(ANNA POV)

Later that evening Jake comes inside and sits a seat over away from Bella and me on the couch. Bella has her head resting in my lap. Bella now has an IV in her hand. Bella starts shivering again.

"Are you cold?" Edward asks her and she nods.

"I got it," Jake says as he moves closer to Bella and puts her legs in his lap. Bella then smiles. "Don't do that."

"What?" Bella asks.

"Smile like I'm your favorite person in the world," Jake answers.

"You're one of them. Feels complete when you're here, Jake," Bella says and I have to hold back a growl. Bella then starts acting like she is going to throw up. I help her sit up as she gasps and Edward puts a bucket in front of her. Jake and I both rub her back and as we do our hands' touch. Bella then stops gagging and gasping before lying back down. That's weird, I think.

"We need to find a way to get some food into her system," Esme says.

"If l could only see the fetus..." Alice starts.

"The baby," Rosalie corrects.

"...maybe l could figure out what it wants," Alice finishes.

"Think you might be right. Jacob just had an idea," Edward says as he reads Jake's mind.

"It wasn't an idea. It was a snide comment," Jake explains.

"What were you thinking?" I ask him not wanting to go into his mind at the moment.

"That it's probably just looking for someone to sink its teeth into," Jake says which causes me to give a slight chuckle and smile which makes Jake do the same.

"He's thirsty," Bella says as she looks at Edward.

"I know the feeling," Emmett says.

"If it's craving, it's not gonna want animal blood," Edward says.

"I have some O negative laid aside for Bella," Carlisle says before walking away.

"Walk with me," Alice says as she pulls Jasper away. Rosalie nods at Emmett and he leaves. Carlisle comes back in and empties a blood bag into a cup.

"Wait, wait, wait. You're gonna make her drink that?" Jake asks.

"It's the fastest way to test the theory," Carlisle answers.

"Only if you're comfortable with it," Edward tells Bella.

"I'll try anything," Bella says.

"Just hold on," Edward says as he gets up and walks over to Carlisle.

"I think I'm gonna be sick," Jake says as he moves away from Bella and me. I'm mentally kicking myself for letting Bella lay on me.

"This might make it a little easier to take," Edward says as he brings a Styrofoam cup with a lid and straw over. I help Bella sit up enough for her to be able to drink, but she is still laying on me. Jake moves further away. I rub Bella's back before she starts drinking it.

"Tastes good," Bella says before she takes another drink. "Mmm." Carlisle comes over and grabs Bella's wrist and starts checking her pulse. She takes another drink.

"Your pulse is already getting stronger," Carlisle says.

"It's working," Esme says as everyone but Jake and I smiles.

"Can I have the bucket now?" I ask and everyone laughs. Bella lets me get up and move away.

The next day Jake walks in and heads upstairs. Carlisle follows after him while I go get the last bag of blood. I set it on the counter in front of Jake when he and Carlisle walk in.

"So, that's the last of it?" Jake asks.

"Bella could deliver as early as tomorrow. If she's going to have any chance at all, she'll need more blood," Carlisle answers.

"And you need to feed. You have to be at your strongest for her. We need to go tonight," Esme adds.

"Carlisle, you're the enemy now. Sam won't hesitate. You will be slaughtered," Jake says.

"Emmett will come with us," Esme says.

"That won't be enough," I say.

"We have no choice, Jacob. If there's anything we can do to save her, we have to try," Carlisle explains.

"You'd risk your lives for her?" Jake asks.

"Of course we would. Bella's a part of our family now," Esme answers.

"Yeah. I can see that. This really is a family. As strong as the one I was born into. I know what I have to do," Jake explains as he shares a look with me.

"I'm coming with you," I tell him and he nods. That night Jake and I cross the river. We are looking into the trees when Seth and Leah come up behind us.

"Jake! They're coming," Seth says.

"I know," Jake says.

"We should phase, Jacob. We can't protect ourselves like this," Leah says.

"They'll see it as a threat," I say before I go and climb a tree. There is then movement in the trees in front of us.

"I wanna talk! Be easier if l could hear you, too," Jake says and then there is the sound of people phasing.

"This isn't your territory anymore," Paul says as he and Jared come out.

"How's the new family working out?" Jared asks.

"You done?" Jake asks.

"You coming home, Jake?" Quil asks as he and Embry come out.

"Not until I finish this," Jake answers.

"What do you mean?" Paul asks.

"I want Sam to take back Leah and Seth," Jake answers.

"What?" Leah asks.

"No way!" Seth says.

"Quiet!" Jake orders them. "I want them safe. And I want this over."

"What about Anna?" Embry asks with a growl.

"I make my own choices," I say as I land right in front of all of them which cause them to growl.

"I need Sam to wait until Bella's been separated from the problem," Jake says.

"You mean till she's dead," Paul says.

"Awe. Ease up, Paul," I say with a smirk before I walk over and stand next to Jake.

"Then what?" Paul asks after sending me a glare.

"Tell Sam that when the moment comes, I'll be the one to destroy it," Jake answers.

"Jake!" Seth says. Paul smirks and Jared grins.

"I'm the only one who can. They trust me," Jake explains.

"What's to stop Anna from stopping you?" Embry asks.

"I'll be stopping the Cullen's while he does it," I answer for Jake. This causes Paul and Jared to smile.

"Anna!" Seth tries.

"After all it is killing my sister," I say to prove my lie. We then hear howls in the distance and I can't help but smirk.
"You played us," Paul says angrily. They all look at us angrily before taking off. I let out a sad sigh and Jake lets out a thankful sigh. I then go inside and over to Bella. Bella, Rose, Alice and I talk about baby names.

"Can't we come up with something just a little more classic?" Rosalie asks.

"Thank you," Edward says when Jake walks in.

"They make it out all right?" Jake asks.

"Yeah," Edward answers.

"Good," Jake says before walking over. Rose and I then help Bella stand up.

"Hey. Are you okay?" Bella says to Jake.

"Yeah, it's not like I'm the one carrying a demon," Jake answers.

"This is pretty important, Bella," I say with a smile.

"Why don't you tell Jacob what you've decided?" Rosalie asks her.

"What now?" Jake asks as he looks at us and back at Edward. Edward smiles.

"Rose is trying to talk Bella out of her baby names," Edward answers.

"She hates them," Bella says.

"Well, then I'm on your side no matter what you picked," Jake says.

"They're not that bad. If it's a boy, EJ. Edward Jacob," Bella explains.

"Okay, fine, that one's not awful," Rosalie says.

"Since I'm so for it being a girl and I love the name. Why don't you tell him the girl's name?" I ask Bella with a big grin. I see a small smile appear on Jake's face.

"I was playing around with our moms' names. Renee and Esme. And I was thinking... Renesmee," Bella explains. Jake's has a "wow" face. I read his mind and can't help but laugh at the same time as Edward. "Too weird?"

"No, that's not too weird," Edward answers. All Jake can say is ummm.

"It's beautiful," I tell Bella.

"And it's unique, which certainly fits the situation," Edward adds. "I like Renesmee."

"They like it," Bella says as Rosalie picks up the cup of blood. Bella lets go of me to grab the cup but it slips from her hand. She goes to bend to grab it but you can hear her spin break. Alice and Rosalie are frozen as are Jake and I. Bella goes to fall to the floor but Edward catches her head. The rest of us then lunge for Bella. Edward picks Bella up and carries her to the hospital bed.
