One week later.

"Mommy, Why are we getting dressed in our nice clothes?" Nathaniel asks.

"Remember how I told you that Danny's parents were in town?"

"Yes."

"Well they're coming over today to meet us, and we have to look really nice!"

"Why? I hate dressing up!"

"You don't hate anything, mister!"

"I hate this!" He lifts his hands.

"Nathan, stop it, please."

"Nathan, it's not so bad! It's just one night!"

"Thank you, Addy!"

"You're welcome, mommy! Oh and I meant to say this before, but you look beautiful!" She smiles.

"Oh sweetheart, you are too nice to me!"

Addelyn giggles. "I am very sweet!"

"Danny's here, mommy!"

"Thanks Addy, I'm coming!"

Jessica hurries over and opens the door.

"Hey!" She hugs him before he kisses her belly.

"Hi Alessia!"

"Say Hi daddy!" Jessica giggles and pushed her belly towards him.

"Heh! Hey kids!" He waves.

"Hey Danny!"

"Hello, Daniel." Addelyn smiles.

Danny chuckles and bends over and grabs Dylan who had crawled over to him.

"Hey buddy!"

Dylan smiles and slaps Danny in the face.

"Hey! That's not nice!" Jessica tells him.

"Mmm!"

"Are you tryin to talk, baby? Are you saying, Shut up, mama!"

"Ma-mmmMa!"

Jessica gasps. "YES! He said his first word with me!" Jessica cheers as she takes him from Danny.

"That's awesome, Jess!"

"Oh Dilly! Mommy's so happy, baby boy! Thank you so so much!"

"Mama!" He smiles and enjoys the attention.

"You made mommy so happy! I love you, handsome!"

"Mama!"

"Oh my baby!" She says in a high pitches voice as she holds him close.

"Mommy, people are here! Woah! That man looks like Danny!"

Danny chuckles. "Those are my parents, Nathan."

"Are they nice?"

"They're very nice!" Danny chuckles and walks over to the door.

"Daniel!" Zoe chuckles.

"Hey!  Come in!  These are the kids.  This is Nathaniel and Addylyn, and that's Dylan over there eating his toys." Danny chuckles.

Dylan yanks the toy out of his mouth and gives him a cheesy smile.

"Oh they're adorable!"

"Yes they are.. and this lovely lady is Jessica." He smiles.

"Jessica!  Oh it's great to finally meet you!  We've heard many great things about you over the years." Zoe walks over and hugs her.

"You look beautiful, darling!"

"Thank you so much, Mrs. Huston." Jessica smiles.

"Call me Zoe!  You can call him John." She smiles and points to Danny's father.

"Nice to meet you." He smiles.

"Nice to meet you too!"

"Look at your belly!" Zoe shouts.

"Ma!" Danny chuckles.

"It's okay, Danny Jessica giggles.

"Do you mind?" Zoe asks holding her hand up.

"Not at all, go ahead!"

Zoe places her hands on her stomach and tears up.
"I'm so happy about this little baby.. she's our first baby girl!  All of our grandchildren are boys!"

"That's what Danny was telling me!" Jessica smiles.

"And her name!  Oh gosh, it's so beautiful!"

"Thank you!  We think so too." Jessica giggles.

"Yes, now why don't we all go and enjoy some of Jessie's delicious cooking?" Danny asks.

"Oh sweetie, you should have let Daniel cook!  You need your rest, dear."

"Oh it's okay!  I wanted to cook for you guys!  Besides, I'm not too pregnant for things like that yet." Jessica chuckles.

The night went really well.  They had a delicious meal, then talked for hours.
Once Danny's parents left, Jessica put Dylan to bed, and sent the twins up to get ready to go to sleep.

"Danny, I can clean up.  Go ahead and go home." She says walking into the kitchen.

"No, no, no!  You go rest!"

"Danny."

"Will you go rest, lady?"

Jessica laughs and sits down at the table.
"Let me at least keep you company."

"Okay!  So.. what did you really think of my parents?"

"I loved them!" She laughs.

"Well that's good.  I was worried."

"Why?"

"I don't know." He shrugs. "I just was."

"I thought they were lovely people."

"I love the way you talk." Danny says with a chuckle.

"What?!" She laughs.

"I thought they were just lovely people!" Danny says mocking her voice.

"Shut up!"

"Why?!  I said I like it!"

"You're making fun of me." She pouts.

"Oh don't get your feelings hurt!"

Jessica frowns and lowers her head.
Danny chuckles and walks over to her and kneels down.  Jessica tries hiding her smile but fails.

"You're laughing Ms. Lange!" Danny tickles her tummy.

Jessica laughs and grabs his hand and kicks her legs.
"Don't do that!" She shouts.

"Ouch!" Danny grabs her ankle then looks down at her foot. "Oh my gosh!" His eyes widen.

"I know, my feet!" Jessica covers her face.

"They're all swollen!" He pouts.

"Yeah!  I've been cleaning and cooking all day, that's why!  Everything swells when you're pregnant!  People think it's just the belly, but it's the hands, the feet, the face, the boobs!  My boobs are SO heavy!"

"Mmm." He nods.

"Don't look at them!" Jessica covers her chest.

"I wasn't!  Come on, let's go to the couch and I'll massage your feet." Danny takes her hand and walks her to the couch.

"Well I'm not gonna deny you the joy of massaging my swollen feet!" She smiles.

Jessica sat down and swung her feet onto Danny's lap before relaxing onto the couch.

"So how are you?  You always have a smile on your face, but I know pregnancy is a bitch!"

Jessica laughs. "Well it's definitely not easy, but it's a lot easier than my pregnancy with the twins, that's for sure!"

"Well that makes sense."

"Oh gosh, I was so huge and uncomfortable!  Of course they were worth it but.. oh gosh, that was hard!"

"To have two of them in there is crazy!"

"I know!" She chuckles.

"You know what's been really hard?"

"What?"

"I'm horny!"

"Oh?" Danny's eyes widened and he freezes.

"Yes!  Every time I'm pregnant I'm not with anyone and it's so unfair!  I was so horny with the twins I had sex dreams about my gynecologist!"

"Heh..."

"They were vivid too!"

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah!  Keep massaging." Jessica wiggles her feet.

"Do you.. Do you have dreams about your new doctor?"

"No.  I have dreams about Sarah.." Jessica looks down as a sad look spreads across her face.

"Oh.."

"Yeah.. I had a dream about the rock last night though!"

"Heh!  Nice." Danny chuckles.
"Well it's getting late.  I should get home."

"Okay."

"Tonight was great." He smiles.

"It was!"

Jessica then walks him to the door.
Danny suddenly stopped walking and turned towards her.

"Jessica."

"Yeah?"

"For the past few months I've pushed my feelings to the side, but I can't do it anymore.  I know you love Sarah, but I can't stop loving you.  I've tried, but I can't!  And now that you're having my baby you're even more beautiful to me!  I don't want our relationship to suddenly become weird, but.. Jessica, I love you so much, and I don't think I'll ever stop."

Jessica looks at him and doesn't speak.

"I know it's stupid.. You Love Sarah!  I tell myself that every single day!
... But it doesn't make it any easier.
Then seeing you with my family.. it just fucked with me even more. You're the most perfect woman in the world, Jessica.... I wished I could be the one to hold your heart.." Danny then lowered his head and walked out shutting the door behind him.

Jessica walked over and places her hand on the door and stood there for a few seconds before opening it.

"Dan-" She shouts  before realizing he's still standing there.

Danny looks at her and Jessica crashes her lips into his.  Danny places his hands on her waist and kisses her back.

Jessica then slaps him and pulls away.
Danny touches his cheek as Jessica softly touches her lips.

"I'm sorry! I shouldn't have done that! I didn't mean... You should go." Jessica sighs.

"Yeah.. I'll talk to you later. I'm sorry.."

Danny leaves as Jessica enters the house and shuts the door behind her. She then slides her back down the door until she is sitting on the ground.

"I didn't mean to kiss him! That was so stupid, Jessica!" She cries. "You don't have feelings for him. He's your best friend and that's all! He's a great man, but you're only feeling this way because you're lonely. Not because you have feelings for him!"

Jessica sat there for a few more minutes before she finally went up to her room. She changed her clothes then got into bed.
One thing Jessica didn't know was that Nathaniel was coming down to speak with her and saw she and Danny kiss. He quickly ran to his room confused as to why she kissed him. Didn't she still love his mother? The thought stayed with Nathaniel until he drifted off to sleep.

*Ding*

Jessica turned to her nightstand and picked up her phone when she heard the text notification.

I miss you. Lunch with the kids tomorrow?

Jessica smiled when she saw Sarah's text.

Yes! I would love that!

Jessica watched the three dots on the screen and anxiously waited for her response.

I'll meet you guys at Millers around noon?

Jessica smiles and starts typing.
