Stage Lights.

Hobi was stressed out.

He was trying not to be, but as the groups dance leader he couldn't help but feel extra pressured when the group was to perform live. Which was what they'd be doing tonight at an awards ceremony.

The members had gathered on stage to rehearse their first ever live performance of their new song, Butter. The awards show started in just a few hours and other groups had to use the stage to practice, so they were on a bit of a time crunch.

Hobi was frustrated because he felt like some of the other members weren't taking rehearsal very seriously, and now was not the time to be messing around.

"Get it let it roll!" Jungkook sang and Hobi called for a break. He needed to go over a few of the dance steps with the maknae.

"It's ba-ba-ba-da-da!" Hobi demonstrated with his moves. He was thankful that the youngest was such a quick learner and quick to fix his mistakes. He called Jimin and Taehyung to get back into their dancing positions when he noticed they had strayed from the group while off in their own world.

"Relax, hyung. You're too stressed out," Jimin said, "I'm sure the performance will be great."

"Aish. I know. But this is our first time doing this live, I can't help but be nervous. We haven't performed live in a while," Hobi pouted.

Jin walked over and patted Hobi on the back, "Ahh, Hobi-ahh, don't worry too much. Remember we're just here to have fun, yeah?"

"Yeah man, just take deep breaths," Yoongi shrugged. Hobi realized maybe he was stressing out a little much about the performance. Even if they didn't do everything perfectly he knew ARMY would still love them anyway. He was just such a perfectionist and didn't want anyone to perform with anything less than their best. He took deep breaths and told himself everything would be fine. He walked over to Namjoon and asked for some advice to help calm his nerves and thankfully his leader always had the right words to say.

The members continued to practice with much lighter hearts once Hobi had stopped yelling at them so much. They asked the staff for some things to be switched around on stage and while talking with one staff member, Hobi was inspecting the lights above the stage. He couldn't help but notice one of the beams holding various light fixtures to it seemed to be leaning downwards a bit too far.

Hobi pointed to it and asked, "What's wrong with the lighting?"

"What do you mean?" the staff member asked.

"It's falling?" Hobi said with concern.

"No it's not, it's supposed to be angled like that."

The rest of the members came over when they saw Hobi and the staff member staring up at the ceiling.

"What are you guys looking at?" Jimin asked. Hobi pointed to the lights and mentioned that it seemed like they were falling.

"It's supposed to be like that," the staff replied. The rest of the members asked if he was absolutely sure and the staff member replied that yes, he was sure.

The members took the staff members word for it and got back to practicing, finishing up after Hobi said it seemed as though everyone was in sync with eachother and they'd all do great. While leaving the stage Hobi took one last look at the lighting fixture. It just seems off.

They hung around backstage getting into their award show outfits and getting their hair and makeup done. They discussed some of the awards they were nominated for and talked about how even if they didn't win, they were at least grateful to have even been nominated.

When the award show started they went out and did some interviews before taking their seats. They'd be performing last at the show and were full of energy once they'd already won every category they'd been nominated for. Any stress they all had vanished and they were looking forward to the performance.

They enjoyed watching other idols perform during the show too. Some solo artists as well as other groups performed. Hobi looked back at the light fixture and it seemed secure for everyone else so he finally brushed away the slight anxiety he'd previously had about it. I guess that really is what it's supposed to look like.

"And our next performance is BTS!" The MC said into the microphone. The members got out of their seats and ran backstage to take their positions. The crowd was going absolutely wild for them and their excitement grew .

"Remember, just have fun!" Taehyung said as they gathered up into their pre-show circle. They did their little chant and ran out on stage, ready to perform Butter for the first time for everyone.

They were doing great and having a great time, until about three quarters into the song Jungkook hesitated when he looked up and noticed the stage light was falling.

Wait..No!

Before Jungkook could do anything, the entire lighting fixture fell and landed right on top of Hobi, Jin, and Jimin.

The entire crowd gasped in a panic as all of the members ran to help them. Hobi started screaming in pain as all of the stage lights went out and staff ran on stage to help. Jimin and Jin were able to wiggle their way out from underneath the lighting fixture but they were both in extreme pain and crying. Hobi was a sobbing mess as his leg was trapped.

"Ow! Help! Help! Someone please help!" Hobi screamed through tears. He was terrified and suffering.

"Hyung!" Jungkook screamed. He didn't know what to do. Everything was chaos. Staff members were able to get Hobi unstuck and picked him up, running him off the stage into a back lounge. Everyone gathered there and Jin and Jimin needed ice packs for some bruises on their backs, and after they had cried all of their pain out they seemed to be okay.

Everyone was terrified for Hobi. He lay down on the couch and every tiny movement made him scream in pain again. Staff wrapped ice packs around his leg where he'd been hurt and tried to reassure him he'd be okay. All of the members couldn't stop crying with worry.

Taehyung sat on the couch and put Hobi's head in his lap and wiped his tears for him.

"What the hell happened?!" Jungkook screamed, " You guys said the lights were fine!" He was so incredibly angry that a staff members mistake got his hyungs hurt.

Hobi went to move but screamed again, "Ah!!!" He threw his head back in agony.

"My poor hyungie!" Taehyung pouted. Jin and Jimin were frustrated that Hobi had taken the worst of the impact while they only left with a few bruises. They both wished they could have traded places with him.

"Is it ...is it broken?" Hobi asked as tears poured out of his eyes. Being the lead dancer, he couldn't imagine anything worse than having a broken leg.

A staff member tried to lift up his pant leg to check it but Hobi started screaming so badly that they had to stop.

"That sounds broken," Yoongi cried. He felt so incredibly terrible for all of his members who had taken the brunt of the lights collapsing. Hobi cried more at Yoongi's words and he didn't know what to think or do. He was in so much pain that he wished he would just pass out until it was over with. Namjoon grabbed one of the oxygen cans and started pumping it into Hobi's mouth for him, just to make sure his hyung was alright.

Hobi covered his face with his hands to try and cover his sorrow. "I don't w-want it to be broken."

A staff member mentioned that Hobi needed to be brought to the hospital, and said that Jimin and Jin had to be examined too for any injuries they may have missed.

"Forget about us, just take care of him!" Jimin cried. He was incredibly angry at the negligence that got them hurt. Staff gently picked Hobi up and carried him out to the car, the rest of the members gathered in with him and they were escorted to the hospital.

Everyone was very scared to see what might be going around on the internet, considering the performance was live, millions of people at home saw what happened. Hobi felt extremely embarrassed and Jin reminded him that he had nothing to be embarrassed about because it wasn't his fault.

"I tried to tell them. I knew something was wrong with it!" Hobi pouted.

"That doesn't make it your fault, Hobi-ah. If anyone is to be embarrassed it should be the damn venue!" Yoongi said angrily. He also mentioned how it was that staff members fault for not taking his concerns into consideration.

When they got to he hospital Hobi was immediately taken in for x-rays. The members waited for him in the hospital room full of tears. Jin and Jimin also had to have a checkup and thankfully they were alright, just some muscle damage that would heal up quickly.

Hobi got his x-ray results back and he had fractured part of his shin bone. The dance leader sobbed into the hospital bed pillow as all of his members rubbed his back.

"What if I can never dance again!?" Hobi cried.

"Noo don't think like that hyung, you'll be dancing again in no time!" Jimin said cheerfully. He was worried too but still didn't want his best friend to be. He didn't know what they'd do if Hobi couldn't dance anymore. He's our dance leader.

The doctor informed everyone that the fracture isn't as bad as it looks on the x-ray and that he's seen it many times. "You'll make a full recovery in no time and you'll most definitely be able to dance again."

Everyone sighed with relief. Hobi started wincing in pain again and he was given some sedatives and pain killers. The members started rubbing his back again and to their surprise the sedatives had worked quickly on him because he was passed out in the bed within minutes. The doctor said he'd be able to put the cast on him while he slept. "It will be less painful for him that way."

While the doctor put the cast on Hobi's leg Jin and Jimin held his hands while he slept right through it. Yoongi asked how long he'd be sedated for and he was informed that it'd last for at least the rest of the night. Jungkook had the hardest time watching the cast go on and looking at his hyung, seeing him in that state hurt his heart really badly. Hobi was the most happy, cheerful person he'd ever met. He felt like his hyung was the last person in the entire world who deserved this.

Namjoon went and hugged Jungkook when he saw that the maknae was crying.

"He'll be alright," Namjoon said as he rubbed Jungkook's back.

"I know, but it's still hard," Jungkook pouted. He turned to Jin and Jimin, "I'm glad you two didn't get more hurt."

"Me too," Jin and Jimin said in unison.

Once the cast was on the doctor said they could bring Hobi home. He was being sent home with more pain killers, crutches, and a wheel chair.

Namjoon picked up his sleeping best friend and carried him out to the staff car. The members were driven home where they'd spend the next few days recuperating.

When Hobi woke up in the morning he was desperate for more pain killers because his leg hurt so badly but Yoongi was insanely strict on how much he was allowed to actually take. He didn't want Hobi to turn dependent on them or anything.

They had finally gathered the courage to check what was going around online and thankfully it was nothing bad. Everyone was wishing them the best and angry with the venue. ARMY's were praying for Hobi, Jin, and Jimin to all have speedy recoveries and told them to take this time to relax and spend time together.

They also found out that their company was suing the venue where the award ceremony happened and that the staff member who ignored the light problem was immediately terminated from their job.

"I guess sometimes things tend to just work themselves out, huh?" Taehyung said.

Hobi smiled. His first smile in days and the members were ecstatic. Although he was getting around on his crutches alright his members still insisted to take care of him and do absolutely everything for him.

"You need to just sit down and relax," Jin scolded one day. Hobi chuckled. He truly appreciated everyone and their efforts to help him and make him feel better. At the same time he felt a bit sad that he wouldn't be able to dance for a bit, it was in his very nature to dance so he wasn't really feeling like himself.

Hobi spent the next few weeks attending their dance practices and instructing everyone from the sidelines as his leg continued to heal. Thankfully before he knew it his cast was off. The doctor told him to still take it easy. Hobi finally felt free of this weighted burden that had been on his leg. He got back in the dance studio and was more than thrilled to finally be able to participate.

The members asked what song they needed to practice and Taehyung spoke up.

"We have to practice Butter," Taehyung giggled. Everyone looked at him questioningly.

"And why is that, Taehyung?" Hobi wondered.

Taehyung had to stop himself from laughing.

"Because our last performance of it didn't go so well."

[The End]
