Chapter 30: Vision Quest
Jamie went downstairs to train more with the guys after writing in her journal about the Chimera. Leo went into the woods early for a little training of his own, at least that's what she guessed. So the rest of them were doing regular training.
"All right, team. If you can clobber Kraang, you can crack logs. Watch and learn," Raph replied.
"Aw, yeah. Time for some ninja training, farmhouse style," Mikey said.
"Let's do it," Jamie responded.
Raph started warming up a little, punching midair. April wasn't impressed, but Jamie was. He then snapped three logs in two and Jamie about fainted from it.
"Whoohoo!" Mikey cheered.
"You like that?" Raph asked.
"I know Jamie did," April smirked.
"You are seriously gonna get it one of these days," Jamie told her.
Raph chuckled then moved on, saying, "Your turn, April."
Casey held a plank of wood and stood in front of her.
"Sure you don't want me to soften it up for you, Red?" Casey grinned.
"Just hold it straight. Wouldn't want to miss and accidentally kick that smug grin off your face," April smirked.
"Oh, snap," Mikey smiled.
"Ten bucks that she does exactly that," Jamie whispered to Raph, who chuckled in response.
"Remember, it's not just physical strength that breaks the wood. It's also inner strength," Donnie explained.
"I got this. Heeya!" she shouted as she kicked.
She missed and knocked Casey to the ground, face first.
"Ooh, I wish I could see that in instant replay. How's that mud taste, Casey?" Donnie laughed.
"Pay up," Jamie smirked.
That's when everyone noticed Leo limping towards them until he fell on his knees.
"Leo?" Donnie said.
"Dude, what happened to you?" Mikey asked.
"I had a realization in the woods," Leo answered.
"Going off alone with a bum leg was a bad idea?" Raph guessed.
"No, it's just what I need. What we all need. We're so caught up in T-phones and junk food and TV that we've become at odds with nature. A true ninja must become one with it to master himself," Leo explained.
"Hey, man. You leave TV out of this," Mikey warned.
"Mikey, let it go," Jamie replied.
"Even Master Splinter did it. He said 'Only when you become one with nature can you make peace with yourself,'" Donnie added to what Leo was saying.
"Make peace? What are we, hippies? We're ninjas!" Raph said, with Jamie giggling in response.
"We'll do three days of meditation and practiced awareness in the wilderness, only eating what we can forage," Leo decided.
"Three days? We're gonna live like animals," Mikey freaked out and screamed.
"I think Leo might've taken one too many kicks to the head," Casey commented.
"No, Leo's right. Camping's a great idea. I'm tired of being stuck at the farmhouse," April smiled.
"I'm sorry, April. This trip is ninjas only," Leo declined.
"But I'm almost a Kunoichi," April insisted.
"Yeah, almost," Raph chuckled.
April grumbled. She knew she had a few more years until she's an official Kunoichi, but she would still like to join the guys for this.
"Cool. Looks like we'll be stuck in the farmhouse. Together," Casey smirked, putting his around her.
"No," Donnie whimpered.
Jamie felt a little nervous about this. She decided to tell Raph her feelings when she could, but this soon? This wasn't going to be easy.
Inside, all the turtles were packing for the journey. Mikey was in the kitchen with IceCreamKitty.
"Ah, thanks for the Togo bag, IceCreamKitty. I'm sure gonna miss you while I'm out there getting all natured up. Kitty kitty kitty," he smiled, petting the cat, who purred in delight.
Meanwhile, Donnie was watching April and Casey training in the front yard through the window.
"Okay, I'm all for getting in tune with nature. But those two are gonna be getting in tune with each other," he whined.
"You have to learn to let it go. We all need to leave our worries and fears behind," Leo replied.
Donnie whimpered at the thought. He didn't want to lose April to Casey when they kissed a while back.

A/N They are about to get in tune with nature! But will Jamie be able to confess to Raph how she feels?
