Thanksgiving Special
DEAN P.O.V
"CASTIEL NOVAK. WHERE IS THE TURKEY?!"
"WHAT DID THE TURKEY EVER DO TO YOU, DEAN?!?!" Cas shouts from our room.
I go over to the room in search of Cas and possibly the turkey. When I enter there's no sign of Castiel or the turkey.
"MARCO," I yell
"POLO." He responds from under the bed.
When I crouch down to look under the bed, I see Cas looking at the turkey with his finger on his lips, signaling the turkey to stay quiet.
He pets the turkey and looks back towards the front of the room only to be greeted by my face.
Cas let's out a girly squeal.
"Found the turkey." I say as I reach for the it.
I pull it out from under the bed and Cas follows.
"Dean please! Can't we talk about this?" He grabs my sleeve.
"Talk about what, Cas? It's thanksgiving and eating a turkey is tradition."
"I know it's tradition, but he's my friend." He looks to the ground while holding his hands with a little pout on his face. This is heart breaking...
"Can I give you a 'quicky' in exchange for you not killing him? It's not Paco's time yet." Cas offers up with a hurt puppy look on his face.
"You named the turkey Paco?" I slightly lean in trying to see if I heard right.
"Yes, Dean. His name is Paco." He tries to grab Paco but I move the turkey out of his reach.
"Cas, you didn't have a problem with this last year." I try to make him cooperate.
"Because last year we bought the turkey dead." He raises his voice.
I flinch but try not to make it obvious. "Fine you want me to return him and buy a frozen turkey that God knows how long it's been frozen? Okay." I make my voice match his.
"YOU CAN'T RETURN A FRIEND, DEAN!" Cas starts shouting.
"WHY NOT?!?" Two can play that game.
"BECAUSE IF IT WAS POSSIBLE I WOULD'VE ALREADY DONE IT WITH YOUR SORRY ASS." Now that hurt... he quickly noticed his mistake.
"Dean that's not what I meant... I just--"
"It's fine Cas. Just..." I cut him off and let out a sigh. "See you at Sammy's." I grab my coat and leave him and the turkey.
CASTIEL P.O.V
Oh no what have I done... this holiday is about being thankful not telling the love of your life you wish you could return them to the store.
I don't think I have enough pie left to fix this.
SAM P.O.V
"Lucifer, the only reason you're here is because we agreed to do this at my place and because both families are invited and sadly enough you're a Novak. But all I'm asking for is for your ass to either help with the place or stay in one single place without bothering anyone." I was stressed already.
"Alright, Sammy." He gives up as he sits down.
"Only Dean can call me that." I say under my breath.
"You two are acting like an old married couple. Would you cut it already and help Ellen with the potato salad?" Bobby called from the kitchen.
Most of our family was here already, that included uncle Bobby and his wifey Ellen, and Ellen's daughter, Jo.
Once me and Lucifer are done screaming there's a small knock on the door.
At this point I'm so done with people. I go to open the door and...
Wow.
"Uh... hi I'm Gabriel. Castiel told me the party was gonna be here..." He looks up at me, with rosy cheeks and golden eyes, and hair to match.
"Hi I'm Sam. Come in!" I move aside and he comes in.
"Gabe?" Lucifer calls from the couch.
"Luci!" Gabe throws himself at Lucifer.
"Brother dear how have you been?!?" They hold each other in a warm embrace.
"Oh how I've missed you Lucifer!" Gabe says in a school girl voice.
"I know I've missed you too! How was Europe?" I didn't know they had a brother in Europe.
"Oh good God I've missed you guys every single day but it was fun." Gabe smiles and turns to look at me as if he just remembered I exist.
"So you must be the ex." He acknowledges my presence once again.
"Uh yeah." I'm not sure if he'll be pissed or congratulate me.
"Well just so you know I'm single and ready to mingle." He awkwardly winks and laughs. I join in on the laughing. Lucifer looks mad.
"Anyways." Lucifer cuts in.
"Aw come on Luci, where's the spirit?!" He tries to make Lucifer smile but fails greatly.

Some hours later
~~~
We're all sitting down around the table. Dean is sitting far from Cas.
Cas is barely paying attention to anything.
Ellen and Bobby are being cheesy.
Jo is talking with Gabe.
Lucifer has a hand on my lap which I continue to push off but he continues to put back on my thigh.
"Okay so who wants to go first?" Ellen breaks the awkwardness.
"I volunteer!" Gabriel's hand shoots up in the air.
"Okay, go." Bobby responds.
"Wait first for what?" Gabriel looks confused. Which is amusing and somewhat adorable.
"Share what you're thankful for. It's a tradition the Winchesters have and we go along." Cas says in almost a whisper. Why is he so quiet?
"Oh okay. Hmm I guess I'm thankful for being able to come home and see my family this year." Gabe raises his glass and drinks a sip from his wine. Is he even 21? Who cares.
"Alright who's next?" Bobby asks.
"I'll go." Ellen offers up. "I'm thankful for having another year with my wonderful husband." She says and kisses him, then she takes a sip from her cup.
"Cas, what are you thankful for?" Jo calls out a zoned out Castiel.
"I'm thankful for Todd, and Paco, and bees." "Not surprised." Dean whispers. Cas glares at Dean.
"What are you thankful for, Dean?" He ask looking like he's ready to put on a show.
"Even though I want to hit your rear end, I'm thankful for you. And I'm thankful for all of you and this pie." Wow okay wonder what happened in between them.
"I'm thankful for this hot piece of ass." Lucifer raises his glass and kisses my cheek before drinking half of his drink.
"If you'll excuse me." I say as I get up. He makes my blood boil at times and I don't even know why I also got butterflies. As a wise man once said: balls.
I go to the bathroom and take out my phone.
[email protected]
I'm thankful for you, Gabe. Wish you could be here and things were cool.
[email protected]
I'm thankful for your friendship and you too, Sam. I'm currently eating some weird veggie burgers or something. Gotta love vegan thanksgivings.
[email protected]
I can hear the sarcasm all the way here. Haha
[email protected]
Good. Well they'll think I got diarrhea or something. Bye.
When I come back to the table Dean and Cas are yelling at each other.
"WELL DON'T YOU THINK I DESERVE SOME APPRECIATION AS WELL?" Dean screams.
"MAYBE IF YOU WEREN'T SUCH A BABY MAYBE YOU'D GET IT!" Cas yells back.
"I'M DONE WITH YOU AND YOUR LITTLE GAMES. WE'RE ABOUT TO GET MARRIED AND RIGHT NOW THIS RELATIONSHIP IS A DICTATORSHIP AND YOU'RE THE DICTATOR. A RELATIONSHIP SHOULD BE A TWO-HANDER BUT IT IS ALL ABOUT YOU AND YOUR LITTLE SELFISH NEEDS."
"IF YOU FEEL LIKE THAT THEN WHY DONT YOU JUST DUMP ME WHILE IT'S STILL POSSIBLE?"
"MAYBE I WILL." Dean shouts. Oh God.
"SHUT UP YOU TWO IDJITS." Bobby shuts them and the room goes quiet.
"You guys are fighting like you've been married for 20 years or more but you've been dating for only 4 years." Ellen chimes in.
"Five and a half actually." Cas and Dean say in sync.
"Cas, Dean is right. You have too much control." Ellen keeps on going, she's like a personal Dr. Phil or something.
"Dean, you need to mature a little bit." She adds. "But you two love each other. Don't let a turkey be the end of your beautiful relationship. Now you guys are going to apologize and hug and if you want to sneak a kiss in there, go ahead."
They both roll their eyes but do as they're told.
"I'm sorry Cas. I shouldn't have exploded like that on you."
"It's okay Dean. Next time I'll listen to what you have to say too. I'm also thankful for you."
Dean wraps his arms around Cas' waist and Cas pulls Dean's face towards his. And they just kiss there. It's slow and caring and very cheesy as well.
"Okay that's better." Jo interrupts them and we all laugh as they turn pink.
~~~
Some time later
~~~
Cas is feeding Dean some pie.
Bobby, Ellen, and Jo left.
Lucifer was too drunk to stay so we got him a taxi and he left a while ago.
"Here's my number." Gabriel says as he hands me a business card with his name, email address and number.
We share a small hug before he leaves.
"Well party's over, love birds. Out you go." I start kicking Cas and Dean out.
"Fine ya party pooper." They laugh before grabbing their things and leaving. Hallelujah.
I make my way over to my bed and just lie down in bed and wrap myself with the blankets.
"Goodnight Gabe, wherever you may be." I whisper at nothing. Today was weird as hell but it was okay I guess.
