Chapter 3
Lucas stared at the wall above him blankly as he recalled what happened at the gathering. He literally just ruined his chance of talking to the gorgeous lady who helped him and the Guardian of the Night. He still could not believe himself for being so dumb that he could not figure out that they were the same person.
He reached out for a remote and pressed the 'on' switch which folded his curtains. Through the window, millions of stars filling the night sky were revealed. However, it seemed empty without the Moon. The sky looked darker than usual but still beautiful. The night sky always looked the different each time. It was like a show for Lucas who watched it every night.
Even though he was down because he missed the opportunity, he felt better after watching the sky. He felt calm and peaceful anytime he looked at the night sky. It drew him in as if there was a story to tell.
He noticed something rose up from the corner of the sky. Slowly, the round ball rolled upwards in the sky. It stopped when it reached the middle of the sky and positioned itself to ensure that the beautiful night sky was a complete art.
The night sky was complete with the Moon glowing up in the sky. The way it made its way up in the sky amazed Lucas as usual. It was definitely another splendid night sky to admire.

He opened his eyes and realized that he had fallen asleep. He didn't remember when he slept but he noticed the stars had cleared up and there were only clouds in the sky. This meant that it was time for his duty.
He washed himself up quickly and put on his uniform. Just as he was about to put on his tie, he remembered the gorgeous lady from the previous night. He smiled without realizing as he knotted his tie properly.

Lucas teleported to his office and everyone was already at their places, performing their role. As usual, he enhanced the brightness and increased the temperature of the sky. Lucas had nothing but only work to focus or so he thought.
He was sitting in his chair and spinning side to side, drinking his coffee. His mind was completely on Leila and just couldn't stop thinking about her. While he was lost in his own thoughts, a shadow appeared behind him and touched his shoulder, making him spill his drink.
He groaned after realizing it was just Aaron.
"Aaron, please make some sound next time," he growled at him while he wiped the spilled coffee and the stain on his shirt. Aaron folded his arms and rolled his eyes.
"It's Sir Aaron for you. Also, when will I get my report?" Aaron asked him sternly. Lucas stopped whatever he was doing and smiled sheepishly while rubbing his neck, indicating that he had totally forgotten about it.
"I remember asking you to complete it by today so that you could go to the gathering. That was our deal."
Lucas looked up at Aaron and sighed, "Not like I got to talk to her. I was so dumb."
Even though he knew Aaron wouldn't care, he still said it. Aaron was not the type to be concerned about others' problems. He only cared if there was any benefit attached to it.
However, Aaron recalled something and glanced at him.
"So will I get the report tonight if I create you another opportunity?"
He actually offered him another deal. Lucas gasped as he could not believe what he just said. His eyes became bigger and his lips broke into a wide smile.
"You can really do that?"
"Yes or No? Answer my question."
Without any hesitation, Lucas obviously answered yes. "I mean how could I say no?"
Aaron smirked and handed him an envelope.
"Well then I expect it to be completed by tonight." He slowly disappeared into the thin air after he finished checking up on him.
Lucas opened the envelope to see a broken watch and a blank piece of paper. He sighed and placed those back in the envelope, feeling disappointed.
He had no idea what to do with these and he knew Aaron was never a person who makes actions without his benefit. However, he knew that he needed to complete the report to grasp his chance. He could not afford to lose another opportunity.
Lucas pressed the ring button to call his member, Louis. Almost immediately, Louis appeared inside.
"Sir, how may I help you?"
He passed him a piece of paper filled with instructions for the morning duty.
"I would like you to take over for today. Can that be done?"
It was unusual for Lucas to actually delegate his work to someone else. It would mean he really had something very important to handle. Louis of course took it and nodded.
"Absolutely Sir. Good luck with your report," he assured him and wished him luck.

After Louis left, Lucas started to get to work by pulling his sleeves up and getting the report papers laid on his desk. He took a pen and hesitated before writing down, "I should use another pen."
He took another one from his stationery holder and hesitated again. He grabbed all the pens and started choosing which pen to use; Polka dots, black, gold or stripes. He needed the one to set the right mood.
Only after half an hour, he started writing the first word down. From the moment he started, his wrist did not stop at all as he completed his assigned task page by page. He worked hard to ensure that there are no mistakes so that he could finish the report fast.
The thought of getting to meet Leila Song, energized his brain and pumped his blood to move faster. He did not rest even a bit. Soon, it reached 800 pages and he was dead tired by then.
Despite his non-stop writing, time had passed and it was already night time. He picked up the report papers and stacked it nicely before teleporting to Aaron's office. He could not afford to waste another minute.

As expected, Aaron was waiting for Lucas with a smirk on his face. He motioned him to sit down and passed him a cup of coffee. Lucas gave him the report papers and took out the envelope he received.
"Well, explain?"
"Patience. I need to file these first. You know the steps," Aaron reminded him causing him to groan with impatience.
"Never seen you this impatient before. It was fun teasing you", he told him while laughing.
Lucas raised his right eyebrow as he did not really get what he was saying. He was expecting an answer to his question.
Aaron snapped his fingers which made the report papers to disappear. The table was cleared and he was ready to start talking.
He twirled his hand, causing the envelope to fly to his palm. He took the watch out and it started ticking upon his touch.
"I can make the time for you and Leila Song to meet."
Lucas's eyes widened as he listened to Aaron. He wasn't expecting Aaron to take such a risk. He knew Aaron was not the type to do anything if it was risky with no benefits to gain.
"That can lead you to a punishment-"
Aaron raised his palm up to stop him from continuing, "This watch will help you tell when you guys need to stop meeting. That way, everything will be unnoticed"
He passed the watch back to Lucas and the hands of the watch stopped moving.
"It stopped."
Lucas wondered how it worked.
Aaron nodded and continued speaking, "It will move when you get to meet Leila and you will hear a tick which will warn you to end your meeting."
Lucas understood everything and wrapped the watch around his wrist. "What about the paper?" he asked him curiously. He knew there must be something about it as well since he received both.
Aaron passed the paper back to Lucas and it was filled with words. It stated to meet Leila at 4:15pm when the sun has set and the moon has yet to rise. They were to meet at the 'Dian' restaurant and leave by 7:00pm when the moon will start to shine in the sky.
The instructions were written clearly and systematically. It was as if this was planned way ahead. He knew Aaron would never go through all these trouble.
"How did you manage to do all this?"
Aaron simply shrugged his shoulders and smiled.
"It was all her plan and I am merely a messenger."
