Chapter 8

"I'm a vampire."

Those three words caused everything to click in Stormy's mind. Regret already filling his mind, but he had a job that needed to be done. Apparently, Stormy made some form of expression, as Moon immediately jumped to clarify. "I don't mean harm, and I- I won't hurt you-!" "I know." Stormy interrupted, sighing.

"I have something I need to say and do. I'll go get Cookie." He started, walking through the manor and towards Cookie's room. Stormy didn't want to see Moon's expression. He didn't want to think about how much he loved Moon, or what was going to happen.

Entering Cookie's room, knocking on the door, he woke up the young kit. "Cookie, can you head to the Entertainment Room, please?" Stormy requested. Cookie looked at Stormy confusedly, and yawned, getting up.

Stormy dipped his head, and walked over to the Entertainment Room, Moon already waiting. When Cookie arrived, Stormy almost broke into tears. He didn't want to do this. He shouldn't have to do this.

All because of his Mortal Counterpart. Was he not allowed to love?

"So, what do you have to say?" Moon asked. Stormy could easily pick up on the nervousness, and as much as Stormy wanted to ease the other toms in the room, he just couldn't.

"I'm not a fae. My job isn't a detective." Stormy started, looking for the words. "My name isn't even Stormy- I-" Stormy felt like a liar. He's practically betraying them- and that showed on Moon's face. Cookie, however, just looked confused.

With a deep breath, Stormy continued. "My name is Ryoma. My duty was to find you two, you both shouldn't exist- no- I- you wouldn't be like this if it weren't for me- or, well, my Mortal Counterpart." Ryoma struggled with the words. "... What are you saying-?" Moon hissed.

Ryoma flinched at Moon's tone, making this hurt all the more. "We're..." Ryoma trailed off, and just decided to deal with them the only way he knew how. Take them to the Universe himself.

He wasn't going to hurt them- no. He couldn't. Not anymore, not since he started to care about them.

The bright fields clearly caught Moon and Cookie off guard, and Ryoma could see the surprise on Moon's face when he realized he wasn't burning. The surprise grew when Ryoma shifted to his God form.

It didn't take long before some familiar faces joined them in the fields, along with a couple of unknown ones. "Ryoma," Cassian greeted, with a bow.

"What are they doing here?" A ginger molly asked. Ryoma assumed this was Asyra, but he wasn't certain. "I-" Ryoma began but stopped himself.

"They're here to meet the Universe. I- I want the Universe to... be a bit merciful. I cannot kill them, nor do I want to." Ryoma answered, flicking his tail, whilst his wings twitched. "What? You were going to kill us!?" Moon burst out, snarling. Ryoma barely even brought himself to look at Moon.

The regret was even worse now. A darker tom- a new one, stepped forwards, along with a white molly, and a calico tom. All cats Ryoma didn't know. The darker tom started to speak. "Moon, calm down. Uh... Ryoma? Doesn't want to, and if anything, shouldn't have to if it weren't for Patch- Arius and I."

Ah, so this new tom was Nex. The ginger molly- Asyra? Spoke next, something off in her tone. "... They can... Stay. There, in the Endless Fields. You have... attachments to them and seeing what Nex and Arius went through just to bring back Asyra, I wish to not have anyone go through such an event again. It's a pity, really."

And apparently, the Universe can speak through Asyra. Well, wasn't that a surprise?

"And why would we want to stay? We had a life back there; one we're never getting back. If S-Ryoma lied before, who's to say he won't lie again?" Moon snarled at Asyra.

The calico tom snarled. "Don't snarl at my sister, Moon." He warned. That meant this was Arius. Stormy was learning so much. "I know... I didn't get a choice, either. But if it makes you feel better, I'm sure Kolka would at least get rid of Ryoma's love for you? Sorry." Asyra apologized and shrunk back.

Kolka. Who on planet Nawen was Kolka!? Either way, it left Moon thinking, Cookie slowly approaching Alulah to play. "... Fine. We'll stay. Not like we had a choice, anyways." Moon decided.

So, this was it. Ryoma would have to rebuild a relationship with Moon, but now, just maybe, he could finally rest.
