CHAPTER 5

TWO YEARS, TOO LONG

THE BAND SMILE rapidly grew into bigger success within just a year. The band played nearly every night at different pubs and college gigs. And as Elizabeth noticed how much larger the crowds had gotten, she realized just how much Roger and her began to drift apart. She was definitely hurt, to say the least. But every time she tried visiting the four and see how much their success had grown, they just didn't have the time. Elizabeth desperately wanted to even say one word to Roger, but realized how much more effort she was putting into him than he was to her.

Of course, there were times where he's noticed her here and there, ultimately grateful she even decided to show up. He would even act surprised whenever he found her alone with a pink lady in her hand, watching them with admiring eyes. But he hated the fact that he didn't see her as often as he wanted to. Roger even began to think she lost interest, and told himself to stop chasing after a girl he wasn't worthy of. If Elizabeth knew every thought he had for her, she would obviously think differently. But the two just weren't open up enough to talk about it to each other.

The name Smile was near long gone when the band decided to change their name to Queen. Liz liked it as soon as she heard about it at a college gig from people around her. Queen had even found themselves on the BBC, "Top Of The Pops", singing their well known song, "Killer Queen." Liz could even vividly remember walking over to her dorm neighbor, Sharons room. About one of the only girls to afford a small cable set, she watched it from her doorway.

That year, however, was somewhat a struggle for the lonely girl. Not only did Roger leave with the band, very small moments the two were able to share together, Elle had also gotten a deal with the man at the pub. Elle dropped out of college once the music industry and her college hours were piling together at once. It became too stressful, so she decided to leave with her passion for music. Of course, Liz and Elle kept close contact, and Liz would show up at her music shows once and awhile. And although Poppy couldn't quite catch up with the name Queen, she was slowly starting to make her way up there.

Leaving Liz all by herself in a dorm room that was half empty, she decided to focus hard on not only her studies, but her art as well. If she wanted to be successful in life, she needed to focus as much as her friends were doing as well. Every now and then though Liz cheered on her best friend from backstage, completely proud of where she now stood. She admitted that she missed her dearly, and that she wanted to see her more often. But, she accepted that Elle's career was taking off, and she needed to support her in doing so.

About another year passed in a total blur, and Liz was now a junior in college. Work became harder, and studying was more done than usual. Roger and Liz had completely lost contact, and they separated into their own paths. Liz still kept up with the band, though, noticing the releases of their album. But she never really got the time to watch them perform anymore. She still kept up with Elle, supporting her throughout. However, Liz didn't know that after those two years, Roger still blankly had her in his mind.

Liz couldn't also imagine that being invited to an after party of Elle's would turn into a reunion she wouldn't have even thought about.

heyo!

sorry i've been late on updating. last weekend, i had two HUGE projects for school that literally took up all my time during saturday and sunday. that weekend was stressful, with all the work and feeling pressured to write for you guys.

but because i didn't want to leave you guys hanging, i decided that this little "fluff/background info" would be an alright start. this was very short, but it was just supposed to be a gist of what happened to the relationships with everyone. again, im sorry for such a long wait with such a short chapter. I PROMISE I WILL UPDATE IN A DAY OR TWO because im gonna be on break for four days!!
