A Bet
~(Y/N)'s POV~
"So, whose this Arachnid?" I asked Knockout, making him scrape a digit across the metal plating of a project he was working on in the med bay.
"A new recruit."
"Oh? Just that?"
He only gave a curt nod as his answer. My suspicions started to rise.
"Sooooo, you gonna tell me a backstory, or something that I shouldn't do around her, things that'll make her angry, or want to offline me."
"That's a long list darling."
"I've got time, we both do and you know that." I sat back in the swivel chair I bought myself during a grocery shopping trip. Folding my legs Indian style, I waited for the story to start.
Knockout sighed, optics glued to his work still.
"Arachnid is Arcee's sworn enemy."
"Wow, something in common already." I grinned.
"Trust me, that's the last thing you want. Arachnid's ruthless, and has no restraint unless she herself is in danger, then she becomes a Starscream level coward."
"You know, the only ones who don't have that ability are Soundwave and Megatron."
"HEY!" Well that got his attention.
"Hay is for horses and the first stage of horse crap, you know I'm right!"
Knockout rolled his optics, and to be honest, it was kinda true, especially if his finish was at stake.
"Anyway, Arachnid had disappeared and now she's back."
"Cool, can't wait to meet her as Wildstryke."
"Please don't."
"Since when did you download manners?"
This earned another optic roll, and an exasperated sigh, bonus as he set down his tool.
"Look, I highly doubt Arachnid is going to take a liking to you."
"A kiss says your wrong."
"That's not a very good bargain," Knockout smirked, thinking me to be rather dumb at that moment.
"Fine then, let's tell Megatron off and kiss in front of him. I'm tired of his constant favors and hungry look, always staring at me like some perv."
"To be honest I didn't think you noticed."
"Please, I just prefer to ignore it, though I think he's up to something."
Knockout nodded, turning around and leaning on the table he was working at.
"It was no coincidence we traveled through that storm. He wanted to keep you here."
"Well he's an aft, so I suspected as much." I huffed, sitting up before I fell backward in the chair, "I don't want to anger him though... Oh! How about another 'no rules' match?" Though we've only done one, so far we were still the talk of the town after coming out of it with only a couple of scratches. Everyone else has ended up with more than enough dents to last a life time.
"Alright, but if Arachnid ends up disliking you, you have to go to the Autobots for a day."
Well frag you too.
"Deal. Shake on it?"
Knockout held out a digit, and we agreed on our terms. I prayed to Primus that she took a liking to me... Though I would have to wait for awhile, since Wildstryke needed a rest, and a few upgrades.
"When will the upgrades be done again?" I asked.
"A few days at most... It's a bit difficult to weaponize your Cybertronian body, considering the blueprints somehow magically disappeared."
I shrugged at this. Not my fault Breakdown said he could watch over them. Should have guessed he would lose them though.
"How come you haven't asked Soundwave, I bet he downloaded them long before the blueprints were given to Breakdown."
"It's not as easy as it sounds, no pun intended," I giggled at this, making Knockout chuckle, "An audience with Soundwave means Megatron will be there too. It doesn't help the mech's Third in Command and the most loyal."
"Well, he's not exactly 100% loyal though."
"Why do you say...?"
I pointed at myself, and grabbed the locket I always wore. It kinda turned into my personal dog tag. Only my name wasn't on it, and instead of showing whose side I'm on, it shows who I would fight for, if it came to that.
"He's not oblivious to my presence, though he acts the part, better then Starscream too," I opened the locket, making the 3-D picture pop up, Soundwave being behind Knockout and Breakdown "If he was 100% loyal, he would have told Megatron that his famous Wildstryke was only a silly copy of a Cybertronian. A fake that only resembles that of perfection."
"It's not fake to me~"
I looked up to see Knockout's faceplate dangerously close to my own.
"I find both of you quite, real. And both more than perfect."
I stayed silent. His close proximity both exciting, and terrifying as his bright, crimson optics bore into my soul. I found myself incapable of replying as I tried to hide myself deeper into the rolling chair.
"What's the matter doll?" He chuckled, "Scared?"
"S-startled, is the word I would have chosen."
He chuckled again, sending ripples down my spine as I shivered from the sultry sound. How I loved his chuckle.
"Your pulse says other wise."
He must have scanned me or something, or heard my heart, since I felt like it could tear out of my chest at every beat. It was all I seemed to be able to hear as his helm came steadily closer.
"You're an awful tease, I hope you know." I glared, playfully.
He pulled away, a devilish grin on his faceplate.
"I try my best, though I must admit, I didn't have much practice while you were away."
"You are insufferable." I giggled, earning an even wider grin.
"I try my best at that as well."
I giggled harder, until I snorted.
Putting a hand to my mouth, eyes wide with shock, I looked to Knockout, who was equally shocked as his lower jaw hung open. We both started laughing instantaneously, until we were both crying through our laughter. I could tell his air vents hurt, my lungs hurt as well, yet we both continued to laugh. This went on for quite some time, until Breakdown came to see what all the commotion was. I fell out of my swivel chair, making Knockout and I laugh harder.
"I-it's nothing!" I said through bursts of laughter, "Just-Just-" I couldn't say anymore as my laughter continued.
"I-it's fine, Breakdown," Knockout wiped a tear from his optic flicking the energon to the side, "Just a small fit. Nothing to worry about."
Nodding, Breakdown left, though skeptical, and frankly rather confused.
Somehow Knockout was able to sober himself as he merely chuckled at my state on the counter near the computers, still laughing as I clutched my stomach in pain.
"Help, HAHA! I've fallen and c-can't get up!"
"Well how about I pick you up then."
He tried to pick me up, but I fell from his grasp as his pointed digits ripped my shirt. I gasped as I saw the floor coming at me at a very high speed, but I never hit it. Knockout had caught me way before my body even had the chance to think about hitting the floor.
"Sorry about that..."
Looking at the back of my shirt, I found it being held together by a thread or two. I was glad it wasn't one of my favorite shirts.
"No worries, I might have fell for you long ago, but that doesn't mean I won't fall all over again."
Rolling his optics, Knockout took me to our berthroom, where he left me to change my shirt. I watched him leave, admiring him. I was SO going to win our bet.
(More to come later on! Thanks so much for the support! Love ya'll! OH! And if you like Kung Fu Panda, I have a new story based off of the events of Kung Fu Panda 2, called The Rightful Heir. Thanks for reading!)
