Tree House

Ok so, reality check! My father is most likely dead, I am stuck on an island with a girl, and who knows? She might be a cannibal! Why am I not in a ball crying right now?

"So what now?" we were still walking and my feet still hurt. I don't know why I still had my shoes off.

"Sorry, We are almost there," Rachel didn't turn back as he spoke.

"Where?" I was so curious how she had survived this whole time, 1 and a half years. Wow!

"My tree house! It took me forever to make. It's not too amazing. But it's home for now" Rachel ducked under some branches and I just walked right into them (very gracefully). I wasn't an out doors kind of person.

"Oh, how high is it?" I questioned nervously, did I tell you I was deathly afraid of heights.

"Oh it's surprisingly high. It takes about a minute and half to climb. It is on one of the highest tree on the island." Rachel sounded proud of herself, but I was not not looking forward to the climb.

"That's bloody terrific," I said as non sarcastic as I could. I wouldn't want her to know I was uncomfortable. I could do this.

"Alright, here it is!" she stopped in front of a tree. I slowly look up into the canopy above. I could barely see the blob of light that was his tree house. It was either really tiny or super high. That was the fourth time that day I feared for my life.

"Just start climbing." Rachel told me, as she started up.

"Well, here it goes." I grabbed hold of a crook in the trunk of the tree and set my foot on a ridge. I pulled my self up and did the same again and again. I was doing pretty good. I just kept reminding myself not to look down. I lifted my foot once again and set it on the tree again.

"Don't step on the moss!" It was obviously to late. As my foot set down on the tree, my foot slip on the soft moss and I started to fall. Then a hand reached out to mine in the most convenient time. She had caught me.

"Don't worry, I gotcha." She pull me up so I could stand on a branch.

"Thank you. Holy crap. I could have died." I was breathing hard and hugging the tree.

"Well you definitely wouldn't have died. Maybe have gotten a bruise though." I looked down to where we had recently been climbing. We were only six feet of the ground. Great I have know embarrassed my self way too much in front of this person.

"He he, ya. Ok so lets keep climbing. Shall we?" I wanted so badly to get this over with, sit in a secure place, and talk.

After slipping a couple more times we finally made it to the top. We walked along a thick branch that met with another. And where the branches joined there was the tiniest little wood cabin ever and were lanterns everywhere.

"It beautiful. You made this. It's amazing." There was a chimney and everything.

"Why thank you. It took some work, but it wasn't that hard." I could tell she was proud. "Why don't we go in." Rachel led me to the door and opened it. As I stepped in I immediately felt safe. The warmth and everything made me feel comfortable.

"This is amazing. I can't believe how lucky I am that i found you. I would probably die out here alone. Thank you for helping me."

"I'm just a nice person. That's all. How about we talk. Get to know each other."
