Anakin tilted his flyer to the right, narrowly missing blaster fire from a droid fighter. He gripped the controls of the ship and fired at the fighter, destroying it in seconds. Anakin loved flying and he loved destroying droids with flyer ships from the Republic. He was one of the best pilots in the force and he was a jedi.

Ace was flying with him as part of his squad and Anakin felt safer when he was close. It was weird...no starnge to feel so helpless and scared but Anakin saw no problem with it. Anymore at least. He admitted that he was terrified most of the time when he was in battle but it was hidden underneath all of his anger so he had never noticed it before until now.

Anakin had also added Jett, Mekhi, Aviana and Alia to his squad of clones. Mainly because they were good at their jobs and they were his friends. Rex, Fives and Kix were the ones who had always been apart of his attack squad. Of course Ace was a crackshot and an amazing pilot not to mention Anakin's beloved boyfriend.

Anakin yanked his controls up, narrowly avoiding debris from destroyed ships. Anakin had been daydreaming about Ace; he couldn't do that. Too much was at stake here. Palpatine's life was at stake. Even though personally Anakin couldn't care less if he died or not.

"Okay guys we need to take out the shield generators for the docking department." Ace said through his communicator.

Anakin smiled at his voice, shaking his head. "And then Obi Wan and I'll take care of the rest."

Anakin pulled up beside Obi Wan, who was arguing with R3 and he shook his head, chuckling quietly. It's been a few weeks since Obi Wan's last little episode and lately he's been more like himself that Anakin has started to open up to him again.

"Anakin have you forgotten we have to take out their weopons first?" Obi Wan questioned.

If Anakin were to be honest he did. But he'd never tell him that.

"I'll have to get back to you on that one." Anakin said jokingly.

Anakin veered to the left to avoid a swarm of buzz droids whilst Obi Wan flew into the swarm, and got a few on his flyer. Anakin heard him curse and try to get a few of them off.

"A little help here Anakin?" He demanded.

Anakin laughed and shook his head, firing directly at the buzz droids. Two of them he missed so he used the wing of his ship to try to slide them off but they hopped onto his ship and went after R2, who had pulled out his electric pointer and started zapping them.

"Get 'em R2." Anakin said.

"The eye, R2. Aim for the eye." Obi Wan tipped.

R2 did what Obi Wan told him and both buzz droids were out of commission, floating out into space. Anakin nodded smiling and glanced over at Obi Wan.

"I don't know how you do it, Anakin. Flying these things is going to kill me one day."

Anakin grinned when he saw four more droid fighters flying towards them. "This is where the fun begins."

Fifteen minutes later Anakin and Obi Wan crashlanded onto the landing platform of the ship that Palpatine was being held hostage in. They hopped out of their ships and landed on the platform immediately being fired upon by droids who had been inside at the time.

Anakin blocked every shot with his lightsaber and glanced around for the main hangar doors. When he spotted them he said, "R2 get those doors open!"

R2 made a comment about Anakin yelling but he ignored it seeing as more droids were appearing out of one of the docking doors. Anakin cut down two and Obi Wan blocked fire coming from a deflector droid. They carried their own shield generators so they were hard to kill.

Anakin spun his lightsaber in his hand and stabbed a droid who had snuck up behind him in the chest area. He hated being caught off guard but hey with the Force stronger than ever inside him, he could destroy the droids no problem. But that would be too easy.

Anakin took out the last deflector droid and turned to Obi Wan, who was standing over by R2 telling the droid to hurry up. Rolling his eyes, Anakin walked over just as R2 opened the door. They told R2 to stay in the hangar and rushed down the hallway, trying to be as quiet as possible as they made their way to the ships elevator.

As they got on Obi Wan said, "I have no idea why you put so much trust in that droid of yours."

"R2 isn't just a droid, master. He's my friend." Anakin told him. "Besides, R2 knows as much as I do that I'd be lost without him."

Obi Wan rolled his eyes and sighed exasperatedly. "Of course."

Anakin shook his head and said, "Look I trust R2 with my life and he does more for us than we do for him. Without us asking for it. So lay off him."

He paused. "And no loose wire jokes."

The elevator doors opened and they found themselves on the bridge. Anakin and Obi Wan spotted Palpatine restrained to a chair at the other end of the room. They cautiously made their way over to him and as they started to untie him, he said,

"Count Dooku."

Anakin slowly turned around and looked up. Standing at the top of some stairs was Count Dooku, and two droids. Anakin and Obi Wan moved away from Palpatine and pulled their lightsabers from their belts, igniting them. Dooku forceflipped off of the balcony and landed a few feet away from them.

"This time we'll take him together." Obi Wan says.

Anakin walked around him and said, "I was going to say that."

No words were exchanged between Count Dooku and the two jedi before they all attacked. It was a fight that they had to win this time and Anakin and Obi Wan had to work together in order to defeat Dooku once and for all. They could not fail.

The fight went on for ten minutes before Obi Wan was thrown across the room and left Anakin to fight Dooku alone. Anakin dodged and blocked many of his attacks before attacking with his own. He managed to get behind Dooku's defense and kicked him in the chest, sending him flying backwards.

Anakin didn't hesitate to use the weapon disarming trick on Dooku while he was still trying to get to his feet. The red lightsaber flew into the air and into his left hand. Anakin turned it on and held both of the sabers in a scissor like position a few inches from his throat.

"Kill him." Palpatine hissed.

Anakin shook his head as his mind and body battled with his heart and soul. Every fiber in his body was itching to kill Dooku but his rational thoughts were telling him not to.

"I shouldn't." Anakin said.

"Do it Anakin. He's too dangerous to be kept alive. Think! You know I'm right." Palpatine was trying to convince him.

Anakin stared down at Dooku, thinking of everything this man has done and what he was capable of doing. If he let him live and be taken back to Coruscant, he could escape and slaughter everyone in the Jedi temple. He could kill everyone Anakin ever cared about. He didn't want a repeat of what happened with Grievous.

Anakin narrowed his eyes, his body going rigid as he glared down at Dooku. Who cares about the Jedi rules. The man was a liability and a very dangerous threat to everyone. He didn't deserve to live with the crimes he had committed.

Dooku stared up at Anakin pathetically and he gripped both lightsabers tightly and in a swift motion, he cut off Dooku's head. His body fell on its side, Dooku's head rolling some feet away. 

Anakin dropped Dooku's lightsaber and clipped his own to his belt, rushing over to Obi Wan, who was just beginning to wake up. Anakin crouched beside him and said,

"Master are you okay?!"

Obi Wan groaned quietly. "There's no reason to yell, Anakin."

Anakin sighed. "I'll take that as a yes." Glancing iver at Dooku's body, he turnd back to Obi Wan. "We should get going."

Anakin climbed to his feet and spun around stalking up the stairs to the nearest elevator to the hangar. He needed to get out of here. He needed to get away from what he had just done and he needed to do so now. Anakin marched ahead of Obi Wan and Palpatine, ready to get the hell off this god forsaken ship.

Anakin found Ace and R2 waiting for them at the hangar doors with a few clones and he smiled. Ace's presence always brought a smile to his face and he wouldn't have it any other way. Anakin walked by, R2 and Ace walking behind him; entering the ship he wondered just how far they'd get before the ship exploded.

"Sir, the charges are planted." Rex told him.

Anakin nodded quietly. "Good. Let's just get out of here."
