Soul was in his apartment,watching tv as usual. Then suddenly,his phone rang. Soul muted the tv then answered the call.

"Maka ?" He stood up,going to the fridge. "S-soul…" Maka's voice mumbled from the other line. Soul took a soda then closed the door,then sat on the couch again.

"What's wrong ? Are you okay ?" Soul asked with a worried tone. "K-kid…" She sniffled. Soul sighed. "Are you crying again ?" He stood up,going to the door. "It's late… He's still not coming home… I-I tried contacting him but he won't answer… I'm worried…" Maka sniffled. "And… Rumors about him with someone else were all around…"

Yep. To tell you the story,Maka's dead worried about Kid,her boyfriend,everytime. Soul always does his best to comfort her and make her laugh. He knows about the rumor,and doesn't want to believe it. "Wait for me. I'll go there." He locked the door then started walking. "T-thanks…" Maka sniffled then ended the call. Soul took the normal route to Maka and Kid's house now. Maka moved in since they became a couple.

He was walking when he passed by a bar. He took a glance then saw a teen guy with three white stripes in his hair,with two other girls right on the both sides of him. "Wait… Three stripes ?" He paused,taking a step back. He looked at the bar,seeing Kid with two girls. One with long straight hair and blue eyes,and the other with short blonde hair and blue cheery eyes. They both wear clothes that show cleavage… Gross…

"Maka should know about this. Her boyfriend is cheating on her ! Tch… I knew it ! I'm better than that punk ass… "

Soul thought. He was cursing himself because he wasn't able to tell what he really feels for her. But this kid is cheating on her ! He was regretting in hiding himself now.

He was deep in thought,he didn't notice that Kid saw him. "Wait here,girls." Kid winked as he stood up. Soul gulped,but kept his calm. "What are you doing here…" Kid grumbled,pulling him up by his collar. Soul grunted,glaring at him.

"You're cheating on Maka ! You don't know how worried she is !" Soul yelled. Kid glared at him,then dropped him. "Don't you dare let her know. If you do,I'll hurt her." He glared before going back inside. Soul looked startled. He can't lie to Maka. But he can't afford Kid hurting her. Tch…

He frowned,then went to their house. Maka was there,sitting on the couch. Soul knocked,then Maka opened. "Kid— Oh… Hey Soul…" Maka's bright smile turned into a frown. Soul sighed. "You can't tell her…" Soul thought.

"My my,what brings you here,Soul Evans ?" Soul got shocked when he heard Kid's voice behind him. Maka's eyes brightened,running past Soul and running to her boyfriend. "I was worried about you !" Maka sighed.

Soul frowned,looking at them. But he replaced it with a calm expression. "So… Soul… Why are you here ?" Kid smiled,but his eyes were staring at him. It sent him a don't-you-ever-dare-tell-her message. Soul shoved his hands in his pockets then clenched his fists.

"Nothing. I just wanted to make sure she's okay." Soul sighed. Maka smiled then patted his head. "It's okay now,Soul. Thank you." Maka spoke. Soul nodded,then started to walk away. "That's good to hear. Well,I'll leave now. It's late." Soul said. "Bye !" Maka waved,then went in with Kid.

[With Maka and Kid]

Kid sighed then threw his keys on the couch. He did it like he was exhausted,but the truth is he was drunk. Maka sighed,looking at him. "Go to sleep… I'm sure you're tired." Maka said then pecked his cheek,then led him to his room. "Thanks,Maka." Kid smiled,sitting on the bed.

"Uhm… Hey." Kid sighed. Maka looked at him with a questioning look. "Don't believe the rumors and Soul. They're just liars." Kid said. Maka smiled. "I trust you." Then walked out of the room. Kid snickered,laying down and starting to drift to sleep. "Dense girl." He mumbled,sleeping.

[Morning]

Kid woke up early to go to work,as Maka did her best to help him. When he left,Maka sighed then read her books.

Soul was playing his bud,Blackstar. They were playing their usual video games. "Hey,Soul." Blackstar said,looking at him. "Yeah ?" Soul answer-asked cooly. "Kid's been acting strange this days… Did you notice ?" Blackstar asked. Soul sighed. "Blackstar,I'll tell you something you can't tell anyone else. Okay ?" Soul said.

Blackstar shrugged then nodded. "Kid's cheating on Maka. I saw him in a bar with two other girls." Soul said. Blackstar looked shocked. "What ?" He said. "You heard me." Soul shrugged.

"But… You love Maka,right ? Then tell her ! So you can take chance !" Blackstar nudged his shoulder. Soul sighed. "I can't. First,Kid warned me that if I do,he'll hurt Maka. Second,I don't want to break her heart." Soul said.

"Oh… That sucks." Blackstar patted his bestfriend's head. "Yeah." Soul agreed. "Well… How do you feel about it then ?" Blackstar blinked. "Seeing her clueless with her boyfriend cheating on her… Tch… It kills me,man." Soul grumbled,frowning. Blackstar sighed.

"The time will come that she'll know. It will…" Blackstar smiled. "Thanks bud." Soul grinned,high-fiving Blackstar. "No prob,bud ! Your god's always here for you !" He chuckled.

[Meanwhile…]

Maka was waiting in the sala room,sighing. She was dressed in a cute yellow dress,and her hair wasn't in their signature pigtails. She was waiting for Kid. He said they'll be having a date. Her phone rang,so she answered,thinking it was Kid.

"Hey,Maka ! Wanna hang out tonight ?" Tsubaki said,giggling. "Uhm… Not now,Tsubaki-san. Kid and I will go out…" Maka sighed. "Oh ? Okay then,sorry for disturbing !" Tsubaki said. "It's fine and… Sorry." Maka apologized. "It's alright. Besides,I'm with Blackstar. So I don't really mind. Bye bye !" Tsubaki giggled,then ended the call.

Maka sighed,holding her phone. Seconds later,it rang again. Maka answered,and it was Kid. "Hey Kid !" Maka smiled. "Hey Maka… Look,I'm very sorry,I'm working late. My boss gave me tons of work…" Kid sighed. "Oh ? Well… Okay then…" Maka nodded. "Don't worry,I'll get back at you some other time. Just not now…" Kid apologized. Maka giggled. "It's fine. Go on. You're busy." She said.

"Bye bye." Kid said then hanged up. Maka blinked. "Bye bye… Love you…" She mumbled.

Kid was in a restaurant. He was wearing casuals,and was with another girl. "I told you,she won't mind." Kid chuckled. The girl smiled then poked his nose. "You little playboy." She giggled.

Soul was peeking behind the corner,glaring at them. "When the time comes… I'll make you pay for this…" Soul thought. He took his phone out then started taking pictures.

[Time skip,One week after]

Soul was laying on his bed,staring at the ceiling. It was already 11:00 in the morning,but he's still in bed. His conscience was attacking him since last week. Maka always wanted his help,and he always give it. Knowing the fact that Kid was cheating on her kills him slowly. He can't take it anymore.

"I have to let her know…" Soul mumbled,getting out of bed. He took a quick bath,then got dressed in his usual clothes. He went outside then went straight to Maka and Kid's house. He knocked on the door,sighing.

"Maka ? Maka,open up…" Soul sighed. Maka opened the door,blinking. "Oh,hey Soul. What's up ?" She smiled. "Change into something casual and follow me. I have to tell you something…" Soul said. Maka looked confused,but she followed anyway.

She dressed in a white dress,then went outside. "Let's go." She smiled. Soul led her to a field. It was peacefully quiet in the place. "Uhm… What are we gonna do here ?" Maka asked.

Soul sighed,sitting under a tree. "Don't you feel… Suspicious about Kid going home late always ?" He asked. Maka sat beside him,shaking her head. "He said he's working late." Maka said.

Soul sighed,taking his phone. "Last friday,what did he say ?" He asked again. "Uhm… He said he'll bring me to a date. But he said he had tons of work so he can't…" Maka sighed. Soul gritted his teeth.

"Here. I saw this last friday." He handed his phone to her. Maka took a look at the pictures. There were a total of 10. Holding hands,kissing,cuddling and other stuff they should be doing.

Maka's eyes started to tear up,little tears showing in the corner of her eyes. Soul sighed. "That time when you were worried about him… He was in a bar with two other girls than that. I saw him,and I was about to tell you. But he warned me not to. Cause he said he'll hurt you. So I shut my mouth up." Soul patted her back. Maka started sobbing,cupping her own face with her hands.

Soul hugged her close,patting her head. Maka cried in his chest,fisting it and clutching it tightly. "I hate him ! W-why ?! A-am I an irresponsible girlfriend ?" She sobbed,sniffing between her sentence.

"You're not. He's just an asshole." Soul said,trying to comfort her. It took her 20 minutes to calm down. And when she finally did,Soul's shirt was wet with her tears. "S-sorry,Soul… I just…" She sighed.

Soul smiled. "It's fine. I understand." He said. Maka sighed,looking down. "Do you know… Since when ?" She asked. Soul shook his head. "No…" He sighed. He was still holding her close,but Maka didn't mind.

"Hey ! Get the hell off of my girl !" They both got shocked. Kid was running to them. He quickly grabbed Maka's hand then pulled her behind his back,glaring at Soul. Soul stood up,glaring back.

"She's not your girl anymore,asshole. You cheated on her !" Soul yelled. "Shut up !" Kid yelled back,throwing a punch. Soul dodged,then gave him a punch in the stomach. "Stop it !" Maka yelled,trying to go between them.

Only a while of throwing and accepting punches,Soul already acquired a bruised jaw,a black eye and a swollen cheek. Kid has a bruised cheek and a bleeding lip. Maka pulled Soul away,hugging his back.

"Stop it,Kid ! I already know everything !" Maka yelled. Kid looked shocked. "Look,I didn't want to do that—" "Shut up,idiot ! You already cheated !" Soul interrupted Kid. Maka's eyes started watering up again as she stayed beside Soul.

"I already saw pictures of you dating another girl,Kid ! It's over ! Were through !" Maka yelled. Kid's eyes widened. Soul sighed,patting Maka's back. "Just leave me alone !" Maka yelled. Kid sighed,then started walking away.

Maka hugged Soul,sighing. Soul sighed also,then hugged back. "It's fine. He's done. He won't hurt you anymore." Soul said.

Maka smiled. "Thank you,Soul…" Soul chuckled.

"Welcome. Anything for the girl I love."
