*1 year later*

Jessica had improved immensely as time went on with a few bumps in the road of course. But with the help of her family and Danny, Jessica got through all the hurdles. Jessica was now free of taking any type of medication.

She had overcome so much and she finally let go of the bad feelings she was holding onto. She forgave her father and also Ben. Jessica knew that that was the only way to really move forward with her life and have a future with Danny. Although, she hadn't seen her father in five years.

Danny was officially moved in with Jessica at her apartment and they had planned to buy a house together in the future. For now, they both concentrated on finishing school.

Jessica returned to school and was determined as before to become a therapist and help those who need it.

Jennavive was also attending school and had started kindergarten. She loved it; she loved learning new things and making new friends.

Things seemed to finally be looking up for Jessica and she felt she had become so much stronger than ever; she was a survivor.

It was a calm Sunday evening; it was October and Jessica and Danny were at Jane's house having dinner. Catharine was also there having dinner with everyone.

Jennavive and Andrew were at one end of the table eating and talking excitedly about their teachers and classes. Andrew was in first grade but they went to the same school.

After everyone finished their meal, dessert was brought out, but before it was served, Danny stood up and got everyone's attention; even Jennavive and Andrew stopped talking and now looked at Danny. Jessica wondered what was going on.

"I would like to say a few words." He began nervously. He took Jessica's hand in his and gently made her stand up with him. He looked into her eyes and said. "Jessica...since we were kids, I knew there was something special about you. I would always get this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach whenever I was around you. At the time, I had no idea what it was...but as we grew, it became more and more clear to me what that feeling was. When we were younger, I made a promise to you. I promised I would come back to you. Even as young as we were, I knew there was no one else on this earth besides you. All those years I hoped and prayed that you would love me the way I love you."

Jessica had tears rolling down her cheeks as she listened to Danny's words. In that moment, the rest of the world faded away and it was just Danny and Jessica.

"Jessica, I never ever thought I could love you more...but seeing you as a mom...the way you are with Jennavive and the love you have for her. It makes you much more special. I see so much of you in her and it's incredible. I love her very much and I'm so happy to be a part of her life." Danny said as he too had tears in his eyes but he didn't let them fall. "Jessica Lange, all I've wanted in life is to be with you and make you happy. I promise to give you everything you deserve and so much more."

Danny pulled out a velvet box from his pocket then got down on one knee. He looked up at Jessica with a smile on his face and said as he opened the velvet box to reveal a diamond ring. "Jessica Phyllis Lange...will you do me and the little boy that fell in love with his best friend many many years ago...the honor of becoming my wife? Jessica, will you marry me?"

Jessica was speechless and was sobbing by now. She looked into Danny's eyes and saw nothing but love in them. Jessica took a deep breath and nodded then said with a smile. "Yes! Yes I'll marry you Daniel Sallis Huston!"

Everyone around them had happy tears in their eyes throughout the interaction. They all smiled wide as Danny put the ring onto Jessica's finger.

Danny stood up then kissed Jessica's lips. Everyone clapped and stood up. They all congratulated them and Jennavive wrapped her arms around Jessica then Danny.

"Danny...does this mean you are my daddy now? I never had one before." Jennavive said sweetly as she looked up at him.

Jessica had lump in her throat as she listened. So far, Jennavive had never asked why she didn't have a father or did she have a need for one. Jessica just looked on and waited for Danny's response.

Danny picked up Jennavive in his arms and said. "Well...if you are okay with it, I would be honored to be your daddy."
Jennavive looked at Danny and smiled wide. "Yes! I want you to be my daddy, Danny!"
"You got it kiddo!" Danny chuckled.
"Yay! Mommy! I have a daddy now! I have a daddy!" Jennavive exclaimed excitedly.
Jennavive hugged Danny tightly then Jessica.

Jessica was yet again amazed by Danny. She knew he would be an amazing father to Jennavive and couldn't wait to finally marry him. She just knew he would make a wonderful husband. Jessica was very optimistic for their future together.
