Chapter6
"It took you ten minutes to catch that little thing!" Wren shouted as she plucked another feather off of Lenis's head. The look on her face was angry more than unhappy, oh no, Lenis thought. Not the whip. Wren pulled out a long, red-stained, and skinny object. She held it up high and Lenis knew what was coming, she held her face down as she felt a smack of pain piercing through her skin on her back. The others looked away trying not to shed a tear.
Julia sheathed and unsheathed her claws, and she too held her head down. Her furry, brown tail pooffed up and she tried to hide her face as she heard the feirce yowl from Lenis. Wren walked away in disbelief as she said, "Next time, why don't you act like a raptor, or you'll end up like bear.
No! Not bear! I don't want to end up like her, especially in the story that mama tells it. Lenis cried on the inside as she fell to the ground; she felt sadness flood through her veins. Why can't I just be normal like mama wants me to be? Lenis wondered to herself as she tried to gather up her strength to pull her body off the ground when mama had left.
It is always 5:00 in the morning when mama wakes everyone up, she usually leaves to go to work for the rest of the day. The unknown siblings are watched by a mean and strict babysitter; not as bad as mama though.
"Lenis! Are you ok?" Julia asked worrying that her best friend and unknown sister would be gone. She jumped out of her seat and rushed to Lenis's side. All of the others huddled around closely, but Lenis took a while to get up.
"I'm don't like saying this about mama, but she is a mean and bad person. I think that it has come to the time that.. we run," Alek suggested as he helped Lenis get stable again. All of the others nodded in agreement and got even closer together.
"We still have five minutes until the sitter comes, so we have to get out fast. If we do try to escape, the cameras would see it and than mama would find us," Noah added silently.
Jason pushed through looking at Alek straight in the eyes, "I think I can knock 'em out in a swipe," He whispered as he pinched his pointy claws. His dark eyes looked at Lenis this time, "We can do this Lenny," He explained as he took her hands on his.
Lenis pushed him away with a grin on her face. "I thought I told you not to call me that nick-name," she replied blushing a little. Then, they heard a sound coming from the backyard, it wasn't the sitter; she won't come until three minutes. A smash came from the slide door and they all rushed to see what had happened.
A super pale girl with red eyes and claws bursted through the door. Her hair was as white as silk, and her skin was pale as the snow in antarctica. Amora glanced over to Alek as they went back to staring.
