Knockout, but I growled at them. Apparently that's all it takes in Vegas to get a girl off your man. Sadly, Knockout didn't have as much luck when it came to the boys. I say boys because in truth, Knockout was the only man there, and a gentleman at that.
"Come on man, it's Vegas, everyone's a friend, and friend's share."
This guy just wasn't giving up was he? I mean come on, there's how many single girls around wearing less than I am?
"Sorry, but I only remember having one friend, and he's not here at the moment." Knockout replied, bypassing the guy as we walked out of the building, I assumed he meant the Blueberry.
Luckily there were some decent folk around, some were on honeymoons, others were retired elders with nothing to really do. I received many compliments on my shoes, of which I made myself. The wheels would spin as I my heels clicked on the pavement, amusing several people as we walked by.
"Hey, it's almost time to go." Knockout pointed out as he looked at his watch.
"Noted... there you are!"
The valet pulled up in Knockout's alt mode, giving back the keys and opening the door for me, of which I thanked him for. Knockout's holoform fizzled out as he got in, and we were off to find the race track again.
It didn't take long, since it was brightly lit this time. I was slightly disappointed, but no matter! Just an easier win with a lower risk of getting to many scratches on Knockout's paint.
"Sliding over?" I heard him ask, which I answered by sliding into his driver's side.
"Don't I always?" I giggled.
"You are the queen of my driver's seat, I wouldn't have it any other way."
"Knockout you're such a romantic." I laughed some more as we neared the front gate.
Many cars and drivers had come, some to race, some to show off, and others to find a crew, though I doubt even a ninth of them will actually be accepted. We pulled in, and was met with several reporters already, snapping pictures and trying to get a few words from the "Infamous Knockout". I couldn't help but laugh as I pretended to drive through the crowd, waving at the reporters, but not saying anything.
"You're only antagonizing them." Knockout pointed out.
"Better that than conforming." I shrugged.
We were soon parked at the edge, a place we both liked since not many came around. Why this was so was a mystery to the both of us, but it worked in our favor as we waited for the "No Rules" match to start. Our waiting paid off as the call was put out.
"WE HAVE A SPECIAL MATCH FOR YOU ALL TONIGHT!" The host announced, "WE HAVE, IN A NO RULES MATCH, VEGAS' VERY OWN ACE RACER!"
The crowd cheered as a custom painted, standard race car pulled up on the other side. I could tell they worked hard to earn the name Ace Racer as the flashes of delicately painted cards shimmered in the lights.
"THAT'S NOT ALL! TONIGHT, ACE RACER WILL BE UP AGAINST THE COUNTRY'S FAVORITE-"
"Now when did we earn that title?" I wondered out loud.
"BOTH FAMOUS AND INFAMOUS!"
"That one's a given." Knockout commented.
"KNOOOOOOCKOOOUUT!"
Revving his engine, Knockout showed off as the crowd cheered, ready to see some action.
"REMEMBER, PLAY NICE!"
The crowd gafawed, and I was getting tired of the show. I wanted to start!.
"GO!"
And the first game of chicken commenced. It was practically ritual, and as usual, I won, turning so that I was just barely touching his bumper, after he swerved.
"You better have a plan..."
"Are you kidding? I never do!"
Swerving, I was barely missed by the racer in front of me as he braked, allowing me to get in front of him. This was a mistake on his part, now that I could lead him anywhere. I was going somewhat slow as I waited for the guy to catch up. When he did I floored it, and made an almost perfect 90 degree drift, if it wasn't for my opponents failed drift, it could have been perfect, but he clipped Knockout and he had to take control for a couple seconds. That over with, I hid between some debris, waiting for him to show up in front of me... but he never did.
"UH-OH! LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE'S RUN SCARED!"
I knew he meant me... but I had a sneaking suspicion that this racer made it so I would hide... which means he either has someone watching from the stands... or he's like me.
"Knockout do you have tabs on his where-abouts?"
"Yeah... they're on the far side, behind us... and getting closer."
Okay... so he's going to sneak up behind us...
"Tell me when he's just behind us..." I shifted to reverse.
"I would like to point out that I am strictly against this."
"Noted, and being ignored."
When Knockout gave the word, I floored it once again, and we were two seconds to close for comfort as Ace Racer spun out, hitting a large pile of scraps. There would probably be a good size dent in his driver's side door now... meh, it'll buff out.
"WOAH-HO! DON'T LET HER FOOL YA! KNOCKOUT WAS ONLY PLAYING POSSUM!"
"It's Opossum ya nit-wit," I mumbled, getting out of the way as my opponent tried to ram into us. Their judgement was clouded by rage... this would most likely be their downfall.
We played another few games of chicken, and Ace's car had already taken a few beatings. Both mirrors were broken off, his driver's side door was trashed, and hanging, and his windshield was cracked to the point he was looking out of his open door. Meanwhile Knockout had a minor scratch on his bumper and a couple pieces of scrap stuck in his undercarriage. I only know about his undercarriage because he won't stop whining about it.
"Is this over yet?" He asked, perturbed.
"Not until Ace calls it quits, or his car is no longer drive-able, shouldn't take to long... it looks like it's being held together by scotch tape..." I snickered.
Our opponent rolled up in front of us once again. If he wanted another game of chicken I'd be happy to supply it, but it was getting rather boring.
Thankfully, the mundane match it had become reversed as Ace got out of his car, black helmet shining. He raised a hand in the air, his phone in hand, ready to call someone? When he pressed the screen, the entire arena went into a blackout. The sources of light were Knockout's headlights, and several other cars, driving straight towards us at top speed. At least I knew he wasn't like me, and was getting help from in the bleachers.
"How about we blind them first... no one will see you if you transform." I reasoned.
"Or, I can just do this."
Without much of a warning Knockout turned off his headlights and transformed before the lights of the crew could even make his paint shimmer, stepping out of the way, and making them all hit each other, myself being held in his servo. He transformed back to his alt mode, just before the lights came back on. No one could believe the ten car pile up, their target unharmed and about 10 feet from where we were supposed to be.
"You know, maybe we should rename ourselves as 'The Magician'... cause they're all gonna think that we're some Houdini relatives or something."
"Hou-what?"
"Never mind."
Leaning against his steering wheel, I started to close my eyes, listening for the announcement of Ace Racer's loss.
"Um..." For once the host was speechless "I-it appears," His voice was high, so he cleared his throat before continuing, "IT APPEARS KNOCKOUT IS STILL UNDEFEATED IN THE ARENA!"
Since I was already half asleep, Knockout drove for me, though it resulted in my head falling off his steering wheel and hitting his door. With a disgruntled 'ow', I watched as he went to where I would pick up my money. I rolled down his window, and took the large amount of cash, it was enough to need a gallon baggy. Thanking the woman who gave it to me, we were off once again.
"So," I wondered, "Where to?"
"I was thinking... a nice stop by a cliff I saw coming here. The moon is out, and the sun rise will start soon, I thought you might want to watch it."
"Sounds beautiful." I replied, leaning back in his seat.
Closing my eyes, I replayed the match, over and over in my mind until it felt like re-runs of some old TV show. I smiled remembering the ten car pile up.
"We're here."
Looking around, I got out of Knockout's front seat, the first thing my eyes set on was the moon, high and bright in the night sky. I felt like I could touch it.
"You won't have to crane your neck so much if you lay on my hood." Knockout suggested, and I took his advice, though I only sat.
"It's beautiful Knockout." I whispered.
"Not as beautiful as you."
I felt myself raise up suddenly, and strong arms fold around me in a loving embrace.
"Knockout you sneak." I giggled.
"Mm, you know you love me." He said into my neck as he kissed it softly.
I sighed, turning my head so that I could see his face better, having to look up by a small fraction as I sat on his lap.
"Yes, I do. Do you love me?"
"Of course my darling."
"Prove it," I purred, stretching my neck farther as he leaned his own head down.
Our lips met, and he held me tighter. I slid a hand behind his head as I played with his hair. He brought a hand to my cheek, and caressed it, making me sigh in contentment. I was about to pull away but he growled and deepened the kiss further. In truth, I didn't mind, I loved it, and hoped for many more moments like this.
(I'm hesitant on this last part... tell me what you all think... .-. )
