"I really don't want to go."
Mina ruled her eyes with annoyance as she grunted upsettingly as her father glared at her to place the stress onto her that she needed to follow. Mina's step-mother laughed gently as she covered her mouth to not make it obvious that she enjoyed the tension between the two. She intervened in the conversation as she placed her coffee cup gently onto the table, "It's an art gallery...nothing more and nothing less. We will make sure not to embarrass you two."
Mina was so close to snapping back before her father also added calmly with force, "You will join us. It is beneficial for our family because we are able to talk to investors that might be interested in our country."
Mina scoffed engulf at the two before she smiled though her agitation, "So you're trying to convince me that this is all just business?"
"Indeed. We will not mention anything between you and Bomin."
"If there is any little peep about our engagement, I will break it off."
Mina threatened as she stared at both of them with all seriousness. Her step-mother smiled slyly before replying, "So you decided to go for it with Bomin? He is a fine, passionate young man."
"Anything can happen. Who knows? We might not even end up getting married like how you always planned."
"When did I ever say that my daughter? I just want you to get married and have a lovely family while pursuing what you want. Don't listen to these things with a twisted interpretation."
"Enough is enough for both of you."
Mina's father stood up slowly as he pinched the top of his nose to ease the subtle pain from rising. He shook his head at them both before making his way out of his study. Mina's step-mother rolled her eyes with annoyance at Mina before quickly following after him. Mina's hands clutched angrily at the sight of how smug her step-mother was. She couldn't stand each second of her, but she knew that she needed to win this war by breaking off the marriage.
"So you're saying that we should create a ruckus at the event?"
Bomin asked amusingly as he sat back in his chair as he watched Mina angrily pace back and forth across the room. Bomin turned his head to the side as he found some pleasure in seeing how nervous and stressed Mina looked. Mina glared at him to signal that she was not joking at all. Bomin shrugged his shoulders before he clasped his hands together, "You think we're really going to make this work out? Your step-mother is also as smart as you are. She's going to figure out that this was all elaborated."
Mina bit her lip as her thumb kept resting under her chin which was her habit whenever she was thinking. The sounds of her footsteps walking back and around the office was the only that was repetitively played over and over again. Bomin adjusted his necktie as he felt dizzy just watching Mina pace back and forth. After a few minutes, Mina's face started to brighten up as she replied enthusiastically, "What if I make a huge scene at the event? Maybe one of the workers can get yelled at me, and you come to help them. As it's super obvious, I'm already known as a brat...you're known as the sweet guy. Roleplaying a little bit won't worsen the situation."
"It will definitely ruin the reputation of the hotel a little. What if there are negative rumors spreading about our wedding?"
Mina laughed with her head back as she rested her hand on her stomach to hold herself up. She turned towards the latter and asked in a tone that symbolized her amusement, "Are you serious? So what? Better for the hotel to get rid of a future daughter-in-law like this."
All of a sudden, Bomin stood up briskly before walking towards her. Mina was taken aback a little as she took a step back, but he kept pursuing after her. Ultimately, her back was rested against the wall as Bomin trapped her within his arms. Mina blinked a few times to try and grasp the situation that was taking place as Bomin responded back with a deep voice, "I'm starting to think that this wasn't a bad idea. I won't mind getting married to a bad girl. It'll make my life full of a rollercoaster."
He kept inching closer to her face, and Mina did not appreciate this. She grunted to herself before she pushed the other back and kicked his shin in response. Bomin clutched onto his leg as he winced in pain as Mina responded back with frustration, "Never will I in a million years marry someone and follow my step-mother's plan."
She grabbed her purse lying on the chair and stormed out of the room before Bomin could say anything else to stop her. She started to doubt Bomin as his actions don't seem to match with what he was saying earlier. She definitely did not feel like her life should be controlled as she was a mature, young woman. All this anger started to cloud within her brain as she wasn't thinking of where she was going..she ended up bumping into someone taller and much stronger than she was.
She could feel an instant cold liquid touch her skin as she ended up running straight into a tall male who was just as shocked as she was. Mina looked up slowly to find herself staring at a man who was peering down at her confusingly. They were both at a loss of words until Mina looked down to see that the male's light blue shirt was now tainted with a dark liquid, which the aroma was confirmed to be as coffee. His warm hand was resting against her shoulder as he didn't want her to fall.
Mina took a step back soon after as she started to fix her hair and straighten out her clothes as the young male sighed upsettingly to himself as he looked at the coffee stain. He soon started to speak up with a soft tone, "Miss, did you see what you have done?"
Mina cleared her throat quietly as she responded back with a stutter, "Y-you w-were in the w-way."
"You were walking with your head staring at the ground. I don't think I am at fault here."
The other said with an upset tone as he was starting to get mad at Mina's temper. Mina rolled her eyes annoyingly before she replied back with agitation, "How much do you want?"
"Excuse me?"
"I have a lot of money. So how much do you want for that shirt? $200? $250?"
"Miss... I don't think..."
Mina stopped the other from speaking as she grabbed her wallet from her purse and immediately took out a few hundred dollar bills. She held them up in her hands as she waved them in front of the other, "See this is how much I have. Now take it."
The male's expression darkened even more now, and there was a small crowd watching the two argue in the lobby of Bomin's hotel. There were rumors and whispers that spread across the lobby to who the male could be as everyone knew Mina. The male chuckled out of absurdity which was making Mina quite confused before he responded back coldly, "You don't offer people money. You offer an apology."
"An apology? Just for your petty blue shirt? As if."
Mina placed the bills onto the male's palm as she whispered into his ear as she tugged him close, "Stop trying to act as if you're a model citizen."
Pulling away afterwards, she flipped her hair back as she placed on her luxury brand sunglasses. She smiled a big smile at the crowd that formed, waving at them as if they were her fans and walked off with the smile erased from her lips when she did so. The crowd just watched the male stand there with his anger rising up against his forehead before Hyunsuk crumbled the bills into his fists as he watched Mina walk off brazenly towards the parking lot.
