Weeks passed and things have become tensed lately.

"Hello, Jessica?" Amanda asked me using over phone when I heard  Leni's voice on the other line.

"Yes, baks?" came my cheerful voice.

"On my way ako sa bahay ni Leni. I think something's wrong. Tumawag ka ng pulis." Amanda stuttered as she ran for the gate.

"What!" I shouted in utter shock "I'm on my way too. Kita tayo sa bahay ni Leni." I dropped the call and went to where my keys are at.

I can sense that Leni is in danger and I have sensed it when we met him at the party. I exhaled slowly upang pakalmahin ang sarili.

How could that man hurt our friend? Sino ba siya para gawin yun? And Leni? She's one of the nicest and most down to earth persons she knows. Wala syang karapatang saktan ang kahit sino sa mga kaibigan ko!

In my desire to make it to her house, I got caught up in a traffic jam.

I immediately called help from the police to report an abuse.

After almost an hour, I arrived with the police trailing behind me in front of Leni's gate. Amanda went out of the taxi cab too.

The gate was opened at dire diretso na kaming pumasok sa front door.

The living room was a mess. It was obvious that somebody made a commotion inside dahil ang dating lamp na matayog na nakatayo sa tabi ng sofa ay nabagsak at ang ibang kagamitan katulad ng glass drawer kung saan nakalagay ang mamahaling koleksyon ng crystal plates ni Leni ay nabasag.

Paakyat na sila ng kwarto ng may madinig silang hagulhol. Nagmadaling umakyat kami ni Amanda kasama ang dalawang pulis. May naiwan pang tatlong pulis sa ibaba at naghahanap ng posibleng ebidensya. Nadatnan naming nakasalampak sa sahig si Leni at umiiyak.

Mabilis na niyakap at inalo ni Amanda si Leni. I took the time to look around her spacious bedroom upang hanapin ang nobyo nitong suspetsa nilang may kagagawan ng kasamaan kay Leni.

"Si Stuart yun, tama?" I asked in irritation, her hands on her waist. Leni looked up and nodded, tears flowing from her eyes.

Leni stayed with me for a week since she cannot afford to stay at hers because she was almost traumatized by Stuart's advances and abuses he has done to her.

I offered my place and had already told Romeo beforehand that he needs to vacate and a friend of mine is staying over.

So many things happened and it took her a while to move forward and at the same time, to recover.

She stayed with me for two weeks and when she's finally decided to return to her home, I let her. Thankfully, there were no operations we have received in that span of time.

It was quite a blessing in disguise as I have become close to her and we were comfortable with each other.

We spent weekends watching over some Netflix films, specifically, her fondness over Kdramas and horror movies. And the girl loves popcorns.

Who would have thought we have something in common?

I grinned to myself remembering her playfulness and optimistic attitude.

There is absolutely no doubt we got along so well.
