Peridot's POV

The truck started shifting down and I was having a heart attack, "WE NEED TO GET LAPIS" I shrieked and tried to squirm out of Opal's arms.

Garnet and Bismuth held Jasper back, while everyone else kept the zombies away.

The truck began sliding down and I looked at all the zombies that where on the truck weighing it down.

I looked at Amethyst, who wasn't doing anything she just watched with a straight face. I mean she was in an insane asylum, so I expect it from her.

But damnit this is why Lapis didn't trust her.

Amethyst's POV

I was confused...

Why was everyone screaming?

Why isn't Lapis over here yet?

Is she stuck still?

Why can't they help her?

Is she okay?

Why are they not letting them help her?

I looked at the truck and walked over and leaned over the side and I saw Lapis.

She was holding a zombie???

I'm confused even more now.

Those are the bad guys right?

Lapis's POV

A zombie had fallen down here with me and that made my situation worse.

I was trying to shove it off the side but the damn thing wouldn't move.

I felt the truck shift with a loud scrapping sound and my whole life was basically over at this point.

Amethyst's POV

Peridot and Jasper where now screaming more, I shrugged and held my hand out and the closed my eyes.

Lapis's POV

I felt everything shift down and the zombie tangled in cords had finally fallen, I squeezed my eyes closed.

After a few still seconds I opened my eyes and the truck wasn't falling, I took this as a chance to climb on top of the now tilted truck.

I looked up and I saw everyone staring down at me, I then felt myself be lifted up and the truck completely dropped.

I floated up to where everyone else was and then I was dropped on Opal who did indeed catch me.

I touched my face "I'm....alive.....??" I asked looking around, Opal placed me down and Peridot ran up and hugged me.

I blushed a little bit before we where both crushed by Jasper in a hug.

Amethyst's POV

I think I did good.

I did good right?

I felt someone pat my head and I looked up to see Pearl smile down at me, smiling is good.

So I did good, I'm sure.

"If your wondering, you did good Amy" she said and I smiled back, nailed it.

After a little bit we all started walking again.

"Pearl, I told you this conversation is not over" Opal said and Pearl gave and awkward smile.

"How long have you been bitten" Opal asked.

"Did it happen back when I lost my beautiful truck" Jasper added.

"I got bitten sometime back when we found Amethyst" Pearl sighed.

"And you kept it secret" Peridot said while on Lapis's back once more.

"Ya, I expected to turn, but I kinda noticed my bite never hurt when Amy was around" Pearl said glancing down at me and then to her bitten hand that I was holding.

"And according to that broadcast we heard there's a reason for that" Pearl added.

"Wait Bismuth is bitten too" Opal said pushing Bismuth over to us, "pssh what are ya talking about, I just cut myself on a loose pipe back at the old house" she said with a little laugh.

"Wait so you weren't bit" Jasper asked with a barley noticable smile "nope, probably passed out from blood lose or something" Bismuth said looking at her arm.

Jasper sighed in relief and Bismuth laughed, "hey Pearl" I said tugging her hand gently. "Yes Amethyst" she said looking at me "are we gonna go to Florida, with Dr. Sanchez" I asked.

Pearl looked at the others and then to me "well we've got no where else to go" she smiled and I smiled back.

I'm a little excited to see Dr. Sanchez again, I hope he's okay.

We started to walk again and we then made it to a highway getting closer to a town.

Peridot's POV

I rested my head on Lapis's shoulder and noticed a broken down car that had bloody words written on it.

All infected
No hope

I tapped Lapis and pointed at the sign "maybe we shouldn't" I began but she just sighed "Peri, we have to, but we'll be careful, okay".

She smiled over her shoulder at me and I let out a small sigh "yeah....okay".
