For those of you who have been here since the beginning, thank you for coming back. Truly. You have no idea how much it means to me that you're willing to follow these two idiots into another mess.

SOUR is a story about what happens after the dust settles. (Hint: dust didn't settle)

And, unfortunately, about same two stubborn idiots who have somehow decided that being in love does not require them to stop arguing with each other.

If EVIL was about finding the pieces, SOUR is about discovering that some of them cut when you try to put them back together.

The characters in these pages are still flawed. Perhaps more than ever. They will make terrible decisions. They will misunderstand each other. They will hide things they should say and say things they absolutely should not. Some wounds will heal. Others will simply learn how to ache more quietly.

Please be patient with them.

There are answers buried underneath other answers. There are things that may seem insignificant until much later. Some pieces will take their sweet time finding the puzzle they belong to.

So if something doesn't make sense yet, let it sit. Trust me a little.

And if you've read EVIL, you already know that I have a slightly concerning relationship with breadcrumbs. Yeah, just saying. 

I hope SOUR makes you laugh when you don't expect to, hurts a little when you least want it to, and leaves you thinking about the things we carry long after you've finished reading.

Most importantly, thank you for coming back to this world, these characters, and this story.
