This is way later then I wanted it to be oops

Recap:

"He can start attending school next week." The headmaster states

"Yay!" Dogost cheers, excited

Mason walks over to me and Nami, opening the door. "Lets go lets go lets go lets go."  He quickly and quietly says under his breath as Dogost happily runs through the door

We walk in silence for the most part, up until we reach the very outskirts of the school, there was hardly even any noise.

But the second we leave school grounds, Nami's phone suddenly goes crazy with message and call alerts, and it doesn't stop until she physically silences it. She looks at the screen and laughs nervously. "Heh.. So about the fact that we don't need to panic yet..."

---Imma leave it on Kanna's POV---

Apparently the school's internet system had completely blocked out any and all messages that Nami received. It usually does this, but who would've guessed that Evi would only send messages to one person. The good news is Thresh has a car so we could get to their apartment soon-ish. But since the apartment is still very far away, that journey gave Nami plenty of time to read the messages out loud and make Mason panic even more than he had been this entire time, which seemed impossible.

At first the messages were just Firo ranting about how bored she was being there with the unconscious mind demon. But after about an hour of silence from the messages, it was obvious Firo was no longer the one talking:

(Want to skip my having fun with ransom messages from a bored mind demon? Flip the pages until you reach a line of EQUAL symbols with the words "Pay attention now" )

"Ha! I told her that I would untie her if she told me the password to her phone and she believed it! I'm not really sure who I'm texting but I assume it's one of her student friends because there are text messages that involve complaining about a class.."

"Anyway, she thought that rope would hold me, yeah no. So long story short I escaped and here we are with your friend tied to a chair that was supposed to hold me. And the rope? it's fire proof! Isn't that convenient? I know cause she's still trying to burn it." This message had a picture of a fire-engulfed angry Firo tied to a chair

"So why is the contact named "Pyrotechnics?" That's kinda a weird nickname.."

"Hold on are you the fire demon one. Probably."

"Damn it! Why are you not responding?! I'm getting bored."

"Here's an idea! Remember when she threw me out the window? What if I did it to her?" When Nami read this message, I thought Mason was gonna faint. We decided not to show him the picture attached to the message, which was Firo, still tied to  the chair, being held outside of the window.

"I'm gonna do it"

"I'm gonna drop her."

"Three"

"Two"

"One" This message had a picture of a grinning Evi

The messages stopped for a few minutes after that, until the next message with an attached picture of an annoyed and still-tied-to-a-chair-Firo laying sideways on the floor. "Never mind it's no fun unless someone tries to stop you."

"It's really boring not being able to use my powers. Just saying. I mean how did you even get one of these things?"

"Must've been expensive."

"Funny thing is I put that patch on her so now she can't use her powers at all!"

"Well at least for the remaining seven hours of this thing."

"Of course I won't be able to use my powers either. But still."

The messages pause for about fire minutes

"I found your pillow fort. I'm surprised I never noticed that, but it is pretty small sooooo."

Twenty minutes pass until the next message.

"Never mind I was wrong! I just went inside and that place is huge! what kind of black magic are you trying to pull here?!"

"Who built this thing? A timelord?! I know one of those and I'm ninety percent certain they can't use pillows to build those things!" (References to two different thinnnggs)

"This is really f**king boring..."

"I mean really."

"I turned on the TV but there's nothing interesting on."

"Do you have any board games that I can destroy?"

"Yeah no. No you don't."

"I found a deck of cards though."

"This is seriously boring"

"I might just kill her out of boredom." Nami didn't read this one out loud because Mason seemed panicked enough

This is where the messages stopped, and that message was sent three hours ago

======PAY ATTENTION NOW======

As soon as we reached the apartment, Mason threw open the door to Thresh's car and sprinted inside, all of us following him

Nami quickly opens the main apartment door and Mason runs past her and into the apartment.

Inside, the chair that once contained Firo is empty, the rope is laying on the floor, the pillow fort looks bigger and the room was absent of any people

"Firo??!" Mason calls, frantic
He grabs the rope from the floor

"...Mason?!" Firo's voice responds from Kanna's room

Mason runs up to the door and I quickly follow him

Firo and Evi are both inside the room, sitting on the floor across from each other.

Mason immediately tackles the unsuspecting mind demon. Firo blinks in surprise as a whole deck of cards goes flying into the air

"Oh- you are SO lucky I can't use my powers right now!" Evi is obviously angry

"Were you playing cards?" I look around the room at the spilled deck of cards

"Umm.. yes?" Firo admits as she laughs a little

By now Mason had tied Evi up again, who was obviously angry. Mason then immediately walks over to Firo and hugs her, much to her surprise

"Why were you playing cards with the mind demon who basically kidnapped you?" Thresh stays out of the room, nervous of the furious-looking mind demon

"You kidnapped me first!" Evi scowls

"I don't know. We both got tired of waiting for you guys soooo.." Firo shrugs

"I'm really sorry we took so long.." Mason sighs, saddened

"Relax, Mason. No harm done." Firo slowly hugs Mason back

Mason doesn't seem to believe her and releases the hug, standing up

Kiki had now made her way into the room and was sitting behind Evi, smiling and braiding small strands of hair into tiny braids with the mind demon's short hair

Evi didn't seem to be to happy about it

"Wait a minute.. "getting bored" is no excuse to play cards with someone who tried to hunt Dogost down!!" Nami looks at Firo, who is looking at Mason with a worried face

"Well I think it is." Firo looks at Nami

"Are you guys still tied up 'bout that?" Evi looks around at all of us with one eyebrow raised. "Really? Only reason I was there is cause I owed the owner a favor." Kiki is about halfway done braiding small separate parts of her hair

"Don't think I'm going to untie you just cause you claim this thing is a misunderstanding." Mason glares at her

"Relax kid, I didn't even hurt her." Evi rolls her eyes as she slowly stands up to get away from Kiki's braiding

"She's telling the truth." Firo assures

Mason decides to kick Evi anyway. Evi falls to the side and her face is slammed directly into Kanna's wall. "That's what you get for tying her up!" Mason yells

"Okay- before Mason decides to kill her, we've got to decide what to do with her." Thresh points out, still too nervous to go into the room.
Evi is surrounded by Thresh's familiar telekinesis glow and she is placed back on her feet, only to be kicked back down by an angry Mason

Dogost chooses now to enter the room and starts to cautiously sniff the agitated mind demon

"Be careful!" Nami warns

"I vote we keep her!" Kiki grins happily

"No, Kiki. We obviously can't just keep her here. That would be kidnapping!" I point out

"Technically she did break into your apartment so maybe if we drop those charges and accusations, she'll promise not to tell anyone Firo kidnapped her!" Thresh speaks from outside the room

"Maybe we could just let her go. I mean now that she has her machine there's no reason for her to come back!" Alice points out

"That's true." I slowly nod in agreement

"If we're getting rid of her then we should throw her out of the window." Mason states

"That's the anger talking Mason." Thresh turns his attention to him

"So what?" Mason's eyebrow twitches

"So calm down. I'm the one who's supposed to make sudden irrational decisions." Firo walks over to him. 
He doesn't seem to have the strength to look at her and looks away, a guilty look on his face.

Firo sighs

"So we let her go?" Alice confirms as she looks around the room

"But what if she comes back? Then what?" I look at Alice

"She probably won't. Mind demons usually only stick around something for the entertainment." Alice states

"One thing ya need to learn about me, I'm not like most mind demons!" Evi's voice is more distant than before and seems to be coming from a different room

Alice blinks in confusion and we all turn to look at the mind demon, but all that's there is the rope Mason used to tie her.

"She... Got away.."

Yes I'm ending it there
Also!! Yes Evi will probably be a more major character in the future, but I don't think she'll ever be a main character

The next chapter(s) will be focused on Mason! Who is Sagemason 's character in this book! Sagemason is a friend of mine and based on what he gave me, I'm actually pretty excited to write this!!

I'm not sure when I will be able to update next but hopefully it will be soon
