Speculo

Speculo is the continent containing five countries, that mirror the Continents and culture of the Earth. The climate and temperatures are diverse and vary between countries. At the outermost edge are the borders of the five countries; Eswon, Losmol, Prawana, Kapra, and Rascor.

These countries have magic woven into their culture and have reaped benefits as well as destruction from this. All the five countries have modern technology to a degree; restaurants, indoor water, canned foods, cars, and other items like those. They also have modern forms of transportation, though not all people need them. Items like cameras and phones exist to a degree. But weapons and other means of security are not widely used at all. Because of the various species, ability to either use magic or other forms of self-defense that they were born with people who rely on mechanical weapons such as guns are ridiculed. The same thought process is extended to security to a degree, but there is a good mix of businesses that use magic and technology to protect their assets.

The five countries also use first world means of order. Eswon, Losmal, and Prawana all use democracies as the main form of order. But Losmol does use a royal family figurehead that does not actually have any real means of power or control. Prawana because of its history of division has a harder time maintaining its democracy. Kapra and Rascor have a form of democracy mixed with communism, Rascor's president is called a Lnyeka, and Kapra's president is called a Cai. A Lnyeka and a Cai are fashioned more like a supreme ruler.

At the heart of Speculo are wild lands that instead of colonizing diverged into madness. The countries don't know much about the middle of the Speculo that is called Insanis. This area is known to be savage, the cultures are brutal, they rely solely on magic. Some magic that has been outlawed universally in the other five countries. There are several large "tribes" in Insanis. They run like a monarchy, with Kings and Queens. For the most part, Insanis keeps itself separate from the rest of the Speculo. To assure the safety of others, there have been walls to keep a strict border between various countries and Insanis.
