Two seasons of Totally Spies binged in the span of two days. Lola was up early the next morning, mainly because she couldn't sleep. In the end, she had decided to not show up. It was cruel, and she was aware. Lola imagined the disappointment, but she didn't want to be faces with an ever bigger disappointment. An apology date...? It sounded like a recipe for disaster.

Hair pulled in a ponytail, frizzy at the top and split at the ends. Her lashes still wavering every now and then. It must've been the hurt in her heart, getting her teary-eyed. Especially when she walked in the lecture hall which lacked a certain face belonging to a boy she remembered to be expelled, though there were two other faces she associated with him, anyways.

Namjoon, straightening his back when he noticed her across the room, tapped Taehyung on the arm. The younger one leaned in. "Damn, she got over the break-up already?" He asked.

"Nah, look at her." Namjoon clicked his tongue. Even from a distance, they could see the bags under her eyes. "She look like she ain't wanna be here."

On the other hand, "Where Gigi, though." Taehyung wondered. She was usually the reason he would show up at these lectures. "She not coming?"

"Homie, why you care 'bout Gigi?" Namjoon raised a brow. He had always been protective over Giselle, like a brother. Though now that him and Emma were broken up, he wasn't so sure what to make of it now. Was Giselle his little sister now, or an ex-friend?

Shrugging, "Can't a motherfucker be curious? Damn." Taehyung snapped. He leaned back in his seat.

"Chill." Namjoon, doing the same, watched Lola take a seat multiple rows down. He knew she wasn't going to sit anywhere near them. Not after what their friend had done to her. It was crazy to think Lola would've been added to their friend group had it not been for Jungkook's stupitidy. He wasn't sure, anyways, whether or not he wanted that. Being friends with Lola seemed exhausting. Or maybe that was just an excuse for Namjoon to keep hating her. He was in a dangerous place. Let down his walls, and he might end up falling for her, so he had to force his hate towards her. He was already betraying Jimin behind his back... Didn't want to do the same to Jungkook.

Despite recent events, though, Namjoon had a constant, soft smile on his face. The news from the label had managed to cheer him up. This was the beginning of something new. Their first ever album. He tapped his fingers on the desk, humming to his own tunes in his head, impatiently waiting for the day of their very first meeting with the label to come.

The lecture had began soon after the Professor brought his hands together to grab the class' attention. Criminology. Not his favorite lecture, but he was in a good mood this morning. Thought he'd give it a whirl.

Contrary to what most might think, Namjoon had actually been enjoying the class... Until the topic became Jungkook. "It's unfair." One of the students had brought up the incident on homecoming, and how a week-long expulsion was not justified.

Of course, Namjoon and Taehyung's eyes had immediately snapped to said student.

So did Lola's.

"It's just like-" the student continued after the Professor gave him permission to share his opinion. "he could've killed Charlie... I don't know, I feel like he should be in jail or something."

"He had a reason, though!" Taehyung, not being able to hold himself back any longer, stood up out of his seat, raising his hand for permission, which was granted. "Like, y'all been yappin' about this shit-"

"Please watch your language." The professor reminded.

Nodding, "My bad-" Taehyung cleared his throat. "Y'all been yappin' 'bout this thing, but don't even know why he did it, like don't piss me off."

The student, who was clearly one of Charlie's friends, turned to the standing boy two rows back, a frown written across his face. "Oh really? What could possibly justify smashing glass against someone's head."

"Rape." Namjoon answered simply.

Lola's opal eyes were wide watching the argument, though they grew even bigger when she heard him. Rape. She wasn't completely out of the loop. Destiny and Giselle told her all about it, yet hearing Namjoon repeat it made gears turn in her head.

Charlie could've raped her...

Gasps erupting here and there, "What?!" the student tittered. His brows snapped together. "Rape?"

Namjoon nodded, rising to his feet. He threw one arm over Taehyung's shoulder, standing like side-kicks in a superhero movie. "Charlie was threatening to rape girls at the party, so my boy Jungkook did what he had to do."

"Like a real man should." Taehyung added.

"Okay!" The professor had to interrupt their conversation before it grew into something bigger. "Let's get back to our subje-"

"And why didn't we hear about this, then?" The student cut off the professor, to get back at the two boys.  He looked around, specifically at all the girls. "Were any of y'all threatened by Charlie, that night?"

Through all of it, Lola had stayed silent. Head buried in her notebook, she wanted the floor to split in half and swallow her. She was thankful Namjoon hadn't given her name, but frustrated the topic was brought to the classes attention in the first place.

Shaking their heads, "No." most of the girls mumbled.

Turning back to Namjoon and Taehyung, who weren't standing so confident now. "So...? It looks to me none of the girls felt threatened."

"He threatened L- ow!" Namjoon had pinched Taehyung's arm just in time. Out the corner of his eye, he could see how much Lola didn't want this conversation to go on. He made Taehyung sit back down.

With a finger pointing at the student, "I don't play about rape..." his jaw clenching, he scorned. "Don't care 'f you believe or nah, but Charlie's a rapist-"

"Woah! Okay!" The professor had to really step in this time. His hands in the air, "Let's not throw out accusations now, that's a very tricky thing to do!" he warned Namjoon. After telling both of them to sit down, "Luckily for you, our topic of today is 'False Allegations'! So, let's all see how this is handled in law, yeah?"

The lecture had been continued, though Lola couldn't focus. She sat in her seat, shivering. It was all sinking in now. She could've been raped, if it wasn't for Jungkook. She could've been raped.

She wasn't the only on who couldn't focus. Agitated, Namjoon sat with his arms crossed in front of his chest. His darkened eyes met with Taehyung's, which were just as filled with fury. A mutual idea had popped into their heads, and they knew exactly what to do.

❤️

"You was talkin' so confidently about Jungkook-" Namjoon whacked the student, the same one from earlier, in the stomach with a long rod of wood he found behind the dumpsters. "what happened?"

Taehyung, who was filming the whole thing while giggles erupted from his huge grin, sneaked in a few kicks himself. Bruising the stomach, legs, and arms of the student. He made sure to get in a few against the head too, but didn't meddle on it for long as it could be too risky. "On god. Where yo' big mouth now?"

He was excited to post the video to the website later. It was a little thing some of the seniors had come up with. A website where all the college fights were uploaded to, and further ranked based on a few criteria, like: entertainment, performance, how many people there were involved, and who it was that was being beat to a pulp. Everyone had their own ranking, too. One through ten. Best fighters to the worst.

"I better not hear you speak on my homie again." Namjoon had given his final warning through a hefty kick into the student's stomach. "And if you gon' defend that rapist, don't do it on my watch."

His voice sounded static through Taehyung's phone speaker, when they went back to their dorm to show Jungkook to evidence. "He was talkin' shit, so we beat his ass."

"Damn." Jungkook laughed, fist in front of his agape mouth. His big brown eyes widened at the footage on Taehyung's phone screen. "Y'all really did that for me?"

"'Course." Namjoon plopped himself down on the couch, stretching his arms and yawning loudly. "You'd do it for us."

Nodding, "On god." Jungkook sat next to him, sighing through a wide grin. "Y'all my homies for real."

Across them sat Jimin and Yoongi, their arms crossed in front of their chests, and legs tangled in one another's. "You guys are so fucking dumb."

"Exactly." Yoongi nodded, unimpressed with the video Taehyung was forcing him to watch now.

Watching Namjoon roll his eyes, "What if you two get expelled too?" Jimin questioned. He too, was tired of his friends' bullshit. Come to think of it, Jimin wasn't even sure how he became friends with them, and by them, he meant Namjoon, Jungkook, and Taehyung. They were the only ones getting in trouble all the time.

"Nah, it's cool." Taehyung giggled, squeezing himself between Namjoon and Jungkook's brawny thighs. "Joonie hyung will just sneak into Miss Park's office and-"

Namjoon smacks his hand over Taehyung's boxy smile just in time. Sweating nervously, so was Jungkook. Their eyes looking back and forth between Jimin and Yoongi's confused expressions.

"Wait, what?" Jimin questioned. "Why would he sneak into mom's office-"

"Yo look!" Jungkook cut the blond boy off, trying his hardest to change the subject. His fingers thrilled as he held up his phone, an awkward snicker on his face. "Y'all on the site!"

While the other three giggled nervously, Jimin and Yoongi met eyes. "What the fuck?" The blond one frowned, which Yoongi mirrored. He turned back to his trouble friends. "Wait, Tae... What did you mean?"

"Nothing!" Taehyung scratched the back of his neck. "It don't mean nothing! I was just like-"

"Yeah, he was just like-" Jungkook tried helping.

"Yeah he was just like-" Namjoon did too. "talm 'bout how maybe I could try to convince yo' mom to not expel us, y'know."

"Yeah!" The other two pointed in sync.

A brow raised in suspicion, "Right..." Jimin hummed.

"Are y'all okay?" Yoongi scoffed. "The fuck's goin' on?!"

Namjoon and Jungkook had glared at Taehyung over a million times in the course of the minute-long interaction. It made them realize how deep they were in the mud. This was a mess Namjoon wasn't sure how he'd fix, but each day, they were getting closer and closer to the climax that would either damage or break their friendship. He took a deep breath and smiled awkwardly. His eyes were on Jungkook's phone, mainly to prevent eye-contact with Jimin. "Damn! We on the website?!"

"On god!" Jungkook, the same expression plastered across his face, held his phone up. "Look! The video ranked three!"

If a video is ranked three, it meant the audience enjoyed the content. Though it was a good beating.

"And look Joon hyung, you went from rank two to one!" Jungkook, increasingly growing interested in the website now, changed his tone to that of sincere surprise. "Damn! You gettin' big on here!"

Smirking, "On god." Namjoon nodded.

Taehyung too, was engulfed in the rankings. "Yo, what rank am I in?" He snatched the phone out of his friend's tattooed hand, sulking immediately at the results. "Still five...?"

He'd been stuck in rank five for months. Even started fights on purpose to jump ranks, but to no avail.

Cracking up, "Maybe you should hit the gym more often?" Yoongi suggested, throwing an arm around Jimin, who had forgotten about their weird behaviour, and was now laughing at his boyfriend's joke.

"At least I'm not gay." Taehyung bit back.

To which Jimin snorted. "Being homophobic won't make you stronger. Chop chop, pretty boy! Do some pushups!"

The lovebirds were cackling together, while Taehyung frowned. He glared at Namjoon and Jungkook who had joined the Taehyung-bully-train. "You gon' let that slide?" Jungkook giggled.

"Whatever..." Taehyung, pouting, rose to his feet. "I'm gonna take a fuckin' nap. Y'all annoying me."

He was sent off with the tuneful laughter of his friends' mockery. "You sure you ain't wanna lift some weights before?" Was the last thing he heard Namjoon laugh, followed by a chain of cackles, before he closed the door to his room.

Their laughter didn't simmer down until a little later, when the sun shined right through the window, nearly blinding them. "Anyways." Jimin sat straight, smacking Yoongi's thigh gently. "Our lecture's about to start."

"Right." Yoongi nodded, following behind the blond. "Oh, Jungkook-" he did remember to say, before leaving. "we still gotta record a couple of your parts on some songs. Drop by the studio tomorrow or the day after so we can finish them."

"Got it." Jungkook waved them off.

In the silence of their dorm, it was him and his Namjoon hyung. "Fuck." He sighed, getting comfortable on the couch. "Namjoon hyung?" He broke the air after a while. Usual Brooklyn sounds outside their window, car engines, honks, early morning traffic ambiance. They were so used to it, weren't even hearing it most of the time.

"Yeah?" Namjoon yawned.

Jungkook searched for the words. "You know how Lola didn't show up, yesterday?"

Namjoon turned to him with eyes written in pity. Something in Jungkook's voice was different. More gentle. "Mhm." He hummed in response.

Jungkook threw his head back and groaned deeply. "That shit hurt."

Right... Namjoon could imagine. He crossed his arms in front of his chest and presses his lips together. There wasn't really a word fit for this type of situation. Condolences? Sorry? Congratulations...? He took a long, deep breath before turning to his younger friend, brother. "That's life."

"Ain't never been my life." Jungkook argued. "I never felt like this... before Lo."

It wasn't a confessional. Both of them knew what it meant, but Namjoon begged to differ. "Ain't Margot make you feel like that?"

Jungkook shook his head. Simple question, with an even simpler answer. No girl had ever made him feel like this before. Not even Margot. Jungkook didn't even know what this was. He didn't know he was capable of such nuanced emotions. Was it even an emotion? Something had been tugging at his heart, that's for sure. "Nah."

"Damn." Namjoon sighed. "You got two options, Jk." His pointer finger raised up lazily, eyes locked on the empty wall across the room. "You either accept it and move on, or do whatchu always do."

Drawing his brows together, "Which is?" Jungkook asked.

"You get what you want." Namjoon told him. "What Jungkook wants..."

"Jungkook gets." The younger one completed.

That was it. It has always been so. Jungkook wasn't going to give up on her just because she told her so. It wasn't what he wanted. What his heart wanted.

Food for thought. Jungkook let it digest in the stomach of his brain. A second date was off-limits. He knew she wouldn't show up this time either. Lola was easy to lo- like, but she wasn't easy. She was arrogant. She did what she did, and it was exactly why Jungkook saw himself in her. He chew on the skin around his lip ring, hands on his chest, gears turning. There had to be another way to talk to her. The shower water running acted as a sort of white noise. It was Namjoon. He had left Jungkook alone on the couch almost an hour ago to shower, and the water had just now stopped running.

Which was also the reason Jungkook stopped talking. His white noise was interrupted by Namjoon's frantic calls into the living area of their dorm. "Jk!"

"Hm?"

"The news!" Namjoon's eyes were that of worry, and they filled Jungkook with the same feeling. "Look at the fucking news!" A towel around his waist, water dripping down his chest, Namjoon turned the TV on, and switched channels. Matt Horowitz on the screen, presenting yet another murder.

Though this time, the name wasn't that of a stranger.

"What the fuck?!" Jungkook hollered.
