Chapter 2

Maze did cry, she cried and screamed the whole night. I should've wagered on it, but now wasn't the time for that. I was training with Elizabeth personally like I do every week and I couldn't refuse, she demanded this.

"Your form is all over the place!" She placed her foot down in, of course, perfect form.

"Well, what do you expect? It be second-" She knocked me down.

"I expect it to be second nature to you, not to force yourself and I don't like it when you make adjustments during battle." She stood above me, her prominent red hair was in a neat ponytail and her eyes were black. She was using full force and it was painful.

"Ugh..you have to stop doing that.." I groaned as I lifted myself up.

"You get that everyday, Darling." Satan was adorable and very English. Could I love her? No, not in that way. I love her as a best friend. That's it.

"But..the monsters, they-they give you a break." It was true in a way, they reacted in a Normal time and would get tired.

Satan did not do this things. Satan was quick and never tired.

"Well, Darling, don't expect that from me!" She teleported from one side of the room. "I want you to deflect my attacks!"

"What attacks?" Too late.

She threw knives that were ablaze and I panicked. I couldn't move, I couldn't dodge, nothing. Unless.. I threw my hands in the air and stopped them, they froze in mid air. I smiled until Elizabeth came in and kicked me down, putting the knives back into action.

"You did good, but always stay on guard." She dropped all the the knives around me, she smiled.

"You need to stop kicking me."

"How about no Darling, keep your guard up."

I got up and stared at her. Right now, I hated her at this moment, but that didn't matter. I picked up a knife and hurdled it at her. I smirked and she did too, catching it and stabbing me in the shoulder.

"Fu- why did I even-" She picked me up and hugged me.

"Darling, quiet. You're fine, you'll heal in five seconds. Benefits of being a demon, you're a fighter." She pulled the knife out and tossed it aside, we stood there and it wasn't awkward at all.
"Send for Chayman." She released me.

"For where?" She turned her head.

"My office, also you're off for the week. Enjoy."

"Thank-" She was gone.

I hate that about her.

With my newly founded week off, I went up to mainland to go listen to music. In Hell, we didn't have a wide music variety. Mostly death music, which was fine by me, I could dig that music. But we never had concerts or any way of preserving the music. So I went up to earth to buy CDs and merch for bands I enjoy. It was a nice system I had.

Satan would even ask me for certain things, It was pretty great. Besides I have a friend on the mainland, Cassidy. She worked at a concert hall and allowed me to work with her backstage, I loved her.

I was actually on my way up, but Maze came crying to me.

"Clo! Oh my, look at-"

"Bye."

"But you need-"

"Bye."

I continued walking away from her, but she was the gum on my shoe until I got to where I needed to be.

"Maze, leave me alone! You know, A L O N E."

"But my pain and suffering, you-"

I turned around. "What do you not understand? I'm going up to the mainland and I want privacy."

"But I-" I actually left her there as I arrived on the mainland.

Where was I? I looked around and I wasn't in Texas. I was in Concord, New Hampshire. I only knew because of the sign that was a few feet away.

I noticed I was in the considered downtown area and shops were everywhere. I began walking around, I just wanted music. So, that's what I was  looking for and luckily found a place. "Pitchfork Records," it looked promising. I entered and not many people were in there, I was grateful for that.

"Miss, do need any help?" A young male aged at about 24 was next me and asking me for help. He looked scrawny and weak, like if a breeze came he would be gone.

"Actually, do you have any suggestions for musicians for me to try?" I swear if he told me an emo band, I would suck his soul out.

"Uh..yeah, follow me." He led me over to the CDs and pulled out a couple.

"I'll take them all." I smiled and he just stood there.

"But I didn't tell you the names." Humans were cute when they were confused.

"If you like them, then I will. Now come on, you want to make a profit don't you?"

He led me over to the counter, scanning the CDs one by one.

"That'll be a grand total of $52.60." He started bagging them.

"Not bad." I handed him cash and grabbed the bag.

"What's your name?" He peered over his little fort.

"What's it to you?"

"I just want to know."

"Tell me yours and I'll tell you mine, sweetheart." He blushed a bit.

"Matthew Grace." He walked over to me and held out his hand. I eyed it for a second and took it.

"Clothilde Miles. Most people just call me Clo. Pleasure." I began to walk away again.

"Odd name, what is it?"

"First name is French and last name don't even know." I waved goodbye. We would most likely never see each other ever again.

Though I wouldn't mind.
