Lily

I walk to the door and open it. 

"Hi Drew," I say, suddenly shy.

"You look absolutely gorgeous!" 

He picks me up and spins me around on the front porch and a squeal of joy slips from my mouth. 

Nova and Tess squeal too and let out little "Awwws."

I blush. "So are you ready to go?" I ask him.

"Yes, come on."

"Have fun!" Nova says.

"If you hurt her, we kill you." Tessa says.

"Got it," Drew replies and closes the door.

He opens the passenger side of his car and I get in.

"So... Where are we going?"

"Somewhere," Drew says, looking at me. "You truly are beautiful."

He then turns the volume on the radio up and I sing as loud as I want to whatever song that comes on the radio.

A few songs later, we arrive at a field. He gets out of the car and opens my door to let me out. He then opens the back seat and gets out a real, wicker picnic basket and a blanket, like in the movies. We walk a little ways out into the field, and he sets the basket down and lays out the blanket like a pro. He sets down the basket and starts getting stuff out of it.

"You really love me," I say as he pulls out some strawberries and I hug onto his muscular body, excited to get eating.

"They are so yummy!" I exclaim as I eat yet another strawberry.

"Just for you! So... what are your little sisters' names?" Drew asks me.

"Tessa is thirteen and Nova is ten. My mom had all of us three years apart," I say, "What about you, do you have any siblings?"

"I have a nine year old sister named River." 

"Cute!" I say.

"Cute? She's evil!" He says, "She pranks me night and day. One time I woke up and found my underwear on the ceiling fan!"

I can't help but to giggle.

"Why were you crying earlier today?"

My face suddenly turns grave. "When did you see me crying?"

"I was getting some coffee and... you were hugging your friend crying."

I lay down with my back on the ground, not sure if I could successfully sit up anymore. Drew looks concerned. I close my eyes.

"What's wrong?" he asks, his voice softer, "You can tell me."

I suddenly sit up. "Oh, Drew! Caroline's moving to Oklahoma because her grandmother's ill and she and her mom have to take care of her grandma!" I say and sob on his shoulder. He just holds me and gently rocks me and I feel a cool spring breeze.

"She'll come back."

"I know, but I don't have many other friends and she was always there for me and cared for me."

"Lily, look at me." Drew tilts my chin up to him and I look at him. "Lily. Just know that you have me I'm here for you. Always."
