Introduction
A/N: So, Minnesota is a Countryhuman OC made by the glorious @notkwite who I know IRL. Sammie is my own Countryhumans OC, so she's my own property. I got permission from notkwite to write this, and if you're wondering, I got the title from a text conversation they and I were having. Also super big thanks to them for making the beautiful chapter art, I truly do thank you!
Another thing, all backstory stuff that's in this chapter has been discussed between Notkwite and I, we both agreed most of everything that happened is canon to our OC's backstories. Most of it isn't going to line up, this is just an official ship book between the two OC's. If you have questions or something isn't clear, let me know in the comments or PM me and I'll explain.
Minnesota walked through the halls of Lakeview High school, reading his book. He had recently started dating a girl he would have previously never thought was girlfriend material. Her name was Sammie Azerith, a sophomore. She wore a black hoodie, sometimes a sweatshirt, with grey leggings and cowboy boots. She was different then everyone else. Everyone else had more then one color, but not Sammie. Sammie was just dark grey. For some reason she chose him. He was nothing more then a mistake, or, at least, that's all his father saw. He frowned at the thought of his father, America. Just thinking his name made Minnesota feel disgust.
He remembered meeting Sammie. It was his first day and he hadn't heard the rumors about the rebellious outcast. Looking back, maybe that was a good thing.
He had made his way to the back of the school, where he thought it would be the most peaceful. Instead he was greeted with a girl in aviator sunglasses, a Vodka in one hand and a cigarette in the other. She reminded him of his father, always drinking. She smirked at him, taking a quick sip of the Vodka before tossing it into the trash can. She sauntered up to him, one hand in her pocket, "Name's Sammie. You new?"
Minnesota snapped himself from his thoughts, looking up from his book. His girlfriend was by the lockers, waiting for him. "Hey pip squeak. Took you long enough." She spoke in a light and friendly tone, masking the emotions he knows she truly feels. He smiles, putting his book in her locker, which she left open for him. "Hey Sweetie. Sorry you had to wait for me, I got caught up in memories."
She wrapped her arms around him, resting her head on top of his, "Good ones I hope?..." He nodded lightly, smiling and pulling the taller closer, "Yeah, the good ones, like the one when we met." Sammie giggled lightly, "Ah yes, the day I basically threatened you to hang out with me then proceeded to bawl on your shoulder for most of the day. Such happy times."
Minnesota and Sammie walked up to the rooftop, Minnesota protesting but ultimately gave in, mostly because of Sammie's whining at him. The two hid behind a ventilation pipe, Minne quickly being pulled into Sammie's lap. The two cuddled, both just enjoying the others company. Minne interrupted the peaceful silence, "Hun, promise me that if I tell you this you won't do anything rash." Sammie paused, her grip on the younger's sweater loosening slightly, "It depends on what you tell me Sweets, but go ahead."
Minne started to frown slightly, "I know you're friends with America, who, as far as I know, never told anyone he had a kid. He had me. When I was younger he and Russia played with me, made me feel joy and gratefulness, but, that all changed one day. America became cold and distanced himself from me, which made Russia start to drink, heavily. I guess the day I noticed was when I brought a stray home. She was a small Golden Retriever, a puppy. I had went upstairs and opened their shared room, and found them on top of each other half naked. My young self didn't understand it but they were about to do the deed. I had held up the small puppy up and showed it to them, saying, 'Look! I found her, and I named her Zoey!'
Russia looked at me, smiling as if he were proud while America looked on in disgust, as if I were some mere bug who didn't deserve to see him. America just screamed at me while Russia tried calming him down."
Sammie kept a straight face. "Well... I'm glad you told me. Come on, let's get you to Canada's house. I have some business I have to attend to."
