Visions

I shut my eyes that night despite the constant black I was used to. Zach was upset, more then he let others know. There's so much people miss when they are blinded by their sight. Into the darkness of the night nobody could hear the quiet splashes of tears hitting the stone floor. Or the soft hum of the strange crystals that glowed whenever someone approached them. They couldn't smell the fading scent of mangoes, tinged with so much dirt and and sweat it was hard to pick out amount the smell of the cave. They hadn't traced that scent back to the mouth and discovered the small necklace made out of bird-made bandages and a glowing crystal that was clutched in my paw. Nobody could, but me and my super-senses. And I had Scrylla to thank for that.

But I opened my eyes again, and it took me a few seconds to take in the light. The colors jumped out at me and I pushed myself up, half expecting to receive yet another prophecy.

Instead I was met with a brilliantly snowy field. There was no wind, just snow.

For a few minutes all was silent. Then the snow exploded in front of me bringing the entire bird population of Glamora into the air and a very startled Zach sliding across the snow.

    "Oh hi Jay." He greeted.

"Ah, wonderful." I sighed, looking around for some sort of mystical being.

"Hello boys." A voice said from behind me and I turned to see a familiar tiger, her eyes glowing a familiar misty blue. There were two figures behind her.

"Suka!" I greeted, wondering, what we did wrong.

"Calm down, I bring you good news and an easy quest." She smiled.

    "Finally." Zach panted.

"Please Suke, if we could just talk to him!" Called one of the figures. My heart jumped into my throat, I recognized that voice.

I spied the silver two tabbies. One was light silver with blue eyes you could get lost in. And a taller, more muscled darker claw with deep, trusting amber eyes.

    My parents.

"Why do they want to talk to me?" I chocked out, glancing up at Suka.

"Because this quest must be finished as soon as possible with no distractions. I can't waste anymore time."

"What is it?" Zach asked.

"The fourth and last descendant of the Great Beasts, my own chosen representative. His name is Jelu."

Zach sucked in a huge breath. "I know who that is. I just don't know where he is."

"He was adopted right after you left. He's been living with an old women four the past two years. She's moving in with her sister tomorrow and can't bring Jelu with her."

"I remember that lady!" He gasped again.

"You're right nearby, it's only a few minutes flight. He won't last very long on his own, but you must know something first."

"What is it? Can I talk to my parents?" I snapped.

Suka eyed me warily. "Whatever happens, don't take your anger out on Jelu, it's not his fault."

"Please just let us talk to him first." My mother spoke up again.

"SILENCE." She roared, it was a tremendous sound, echoing across the land and ruffling my fur.

Then I pouted silently as the world lost it's color and faded into black again.

Back to blindness and trying to perceive subliminal messages from dead claws.
