Spill The Tea - Top 13 Anime I Dislike
Since I used love in the last chapter, I would naturally use hate. But, since hate is a strong word and I might attract haters with poor word choice, so I'm just going with dislike. Again, this list means nothing when determining the worst anime out there. It's just my opinionated list.
13. Bleach/Naruto
I know these two anime are like, the classic gateway anime. And...they are, but up to a certain point. Both Bleach and Naruto start out very strong, but it goes downhill. Mainly with all the fillers and it just get tiring to watch. Honestly, I rank these two very low on the list because I never bothered to finish either of the anime and don't plan on to, especially after fining out my OTP in Bleach doesn't become cannon.
12. Danganronpa: The Animation
A visual novel adaption of 32 hours complied into 26 episodes. It was a disaster. Unless you have played the visual novel first, you might think the anime is decent. Compared to the source material, the anime was terrible. All the characters were completely hallowed out to their outer shells when you first meet them and all the character arcs were reduced to basic explanations. Plus they ripped the execution scenes straight from the visual novel. How embarassing is that?! They didn't even bother to try and reanimate the scenes! And the mastermind's master plan was just a five minute basic overview! If you haven't noticed, I put DRAMatical Murder on the list but higher up as well, which is strange because both anime suffer the same problem, but you know what? At least Danganronpa tried. They made a decent 26 episode long anime and two sequel series, so that's the silver lining in this.
11. DRAMatical Murder
DRAMatical Murder is a yaoi/BL NSFW visual novel. Don't ask me how I know, I can thank YouTube when I looked it up. It was a complete disaster, like Danganronpa. But, unfortunately, it got the short end of the stick in this one. A complex, route-based visual novel complied into 12 episodes and one OVA. And that's it. Characters were hallowed out as usual and their routes in the game were given an episode (sometimes less!) to cover and get a basic explanation of what happens in their route. And, the plot of the entire game is boiled down to just what is going on. But, you have to credit them for adapting all the NSFW scenes to literally just one kiss scene. And I watched the dub as well-don't ask why-and it is CRINGEY! All the characters are basically emotionless! How did the English translators hear their voices and decide "Yup, it's perfect for the anime! Let's use them!"
10. Black Butler/Tokyo Ghoul
These two, again, like Bleach and Naruto, start out very strong. And you know what? Black Butler had a dark ending that I liked and gave me a taste of what the actual manga ending will be like. Tokyo Ghoul was just a rushed product of the manga and Root A was a disaster, trust me. It's going to take more than a aesthetic opening trailer to pull me back into the anime, season 3. And introducing a billion of characters in a span of two episodes doesn't help either. But, the manga has been going downhill lately. Like, both authors of the manga are literally scraping the bottom of the barrel right now (*coughcough* Ciel's secret twin *coughcough* Touka's pregnancy even though she treats her body like shit *coughcough* Hide as a GHOUL! *coughcough*). I rank these two low on the list because again, I am considering the manga counterparts and that isn't really fair.
10. Fullmetal Alchemist
Now, this may seem hypocritical because I placed Brotherhood on my last list, but this is the 2003 adaption, in case you didn't know. I found myself bored at the anime, no joke. It had a slow start and a detoured a bit from the anime, giving characters more backstory and I liked it. But, end of season 2 and middle of season 4 is when I got bored. You see, the manga was in early development at time, so the anime didn't have much to adapt, which explained the character development at the beginning, but that meant when they were done with that there still wasn't much to adapt. So, the anime literally s l o w e d d o w n. Like it started at 40 mph and then it went to 15 mph, and at season 4 they decided "hey, I came up with an ending! Let's finish it off in one season, no big deal! It won't seemed rushed at all!" And then made the anime go 160 mph, to a point where I had to go on the wiki to figure out what the heck is going on, and trust me, when an anime reaches that point, you know it's gone bad. And, the sequel movie didn't help either, as it did clear up the cliffhanger in the first anime but ended on another one. But, I do give them credit for letting Hughes live up to episode 25 and giving Nina one more episode before she died.
9. The Familiar of Zero
I hate the main lead, no joke. She is a bratty tsundere with a name so freaking long I won't even try to look it up. She is a mage aspiring to be the best and when she summons up a familiar, she gets a human! And instead of accepting her mistake and dealing with the human, she treats him like a animal! In fact, animals get treated better than him! She whips him, verbally and physically abuses him, makes him sleep in a small pile of hay in a shed, and used him as her servant and personal test dummy for spells! He's also involved in a harem as a subplot which makes her more possessive of him. And not only that, he falls in love with her! Um, hello, Stockholm Syndrome anyone??? I haven't felt this way ever since I've read Killing Stalking! And I made a meme about that! I would post it but it has my ugly face on it so I'll spare you.
8. Your Lie In April
I know like almost everyone loved and cried at the ending and the main pair, and you know what? I couldn't share the same love. I couldn't find myself liking the man leads. Like, Tsubaki-if you cared that much that Kousei quit the piano, then you should've done something about it since you know him best instead of whining about he is growing apart from you. And Watari-you CHEATED on Kaori while she was sick! CHEATED on her!!! And at a time when she was weak!!! Kaori-if you like Kousei that much, befriend him. Don't play games and date his friend to get closer him. It just causes unnecessary heartache. Plus, abusing him physically and verbally isn't going to help him get back onto the piano. As his "biggest fan" you've GOT to know that his mother, his piano teacher, abused him as a child so of course he's gonna have mixed feelings when she dies and have a issue playing piano again. A year isn't simply enough to "get over it". I know you're dying, but you have to be considerate of others and not be selfish just because he's on your bucket list. And Kousei-get yourself a better group of friends. Because of lack of communication and flaws that could be fixed made me feel like CinemaSins when watching this anime and I found several problems with the characters could be easily fixed if they realized what they were doing wrong.
7. Re:Zero
Subaru is a pathetic main lead. I get it he's stuck in a world where he keeps on dying and coming back to life, but sometimes the reasons why he dies is so stupid. Also, Rem is a horrible love interest. She's shows potential that she can defend for herself, but doesn't and dies which causes unnecessary grief for the viewers. Also she's bitchy, which makes it hard for me to forgive her. She is just all looks but no personality, a lazy excuse for the "best waifu ever". She had it coming when she got all twisted up in a pretzel and get rejected by Subaru. Actually, they're both perfect for each other-they're trash! And Ram acts the same as her sister, but at least she tries her hardest to make us forgive her, and Rem doesn't. I don't see why viewers see Rem superior as Ram.
6. High School of the Dead
No. Just no. The cover art looks promising, but in the end it's all boobs, boobs, and m a t r i x b o o b s.
Fan service galore. Just a guilty pleasure anime, but I couldn't find myself enjoying the anime when I was screaming at the physics of the show. I love the zombie slaying and guts, but the boobs honestly distracted me. The main lead is stuck in a harem with girls with over proportional breasts who I can't find myself liking any of them...except Alice the child. Because she is the only character in the anime who isn't sexualized.
5. Sword Art Online
People say it's trash, and I can agree, but with the second season. Kirito is a OP main lead, but the first season was decent and I could sit through it. They set high stakes and met them, but the second season is when things when downhill. Kirito became another harem lead, all the girls he talked to all try to seduce him, and Yui is literally just a character for a cheap cry. Some of the conflicts with the characters in the second season could of been avoided or easily solved (RUN KIRITO OVER IN THE HOSPITAL PARKING LOT GOD DAMMIT!!!) and I hated it. I haven't even watched the movie, and I don't plan to, even if the animation looks gorgeous, but the third season looks promising with a new protagonist.
4. Clannad
Another visual novel adaption. And they did a good job. The first season doesn't defy anything for a high school romance anime, and you might think it's that without knowing it's a visual novel adaption, and I applaud them for that. But the second season is when I stopped liking it. People kept saying Nagisa's death was way sadder that Ushiro's, but I suspected that Nagisa was going to die the minute I saw she was sickly, and I found myself counting down the minutes before I saw her death scene. I actually congratulated myself when she died, as I predicted the twist. Seeing Ushiro and Tomoya spending what little father-daughter time together actually broke my heart, which is why I cried at her death instead. The fantasy element in the second season also ruined it for me, as I understood nothing of it. I know the robot is Tomoya and the girl is Ushiro, but I was still confused. And...the ending. Why is Nagisa alive? Why does Ushiro live? How did Tomoya turn back time and live the life he wanted? Oh...he made a wish and he wished so hard it came true? Okay...but what about the other wishes people made? Did they wish as hard as Tomoya and created a time loop wth the life of their dreams, or is it random? I looked up the wiki and still didn't get a explanation, which is really bad. If what I predicted is correct, then yay me? But if the reason of the ending is left to be ambiguous, then it's a cheap trick that makes all the heartache in the anime for nothing.
3. Vampire Knight
Yuki. That is the only reason why I hate Vampire Knight. The most indecisive lover I've ever scene. She bounces back with her two crushes, getting cold feet then shifting to the other and then going back. She says "oh maybe I can give them both a good ending" and his ends up hurting them in the end with her actions. Actions speak louder than words. It doesn't matter what she's planning; she's hurting them the way she's treating them now. If she doesn't get her head out of the clouds and decide which lover she wants, she will end up hurting them both and losing them possibly forever without ANY chance of forgiveness, and I honestly wouldn't mind seeing that.
2. Diabolic Lovers
Vampires. Just why? Yui, the worst reverse harem lead EVER. All her potential love interests don't love her-they care that she is literally their blood sack! She's helpless, just let them do whatever they want to her, and cry all about it. Similar to Yuki, she aspires to give them all a happy ending and it just doesn't work! Sure, the vampire moms are complete bitches, but I find that to be a sugar coat so we feel sorry for the brothers, but I don't. And, girl, my friend iorek_ walks faster on the track then you sprinting away from these bastards.
1. Boku no Pico (just kidding)
In all seriousness...

Sailor Moon
Yup. Surprised? That's why I rank it so high on the list. It's a classic anime, and everyone I know LOVES it. But, I can't find myself to share the love. The reason why I rank it so high is because I find it most surprising. Now, you might be thinking "wait you like Yugioh but not Sailor Moon WHAAAAAT???" Like, whoa, hey, I don't like all the classics. I never found DBZ to be engaging and I only like Indigo League of Pokémon. I don't know what I find in Sailor Moon that I don't like. Is it because it repeats the same plot over and over again for every season or so? You know, introduce a untouchable bad guy, send out their lackeys, have the scouts fight and separate, have the separated scouts take on the villain and find out that they can't defeat them and return back to the group and beg for forgiveness and they all hug it out and contemplate that the power of friendship and working/being together can overcome anything and they defeat the villain with their newfound light on friendship, and rinse and repeat. And if the season is doing particularly bad, introduce crazy unexplainable plot twists like a chibi version of the mean lead or kill off all the scouts and then bring them back! Or, take loved ones away and hypnotize them! Is it because it slightly reminds me of Winx Club (regret watching that show as a kid)? Is it because I find more unlikable characters then characters I like? Maybe it's because I'm not the kind of person who would enjoy a show like this? I don't know. I watched the anime, and have a irrational dislike for it, and that's that.
