"Hey Jesse." Lukas says as I sit down in the shot gun of his Honda civic. Jay sits behind me as Lukas starts driving. "Jay and I were wondering... Why did you do what you did last week?" He steps on the gas and starts to drive. "..." I could feel myself tearing up and Lukas must have noticed this because he instantly said, "Sorry! You don't need to answer." Then he looks at Jay through the rearview mirror and they start talking. Slowly, I close my eyes.

My eyes instantly open and I sit straight up. Lukas and Jay both look at me and I grab my backpack. "Jesse, you alright?" Lukas asks me as he puts his hand on my cheek. I nod and softly breathe. 'Only... I'm not okay...' I think. My heart races in my chest. Sweat is running down my forehead. I look at Lukas and he puts a hand on my cheek, "you ready for highschool?" His voice is filled with worry yet it wasn't. "..." I stare at him. 'Really Lukas... really... My first day of high school? Why not ask if I'm okay? "Yeah Lukas, I'm so ready for bullies and stress."' It was like Lukas knew what I was thinking because suddenly he smiles and says, "Don't worry about the bullies. I have a group of friends, a huge group, and they will love you." I look out the window and notice we are at school. Before Lukas can say another word, I get out of his car and slam the door shut. "Jesse!" Lukas gets out of his car and follows me. I know this because I could hear his door shut. I hear another door shut then I feel both my hands get grabbed. I look to my left and see Lukas. I look to my right and see Jay. They both smile at me then I pull a fake smile. "My first period is English." Lukas says before looking at Jay, "Mine is math and Jesse's is PE, I think." We all stop and look at each other. "We shall meet at Jesses locker at break! Deal?" Lukas smiles down at me. I nod and Jay says deal.

As the bell rings, I take a deep breathe. 'Time for class.' I think then look over at Jay and Lukas as they start to walk off. Lukas literally takes one step before getting stopped by a girl with long black curly hair, light pale skin and diamond blue eyes. She smiles, "Hey Lukas!" She presses her lips against his for a second then Lukas pulls away. "Hey babe."
