Roman wouldn't consider himself a lucky person. Actually, he usually thought quite the opposite. But sitting on this couch, surrounded by three dorks arguing over which Disney movie is the best, Roman felt like the luckiest guy in the world.

"It's obviously Black Cauldron! There's no songs, it's perfect."

"No way! Winnie the Pooh is the best ever!! It's so cute!"

"On the contrary, Big Hero Six is the most stimulating, therefore is the best."

"Well, what do you think, Roman?"

All eyes turned to Roman. He made an overly dramatic shocked face before texting the group chat quickly.

I CANT CHOOSE AMONGST ANY OF MY DARLING BABIES !! THEYRE ALL MY FAVORITE !!!

Virgil snorted while Patton burst out laughing and Logan smirked. "Didn't take you for a Disney fan, Ro," Virgil chuckled. Roman shrugged with a slight smile on his face. "Since you enjoy them to such a degree, would you like to watch a Disney film?" Logan asked. Roman nodded a little too quickly, causing the other three to giggle once more. They all faced the TV as Logan put on "The Little Mermaid". Roman grinned lightly. This was one of his absolute favorites. The other three couldn't help but smile as the saw the pure excitement on Roman's face. They hadn't seen him that happy ever.

As the film progressed on, Roman's favorite song was starting. "Under the Sea", a musical masterpiece in Roman's opinion. When the chorus began, Roman began humming under his breath, unaware of how loud he was actually being. All three turned to him with shocked expressions on their faces. Roman looked up and stopped humming immediately, his eyes widening. Virgil paused the movie, an awkward silence falling over them until Patton spoke. "You can make sounds?" Roman could feel the anxiety weeping into his mind, but he knew there was no point in lying to them now. He nodded lightly. "I'm not trying to be rude, I swear, but how can you sing if you're mute?" Virgil asked, trying to sound as kind as possible. Roman felt his face flush. How stupid can you get, Roman? Now they're going to think you're a liar. You're going to lose all of them. This is all you're fault. Logan interrupted his thoughts. "Roman, I believe that I may understand you're condition. Would it be alright if I shared what I believe to be occurring?" Roman nodded, despite his thoughts yelling otherwise. He's going to say that he believes you're faking it for attention. You've always been an attention who- "I believe you suffer from a form of mutism called selective mutism." Roman snapped his head up toward Logan. He didn't expect Logan to guess his exact condition. Roman nodded fervently, wanting to prove that he had a very real problem. He wasn't faking, and he needed them to know. "Lo, what does that mean?" Patton asked in confusion. "To put it simply, it is a form of mutism caused not by physical damage, but by a traumatic event in one's life," Logan explained. "Oh gosh...is it permanent?" Patton asked softly, sadness filling his eyes. Logan furrowed his eyebrows. "For some, yes. It depends on the severity of the traumatic event and the individual's reaction to said occurrence." Patton nodded, looking at the ground. Virgil broke the solemn silence. "So...there's nothing actually wrong with your voice itself. So basically, what I'm hearing is..." He's going to call you a liar. He's going to say you're being dramatic. He's going to- "...we can make you laugh." Roman blinked a few times before smiling the widest he had in months. "Yes! We have to!" Patton yelled. "That is a requirement," Logan started. The three boys looked at Roman's expression and couldn't help but grin as well, despite the previous conversation. "What's that smile for, Ro?" Patton asked with a giggle. He typed quickly, his smile never faltering.

I thought you guys were going to call me a liar for being mute when there wasn't anything wrong with my voice, but all you had to say was that now you could make me laugh..I don't deserve you guys :')

"Aw, Ro, we'd never think you were lying about being mute!" Patton responded as he read the message. "What you are experiencing is entirely valid," Logan told Roman as he placed his hand on his shoulder. For once, Roman didn't flinch. "Now, the task remains.. who is going to make Roman laugh first?" Logan asked, a hint of playfulness in his tone. "Is that a challenge, pretty boy?" Virgil asked with a smirk. Logan's face flushed but he nodded anyway. That alone could've made Roman laugh, but he wanted to watch his new friends try to outdo each other, so he forced his laugh to remain a silent chuckle. "I wanna go first! I wanna go first!" Patton jumped up and down. "Go ahead, Pat," Virgil said. "Hey Ro? Why couldn't the bicycle stand up by itself?" Roman grinned and shrugged. "Because it was two tired!" Patton exclaimed. Roman couldn't help the smile on his face, but they were going to have to do a lot better than that if they wanted him to laugh. "I shall attempt next. Please stand up Roman," Logan stated. Roman had an unsure grin on his face as he stood in front of Logan. Logan pushed him back onto the couch. "The empire has fallen," Logan deadpanned. Roman snorted. He pulled out his phone.

You're such a nerd.

Logan looked at his phone and frowned lightly. Roman typed quickly.

It's a good thing!! I promise

Logan smiled lightly, looking at Roman. Virgil stood up. "Alright dorks, step aside. I got this one in the bag. Ro, is it cool if I touch you?" Roman felt himself get nervous, but he found himself nodding. He didn't know why, but he trusted Virgil. He trusted all of them. "Sorry in advance, but I refuse to lose," Virgil smirked. Roman couldn't process what Virgil had said before he felt hands on his ribcage, tickling him fiercely. Roman knew it was over. He was incredibly ticklish. Roman held it in for about 5 seconds before he burst out laughing. It wasn't a quiet chuckle or a small giggle like all of his laughs prior, however. This was a loud, contagious laugh that had all of the other boys smiling widely. His laugh was perfect in all of their opinions. Virgil finally stopped after about 30 seconds, leaving Roman red-faced and giggling. "That was, undeniably, the most adorable thing I have ever seen," Logan said as Roman calmed down. "Your laugh is so cute Ro! You should definitely laugh more," Patton added. "Told ya I refuse to lose. Besides, that was definitely worth it," Virgil said, a smile still on his face. Roman looked at all three of their smiling faces and could only think one thought.

Yeah, I'm pretty lucky.
