(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

So, first order of business is to figure out where the professor was taken to. So, while Tails made repairs to the Tornado, we talked to some people in hopes of them knowing anything about where the professor was taken to. "Don't know anything about this professor but now with the world in shambles, business will be halted." A man in a suit and holding a briefcase said. "Sorry, but I have not heard anything about this professor. Though, I was aware of the robots." A woman wearing a leopard-print top said. "Nope." "Sorry." "There were so many, how was I supposed to help?" "Wait, his name is Pickle? I prefer eating those things." And a lot of other people were not much help either.

"Aaaaaaah." I groan as I place my forehead on a wall. "You think someone would have at least pointed to where he went." I groan again. I feel someone pet my head, "Don't worry. I'm sure we'll find out. Hopefully soon." It is Sonic. I inhale deeply through my nose and push myself off the wall, but Sonic still pets my head. "We have asked so many people and NO ONE didn't noticed which direction he went?!?" I shout. Then huff as I cross my arms. I hear Sonic laugh. How dare he. (😤) "Hey, try not to worry so much. Where's that smile?" He says then cups my face with his hands and makes me look at him, but I still scowl. "Aaaw~ Come on, I know it's there~" He coos. Great, now he's treating me like a child.

Well, not for long. I lean towards him and bump our noses together. His eyes widen and I smirk at that. "Uuummm..." We separate and look to see a little girl looking at us. "Hello there." Chip greets her. I turn my body to face her, "Hey, what is it, dear?" I ask her gently. "Well, I hear you were talking about a professor. And when me and my mommy were hiding, I heard that fat man saying something about... Ma.. Ma... Mazuri!" She says. I hold on my laugh when she said fat. (Pfft-🤭) Children have no filter. "Thanks, kid. We'll be sure to get him back safely." Sonic says, I look over to see him give the girl a thumbs up. "And we'll make sure he gets something to eat!" Chip says.

"Come on. Let's meet up with Tails. We have a flight to Mazuri we need to get on." Sonic says then runs off. I run after him with Chip flying after us. Let's go rescue the professor! (Yeah!)

Third Person P.O.V.

Once the group met up with Tails, they immediately head to Mazuri. It was night there so Sonic transformed into the Werehog. Tails also managed to have gain a faint signal and it lead the team to a village. "There is some strange happenings just that way. But be careful, there are mechanical monstrosities lurking in that region." A man informs the group. "Okay, thank you. Come on, Fluffy." (Y/N) says as she runs off. Sonic follows after her with Chip flying after them. Tails would meet up with them as he would take another path.

Upon entering the area, the three saw a robot with a shield and some large glowing pink flowers. That then fire at them glowing pink orbs. (Y/N) quickly takes out her staff and bats at it, sending it at the robot. Which then alerts it to them. "I got the robot, you take out the overgrown weeds." She says. She runs at the robot as Sonic lets out a yell and runs at the flowers. (Y/N) jumps and swings her staff down, but the robot holds up its shield and blocks it. He pushes her back and (Y/N) back flips and lands on her feet. She looks at him with narrowed eyes then stands and spins her staff, charging at him again. Sonic makes quick work of the flowers thanks to sharp claws and once the last one falls, he looks in time to see (Y/N) dig her staff into the side of the robot then pull on it to pop its head off. It shuts down and she flips off it and as it falls onto the ground. "Wow! That was awesome, (Y/N)!" Chip compliments her. "Thanks, but we just got started. Come on, Fluffy." Sonic shakes his head at the nickname he gave her for this form but goes to meet with her. (He likes it when she says it. 😏)

As they made their way further, Sonic had to use his strength in order to move large blocks in order to move forward. All the while having to deal with more robots and dark creatures. However, right as they enter an enclosed area, they get swarmed with Eggman's robots. Sonic used his strength and elastic arms to bash the bots while (Y/N) used her agility to avoid the attacks aimed at her and deal out damage. But then one sneaks up behind her and grabs her, "Hey!" She drops her staff as her arms are pinned to her sides. Sonic hears and looks back, he moves to help her but gets stuck in the face and gets sent into a wall. (Y/N) grits her teeth then lets out a yell as she breaks free from the robot, takes out her blades and slice at the robot. For a moment, nothing happens until the robot's arms fall off then its head slides off its body. (She learned some moves from Espio. She be like a ninja too~ 🥷🏻 🦔)

Sonic recovers and takes out his aggression on the other robots. Once they were all destroyed, (Y/N) sighs and puts away her weapons. "Sonic! (Y/N)!" Tails appears above. Chip flies next to him as Tails lands in front of the duo. "The professor is right beyond that gate." Tails says as he points the gate behind the two. "Well, what are we waiting for?" Sonic says, walking over to the gate then lifts it up. "Come on." (Y/N) runs off. The others follow after her.

Sonic's P.O.V.

We make it in the base and into the room where the professor is. Only his prison hung on the ceiling. "Professor Pickle! Are you all right? We got here as fast as we could!" Tails says then he and Chip fly up to the professor. I thought Tails would just free him, but he and Chip and watching the professor. I rest hands on hips as I get a little impatient. "Sheesh, aren't we in a rush? I thought the professor would be eager to get out of her." I look over at (Y/N) when she said that, her hand on her hip. I just shrug a shoulder in response. But then the prison lowers and the gets off the platform. 'Bout time we get to the rescue bit. "Right then, first things first. It's about time someone taught the chef here how to make a proper sandwich." The professor says then goes to do that, but Tails stops him. "You can file a complaint later, Professor!"

"Let's get out of here before Eggman's welcoming committee shows up." I state. "Oh, yes. Quite. But let us be sure to collect the contents of that vault before departing." The professor says and points to said vault. I nod my head and reel my fist then punch and destroy the vault in one shot. I pull my fist back as Tails goes into the vault then returns with a scroll. "Ahh, thank you. Those documents are our only hope for surviving this crisis. Let's go. There's no time to lose. I'm half-starved after being fed nothing but those terrible sandwiches." The professor says as he starts walking the chip gives him a chocolate bar. "Where does he even keep those?" (Y/N) ask. (I don't think we want to know.) I just look at Tails and we shrug our shoulders then we all follow after Chip and the professor as we get out of here.

Third Person P.O.V.

The group successfully manage to get away and made their way back to Spagonia. It is night there, and the group are in Prof. Pickle's office. The professor stands at table with the scroll open and facing the mobians as they stood opposite of the man. Chip is sitting on the table as he drinks tea. "These ancient documents are known as the Gaia Manuscripts. They tell the legend of a disaster that befell our planet some tens of thousands of years ago." Prof. Pickle explains. "A disaster...?" Tails repeats with a questioning tone. "Quite. And according to the Gaia Manuscripts... this isn't the first time the planet has been broken apart into pieces." Prof. Pickle clarifies, the scrolls showing a drawing the planet in pieces. Tails, (Y/N) and Sonic all gasp in shock at this revelation. (😲)

Prof. Pickle sips some tea before continuing, "The cause lies at the very core of the planet. All the phenomena we've witnessed are the direct result of one creature- the hyper-energy organism spawned at the planet's core, Dark Gaia." He explains. Chip flies up to Sonic for more tea built gets pushed to the side as the hero focuses on the professor's words. (Y/N) looks closely at the images of the planet consumed in black smoke and the familiar creatures surrounding it. "Wait a minute, of course. That would explain the creatures that appear only at night, and why some people acted differently at that time too." She then faces Sonic, "And why you transform into the Werehog. Some of Dark Gaia's power must have found its way into you, and why you become this form at night. Along with having your arms stretch crazy long since those creatures have elastic properties too." She explains, Sonic looking at her and nods his head as he agrees with her.

"But the real question to all of this is how do we stop Dark Gaia and put the world back together?" Tails asks. Prof. Pickle looks back at them, "Luckily, Dark Gaia has yet to be fully reborn. We most likely have Dr. Eggman's pre-mature wake-up call to thank for that." He says. "If we act now, we may be able to restore the planet by returning power to the Chaos Emeralds." He says, Sonic taking out an emerald. "Sonic, you must travel to each of the temples listed in the Gaia Manuscripts. The planet's power will restore the Chaos Emeralds, and in turn the Chaos Emeralds will restore the planet and help it heal naturally." He states.

Sonic and Tails nod their heads in understanding while Chip pours himself some more tea. "Hold on!" Everyone looks at (Y/N), "Look, I'm always eager to save the world, but I have been up for two days straight and have had to deal with robots and creatures spawned from a dark deity. So, how about we rest for a while before we get going. As you said, Professor, we have time thanks to Eggman." She says. (I'm down with rest. 😴) Prof. Pickle nods at her words. "Right. There are some extra rooms you can take residence in. Best to take off in the morning as soon as possible." He says.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

I'm glad the professor agreed because I need some SLEEP! I take off my jacket and place it on the desk along with my weapons then remove my shoes, but I hear a knocking. "Coming!" I throw my shoes aside then go and answer the door. "Oh, Sonic, Chip. What are you guys doing here?" I ask them. Sonic looks away and scratch his head. Huh, I've never him like this before. "He's wondering if we could sleep in your room." Chip says. Sonic grabs him in his hand and I blink in surprise. (Heh. 😏) "Oh. Sure I don't mind, come in." I step aside and open the door more. Sonic lets Chip go and the little guy collapses onto my bed. I close the door once Sonic enters.

"The bed may be a little small, but I'm sure- Uh..." I trial off as Sonic curls up next to the bed on the carpet, closing his eyes as he gets comfy. I smile fondly, he can be such a cutie sometimes. I go and grab a blanket then place it on him. I look down at him and seems a little tense. I brush my fingers along his fur then I lean down a place kiss on his head. (Awwww~ 😚) I lean back and feel him become less tense. "Night, Sonic." I whisper. I walk over to my bed and gently move Chip as I get under the covers. I hold Chip close then look down at Sonic. I close my eyes and drift off.
