Fluorescent lights

Bright lights. A sterile, white ceiling. The scent of chemicals.

His eyes widened instantly. A scream built up in his throat as he realized he was back here. Well, he would scream if his vocal chords would work. All that came out was a hoarse squeaking from the exhale of air. He sat up too quickly, making him dizzy as he struggled to get the restraints off of him and the IV out of his vein. The bleached white sheets were the hands of monsters grasping at his legs, dragging him back to hell.

Dimly, he could hear a rapid screech coming from his left, but he was too busy kicking away the demons that were clutching his lower body. Movement came from his left, and he would have fallen off if he were not strapped on. No! Don't get near me! Stay back! Leave me alone! The shadow that approached was here to put him back in his misery.

The shrieking in his head drowned out all of the shouting coming from the figure as he struggled to get away. Soon a needle pierced his skin, the foreign chemical intruding his body. His muscles were unable to move and he fell back on the bed.

The demon standing over him hissed words into the air as consciousness was snatched away from him. "It's okay! You're safe now! Nobody will hurt you now!"

How he wished that they would stop lying to him.
