Chapter 5: Days Gone Past
It's been 7 years.
I looked at the mirror. The me from 7 years ago would have been shocked. I giggled. I've changed over the years I thought. My blonde, shoulder length hair was silver now and went down to my waist. My right eye was now purple, with my bangs completely covering my left eye. I pulled back my hair. My left eye was closed, surrounded by golden runes. I touched it, remembering the accident that took it away.
"Feel the energy around you." Celeste instructed. "Pull in the energy."
"I'm trying!" I yelled. I felt an enormous amount of power pouring in into me.
"Ahhh!" I cried out. My eye was suddenly in agony. I felt myself blacking out from the pain. I heard Celeste's voice.
"Lucyyy!"
I woke up some time later. Pain. Unbearable pain. I could focus on nothing else. I tried opening my eyes, but when I tried, waves of pain washed over me.
"Calm child." Celeste's voice. "You need to rest." I felt myself slipping back into the darkness.
I came to some time later, minus the pain. I opened my eyes, but my vision was blurry.
"What happened?" I asked. I was surprised at how weak I sounded. "Why is my vision so blurry?"
"Try closing your left eye." I saw a shape similar to Celeste moving towards me. I followed the shape's instructions. as soon as I shut my eye, my vision went back to normal.
"What happened to my eye?" I asked.
"It was damaged by magic energy." Replied the shape, now identifiable as Celeste. "When You tried drawing in energy, something went wrong. Sadly it caused your eye to absorb magic energy, destroying the nerves. I will place runes on it to seal it. It has a great deal of power imbued in it now, and it must be controlled."
I smiled sadly. that was 5 years ago, and I had grown to live with it. The rest of me had changed too. My face had become more defined. My body was slimmer, and more toned. The fairy tail mark on my hand had faded, becoming nearly impossible to see. I also dressed differently. My main attire consisted of a light purple blouse underneath a white, waist long jacket trimmed with gold. I also wore a long, baggy pair of black cargo pants. My keys still hung at my side. I guess it's finally time. I took one last look in the mirror before leaving the room, possibly for the last time.
"Are you ready?" Celeste was waiting for me near a black portal. She was smiling.
"Yep." I replied curtly. I smiled back. "I'm ready."
"Well then," she replied. "I have taught you everything I can. Hopefully it will be enough."
"Don't worry," I said, walking into the portal. "I'll be fine."
I'm coming back Fairy tail. I will save you all.
I looked around. I was in a forest, at night. to my left were lights signifying a city. I suppose i'll start there. I thought, as i started walking towards the lights. Before long, I was standing in front of the city gates. Magnolia they read. Fairy tail! I thought hurrying into town. I wonder how they're doing? I thought, barely noticing how much the city had changed. What will they do when they see me? I cringed. Maybe they'll be mad at me! I stopped in my tracks. What should I do? I thought for a few minutes. I decided to use the name given to me by Celeste, Tsuki Drakon, until I knew how the guild members would react to me and my magic. I stood in front of the guild doors.
"Okay..." I sighed, pushing open the doors. Everyone immediately turned to stare at me. They all looked different, but I could recognize all of them. I walked up to the bar, where Mira and someone who looked surprisingly like her were smiling at me.
"Hi!" I said smiling. "I was wondering if I could join your guild!" I was extremely nervous. Would Mira recognize me? I thought.
"Sure you can join!" Mira replied. I sighed internally. "Just go see the master upstairs! My name is Mira, and this is Lisanna." She beckoned to the girl to her left. Mira's dead sister? I thought. I mentally shook my head. Priorities.
"Ok!, My name is Tsuki."
"Well Tsuki, good luck!" With that, I walked upstairs. I remembered this place. the master's office was on the left. I slowly opened the door.
"Hello?" A voice came from inside.
"I-I-I was wondering if I could join the guild?" I asked nervously.
"Sure child." Master looked the same as ever, and was beaming. "What's your name?"
"T-T-Tsuki Drakon.." I stammered. He looked at me rather harshly.
"Is it?" He inquired. I sighed. I should've know it wouldn't work on him. I closed the door behind me.
"No. In truth, my name...is Lucy Heartfillia."
"I see." This was from master makarov. I had just finished explaining the events of the past seven years, as well as why I had changed my name.
"Well, I can't fault you for being worried about the others, although I am not." He continued, sighing. "Very well. I will keep your identity and magic a secret."
"Thanks so much!" I yelled.
"Now go get your mark." He said, smiling. I ran straight to Mira. Lisanna had apparently left
"The master told me I can get my mark now!" I told her.
"Great!" She replied. "Welcome to the guild!" She beamed. I starting beaming as well.
"Where do you want your mark, and what color?" She asked.
"Ummm.." I looked up in thought. "Here, and gold, if that's alright." I pointed to the middle of my forearm.
"Sure!" Minutes later I had a golden mark on my right arm. I'm a part of fairy tail again.
