Sleepwalk
Down the stairs, barefoot and cold,
Wishing she couldn't be sold,
Like honey or grandmothers pies,
Whispering nothing but innocent lies.
Ugly purple and yellow bruises,
Slowly she battles and quickly she loses,
Thrown away, abandoned, and trapped,
And on the icy window, her knuckles rapped.
Shouts of terror made the blood run cold
—Run Darling, was written in bold.
Hiding beneath her shadows, her fear,
Drunken mistakes portrayed bottles of beer.
And now, green orbs become less bright,
The only thing she wants is light,
Blinking once, she awakens in plain sight,
And all she does is scream in fright.
