THIS IS REALLY LATE AND IM REALLY SORRY BUT IVE BEEN SUPER BUSY LATELY

EVERYTHING WAS CALM AND THEN SUDDENLY I HAD SO MUCH STUFF TO DO THAT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY TIME TO DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN SCHOOL STUFF

I ALSO JOINED A MUSICAL PERFORMANCE THINGY AND IN BETWEEN ALL OF THE STUFF FOR THAT AND SCHOOLWORK UPDATING HAS BEEN HARD

(Also-- cursing starts in this chapter! I will not sensor the word "Damn"
Just cause I dunno that swear word isn't that bad in my eyes *shrug*)

(But some readers don't like swearing, so I will censor)

(Also if you have a character in this book that has a certain reaction to swearing, tell me! cause I want to portray these characters accurately.)

Recap:

"And no- I don't know where Kanna and Kat are!" I answer Masons question

"I could guess where they are." Firo nods, turning to the left where we all follow her, the sound of running footsteps behind us growing closer

Firo runs up to an old looking building and slams the door open without a second thought. She's right, Kanna and Kat are inside, Kanna holding a medium sized bag in her hand. But as Firo slams the door open several of the glass items within the store are knocked off of their shelves and start to fall

Thresh panics but manages to  catch them all, each of them surrounded in a blueish green hue

"Nice save." Nami sighs in relief.

Thresh smiles slightly and nods, then slowly lifts the glass items and places them back on the shelves while Firo tells Kanna and Kat to come with us, which they agree to, running out of the old stone building and noticing our pursuer, who was only a few feet away by now.

"I suggest we run!" Firo quickly turns and runs away from the building, where we all quickly follow her.

(JUST LET ME HAVE FUN WITH THE CHASE SCENES)

We made it back to the more modern plaza and stopped running. At that point we realized the man who was chasing us had suddenly disappeared the second we reached the border between the modern and the long forgotten, without any of us noticing where he had gone

By the time we got to the modern plaza, then to the abandoned plaza, finding our way back out of the abandoned area, then finding our way out of the entire area, and getting back to Kanna's apartment, it was about six o'clock at night. Kanna and Thresh had already started to work on finishing the machine

They were done in less than an hour

That same night we also found out that the school had given up on finding Dogost, which is great on one hand, but on the other hand, now we had to go back and actually go to school like normal people

After the machine was fixed everyone went back to their own place of residence and Nami had decided that tomorrow we would enroll Dogost in school

---Kanna's POV---

(They're still in the apartment (cause duh they live there) so yes this tiny part will only include Kanna, Firo, Dogost, and Nami)

"So wait- you're signing Dogost up for school?" I look at Nami, confused. "And at our school?"

"Yep." Nami smiles

"You do realize that our school is the same one with the psycho ghost hunters right?" Firo raises an eyebrow from her spot on the couch

"Firo's actually right for once, they only stopped hunting him yesterday!" I look at Dogost, who seems surprisingly excited and happy about the idea

"Wait... what do you mean for once?!" Firo glares at Kanna

"It was Dogost's idea, and besides, hardly anyone has seem him in his regular human form, and if they did, they just assumed it was a kid who had gotten lost." Nami assures, smiling. "Besides, if anything bad dose happen, then we'll all be there." She smiles

".... Fine.." I sigh in defeat

"Yay!" Dogost smiles

"I still don't see why you wanna go to school." Firo states, looking at Dogost

"Speaking of "going to school" can you explain to me again why you're not going?" Nami looks at Firo.

"Cause if demon lady shows up again, I'm not gonna let her stroll around our apartment and do whatever she wants." Firo states as she stands up and walks over to me

"You mean Evi?" Nami asks, watching Firo as she walks

"Suuuure, let's address the crazed mind demon by name." Firo rolls her eyes as she stops walking, standing in front of me.

"What are you doing..?

"You said 'for once' soooooo." Firo looks annoyed as she picks me up off the ground, aiming to throw me onto the couch

"What're you gonna do? Throw 'er out the window like ya' did t'me?" A voice from behind me and Firo says, sarcasm in the female voice was obvious

Firo quickly turns to face the person, dropping me in the process. From my place on the floor, I can see Evi, the mind demon, sitting in the same window she had been thrown out of. We had removed the glass and were planning on getting it fixed, but there she was, sitting in the empty window sill with a grin on her face.

Dogost whimpers a bit and hides behind Nami

"Oh great it's you.." Firo rolls her eyes, looking at the mind demon

"Oh great it's me!" Evi grins as she jumps into the main apartment room, spotting the fully repaired machine on a table next to the couches. She blinks in surprise. "Well damn, ya' actually went and fixed it." She looks surprised as she walks over to the machine and laughs. "I really thought you'd just toss it in a dumpster, that's what I would've done." She laughs

My eyebrow twitches as I stand up, aggravated. "You mean we didn't even have to fix it?!"

"Oh no, I would've been totally pissed if ya' hadn't, I'm just telling ya' what I would've done.. That's why I showed up so soon, to make sure you had actually lived up to our little contract." Evi snickers

Firo glares at Evi, reaching for something in her pocket

"Aren't both sides supposed to receive something in a mind-demon contract?" Nami asks

"Relax, I'm getting to that part." Evi grins as she opens the right side of her leather jacket and reaches inside a pocket sewn into the inside of her jacket. Before she can pull the item all the way out of the pocket, she's suddenly tackled to the ground by an angry Firo

Only a second later, Firo stands up but the mind demon does not, a patch with the number 12 largely printed on it was stuck to the mind demons neck, and she was completely unconscious

I look at the patch, then at Firo. "You did not.."

"I did!" Firo grins. "I found one at the plaza yesterday and I knew it would come in handy!"

"Why would you use it now?!" I glare at her as she walks over to Evi, grabbing her arm and slowly dragging her to the middle of the room.

"She was pulling out a weapon!" Firo argues

Nami carefully walks over to Evi's unconscious body and opens her jacket, grabbing the item in her pocket that had been half-way removed. A brown sewn bag is visible in her hand, which she slowly and carefully opens. She then looks inside the bag and her eyebrow twitches.

I walk over to her and take a look inside the medium-sized bag, which is full of several different colored coins. "She was gonna pay us back for fixing the machine..." Nami blinks in surprise, then look at Firo, who has now taken a wooden chair from my room and was busy trying to lift Evi into the chair, but was failing.

Dogost had retrnedto his typical ghost-dog forrm and is currently curiously sniffing Evi

"It's not a gun! It's money!!" My annoyance is obvious

"Well, then she's gonna be pretty angry at us when she wakes up so can one of you please help me out with this?" Firo lifts Evi into the chair and runs back into her room, running back with about three feet of rope in her hand

"Where did you get the rope...?" Nami blinks in confusion

"I've always had this." Firo shrugs as she starts to tie Evi to the wooden chair with the rope

"Why are you tying her up if she's unconscious?" Dogost cautiously paws at Evi's leg as he speaks

"Cause she'll most likely wake up within the next hour, but won't be able to use her mind demon powers cause of the patch." Firo grins. "And I wanna ask her a few questions so feel free to leave and when you get back, then we can decide what to do with her."

"Hmmm...." I glance at Nami, then back at Firo and Evi, then sigh in defeat

I finally finish explaining these events and as we walk down a large hallway, heading to the headmaster's office so we could officially register Dogost for classes

(*ukulele playsing in the background* I don't wanna write them while their in claaaaaaassss* )

"So you just left her there?!" Mason's panic while listening to this story reaches it's limit and he frantically looks around

"Well yeah, we left her there, this whole predicament was caused by here- and she is the one who overreacted and slapped a sleepy patch on that lady's neck." I explain, shrugging

"But you just left her?!" He panics further.

"I kinda wanted to stay just to actually talk to he when she's not threatening to kill us or ghost-hunting me." Dogost admits, smiling happily. Hr had switched back to his human form and he was happily gnawing on an apple from the fruit stand he had visited yesterday at the plaza.

"Up until this point I thought she was just ditching school!" Mason continues to panic

"Well now you know where she really is." Skyler shrugs. "Besides, it's not really a problem until we start receiving ransom messages."

"Okay great then lets take Dogost up there and get him registered for class so we can go check on Firo before we start getting ransom messages!" Mason suddenly grabs Dogost and lifts him into the air, sprinting down the hallway and up the stairs. "Come oooon!"

Kiki giggles as he yells at us to hurry up

"I still don't understand why we have to sign Dogost up for classes right now." Lilly states as we all start to walk up the stairs, following Mason

"Probably as some extra side plot or a translation to some big reveal at the end of this so the author can leave this book on another cliffhanger." Thresh explains, shrugging

"In not fourth-wall breaking terms?" Alice asks, looking at Thresh

"Dogost and Nami both seem really excited to do this, and I think it will be good for Dogost to actually leave that apartment for once instead of living his life where he's constantly hiding away indoors." Thresh nods, smiling slightly, "It'll be good for him to leave that place instead of staying there all the time."

Alice happily nods in agreement as we reach the top of the stairs and me and Nami walk inside the head master's all-to-familiar office room, the others staying outside

As we walk in, we can hear the final words of their conversation. "So you're sure he's not too young to attend this school?" The headmaster asks as she flips through a bunch of papers, reading through them (*more ukulele playing* It's ironic cause she doesn't have a heeeeeaad or eeeeyyyeessss)

"I'm technically two years old!" Dogost smiles. "Which makes me about four or five in earth years."

"Alright." The headmaster shrugs, "I mean I'm technically thirteen in the time measurement of my species soooo."

She hands a folder to Mason and he takes it, smiling and nodding.

"He can start going to school next week." The headmaster states

"Yay!" Dogost cheers, excited

Mason walks over to me and Nami, opening the door. "Lets go lets go lets go lets go." He quickly and quietly says under his breath as Dogost happily runs through the door

We walk in silence for the most part, up until we reach the very outskirts of the school, there was hardly even any noise.

But the second we leave school grounds, Nami's phone suddenly goes crazy and it doesn't stop until she physically silences it. She looks at the screen and laughs nervously. "Heh.. Umm so about the fact that we don't need to panic yet..."

Yeah I know this chapter is a little short and rushed but I really wanted to at least give you something cause I literally haven't updated this book in a month!!!

And I'm really sorry about that I've just been super busy lately

I PROMISE I'll update by next Saturday!!

Also-- If you have a character in this book and want that character to have a specific chapter that is mainly focused on that character, then tell me if you have an idea of what you would want that chapter to be! Because character development!! I probably won't be able to write any specifically dedicated chapters until a week from now so you've got some time to consider what you would want it to be!

Well it's like six in the morning and I slept like two hours but I'm publishing this and probably going back to sleep directly after I do

Sorry again this is so late!

And I'm also sorry that this chapter kinda sucked I promise the next one will be better!!
