Chapter 2
"This is getting out of hand Ink! We have to do something about Error!"
Countless versions of Sanses were all sat at a large table in Dreamtale, trying to figure out what to do to end Error's reign of terror, however, it quickly turned into multiple Sanses, Papyruses, Toriels, and Asgores arguing over each other trying to disprove the other's ideas and suggestions.
"Alright everyone, please, calm down. This au is in bad enough shape as it is, no need to make it worse!" Ink attempted to shout over everyone. The arguing continued. Ink groaned and pinched his nose ridge in frustration. Beside him, on his left, was Dream, getting increasingly upset with the amount of negativity in the au. He hated coming to the meetings because of the location and would constantly refuse to attend, but Ink would ignore his distain somehow managed to talk him into it. His skull was throbbing and he felt weaker from such strong negativity and forced back his golden tears, threatening to fall.
To the right of Ink, was Blue, and like Dream, he hated coming to the meetings about Error, where he was constantly bombarded with reminders of that one time Error kidnapped him and accused of having Stockholm syndrome, and maybe he did, but he saw the reality of what Error went through on a day to day basis and saw Error for who he truly was, despite what he was forced to do. Blue glanced over at Dream and saw how upset he was getting and immediately stepped into action. He silently begged Dream for forgiveness before summoning his gaster blaster and shooting it above them and immediately shutting everyone up as they stared at Blue wide eyed. Blue slammed his fists onto the table angrily. "That's enough bickering! Don't you see how upset you're making Dream with your yelling?!" He motioned over to his dear friend who awkwardly looked away from the staring eyes.
Ink then spoke up, ending the multiple mumbled apologies, getting the attention stripped from Dream and drawn back to himself. "Thank you, Blue. Now, back to the matter at hand. We need to come up with a new idea to take care of Error, something we've not tried before." A million hands shot up. "Yes, Red?"
"What the hell do you mean, "something we've not tried before"? We've tried everything!"
Ink simply ignored the question and moved onto the next person he saw. "Do you have something useful for us Blackberry?"
"I say we ambush him. Now, hear me out, but what if we were to attack him all at once with the healers in the background to make sure no one dies."
Ink hummed softly in thought. "Fair point, however-" Ink suddenly gasped as a lightbulb went off in his nonexistent mind. "That's it! I'll create a blank au where we'll all go and ambush Error! The originals are to stay in their own universes and the copies will help to fight, we'll have healers in the background ready to heal anyone in need, like Blackberry said, and we won't hold anything back!" Everyone except for two uncertain skeletons began to cheer, hoping that the plan will work, Blackberry smugly smirking at a very pissed off Red.
Then, numerous different portals appeared in a row to take everyone back to their respective au. "Alright everyone! I'll send you more details about the plan through a mass text so turn on your ringers!" And within minutes, Dreamtale was empty with only three skeletons left behind.
"Ink, you can't possibly be serious, right?" Ink turned and looked over to Blue. "If you just talk to him I'm sure that we-"
"Enough, Blue. You and I well know that I've tried multiple times trying to talking it out with Error. All this time I've kept telling the others that no deaths are to happen, just because you don't want it. I'm sorry, but I've had to prolong the inevitable long enough. If he continues to live, then many more innocent people will die."
Blue froze but growled lowly. "If he dies then-" Blue's hand instantly slapped across his mouth against his own wishes, shutting him up. He frowned and tried pulling his hand away so he could tell Ink about the balance and what would happen if Error were to be killed...but he couldn't. His hand stayed glued to his mouth no matter how hard he pulled. Dream and Ink just stared at Blue rather confused. "Sh-Shit...what the hell is going on??? Maybe I could write it down or-?"
"Don't even think about it. You are in no place to tell my child about the balance, only I do."
Blue growled mentally. "Then fucking tell him, bitch! If you don't then everyone will die!"
Silence.
"Um, Blue, the hell are you doing?" Blue finally pulled his hand away.
"Nothing...you'll regret this decision though." And with that, Blue walked out of the room, waiting for Dream and Ink to finish up so they can head back home.
Ink huffed and picked up his brush, gently combing through Broomy's bristles to prepare it for the portal home. "You know Ink... I know that you care about protecting everyone but I do need to tell you now that I hope you know that I will have no part in this plan of yours. I will not take part in any death, whether you like it or not." The look Dream received instantly gave him chills and stepped back when he saw Ink approach him. "A-And w-with such negative f-feelings happening there I-I wouldn't d-do m-much g-good-" Dream shut up and screwed his eyes shut when Ink placed his hand on his shoulder.
"Oh Dream, I understand completely. You don't want his blood on your hands. However, consider this. If you don't do anything to help, you'll have blood on your hands regardless, because if he lives, millions of innocent people will die by his hands. And by not doing anything, you're allowing more deaths to happen then necessary. Do you see where you're stuck?"
Dream shook violently, terror etched across his face and tears threatening to fall. He used to look up to Ink, in more ways than one, but now he was terrified of being close to him. He didn't want to kill anyone. But Ink was right, he was truly stuck. If he helped then someone died, but if he didn't somebody died. He shakily looked up at Ink and felt his soul drop when he saw Ink's fake smile and piercing red eyes. He couldn't breathe. He felt like a caged animal in a zoo. He feared that if Ink stared any longer, he would suck his soul out of his chest.
"Dream, Ink?! Are you coming or not?" Blue stuck his head into the room, getting impatient with waiting.
Ink let go of Dream and smiled to Blue. "Yeah, yeah we're coming, right Dream?"
Dream flinched and looked away. "R-Right..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A young horned skeleton with blue and purple central heterochromic eyes, wearing a dark purple hoodie, black slacks, purple boots with gold buckles and decoration, and a scarf very similar to Ink's in design but purple, sat on a soft couch bottle feeding a small baby bones in his arms. The young boy smiled slightly, being able to spend some quiet time with his baby brother. He gently traced the three black stars on his brother's right cheek and jumped slightly when the baby bones woke up and stared up at him, his right eye blue, and his left a golden star with a blue pupil. He jumped yet again when he heard a portal open open a few feet away and instantly pulled up his hood, hiding his small horns.
Dream came through and instantly rushed over to the boys, scooped them up and began smothering their skulls with kisses. "Oh my stars! I was so worried about you two, did anything happen while I was away? Any papercuts? Are you tired? Stub your toe? Did you wash your hands before handling him Mendum?!"
The boy, now known as Mendum, laughed and weakly protested Dream's affection. "Yes, dad, I did. And I'm fine, nothing I can't handle!" He smiled brightly, making all stress and anxiety Dream was having disappear.
Then Blue barreled through the portal and manage to pick the three smaller skeletons up into his arms and just held them close. Until Ink stepped through and cleared his throat, ruining the moment. Instantly, Dream's anxiety shot back up and Blue gave Ink a look. "Am I interrupting something important? No? Good." Blue hesitantly set the three down and Dream set down his sons, not without kissing both their foreheads lovingly and hurried off to the kitchen to make dinner before Blue could burn the house down...again. Blue immediately followed Dream, trying to convince him to let him cook instead.
Ink looked down at Mendum and pulled off his hood, frowning at his horn's growth. "Here I thought, you could turn out to be a decent person at best. Now look at you, the more they grow, the more like Nightmare you're becoming." He then flicked Mendum's forehead, earning a slight whine and took the infant away from him. "Such evil should NOT be touching such innocence." With that said, Ink walked away, leaving Mendum to wrap himself up in a rainbow cocoon with his summoned tentacles.
