Chapter 1

(Jayme's P.O.V.)

The bell had just rung for the last time that day. I hadn't rushed out like everyone else, as I had scored myself a detention for punching Vince during lunch. I punched him because he was bulling that Raf kid again. It's not that I was friends with the kid, it's that Vince still hasn't learned his lesson.

A couple months ago, I had been cornered by Vince. I had been about to walk home, mind that I had made sure that it was only me and a few others on the school property. He pinned me on the wall, and then I realized. He was trying to kiss me. Blegh! The thought of kissing him almost made me puke right on his snobby little face. I wish I had. He started talking

"Hey, I can't let someone as pretty as you get away from your future husband, now can I?" Vince said, with his usual smirk.

I didn't speak.

"Talk. To. Me." Vice said slowly.

Usually if he asks others to talk, they do. But I don't because of my vow. It has been 6 years since I took the vow, and I haven't talked since.

And then, Vince came in for the kiss. Once he got close enough, I head-butted him and then kneed him in the gut and ran. Vince just stayed down. I think I hit him harder than I thought.

*You Just Got Home*

You had just slipped inside when you felt a hand on your shoulder....

You pulled out your notebook and pointed to the words *Hello father.*

"WHERE WERE YOU???"

You then wrote down your answer. *I was at school getting next weeks work... That's all father.* You said this looking down, as that was what you were taught.

"THAT IS NO EXCUSE! GET DOWNSTAIRS NOW!"

You gulped at this. This is because when he said to go downstairs, it was serious. Last time he had called you down there, you had your arm bone broken, a few cuts and lots of major bruises. He knows about your weapons and last time he had taken them for a week.

Your father's rules are:

1. Never look one in the eyes ever.

2. Don't talk to unless talked to.

3. Never be late.
